Kingdom
9-20-13
The perfect one laughs at the word duality
In seeking again the being and oneness
Where the kingdom of God is not something to try to see
Where heaven lies within the real and true me
Finding a pen under my love seat cushion
To put back into prolific commission
Where the perfect one looks inward
Deeply pondering on how it feels to know what is now...
Esteem
9-20-13
Yet to esteem each other
Better than ourselves
To wipe the dust from off my abandoned bookshelves
Hoping for the alchemy In my metallic musings mild and marvelous
Playing grunge albums for the reminder of the afternoon
To practice mindless meditation
Of such a metallic manevolence
Yet to esteem the here and now
As the be all inside of me
Which is not a thing to try to see...

Honest Inquiry
9-19-13
O, if God had his infinite longsuffering
How can we offend him
In things we still do
Cleaving onto the flesh like we do
To be attached to all excess
O, how can we offend him
If he is all knowing
Yet such I take into consideration
To entertain my soliloquy
Of sorts with a word or two
That admonishes and exhorts
For someone walking in the same way as do I...
On Lamentations 4:14
9-19-13
Wandering as a blind man
In sitting still
Yet to buckle, surrender and yield
In taking up the breastplate, helmet and shield
To live by the sword
Sharpened by chief craftsmen
Where I don't know just how to express
What I have been through
Wandering as a blind man
On my way back to you
Polluting my flesh
With my own blood
Squeezed from a nail I still bite
With teeth grinding for the cause of ambition
Making me ugly and quite beautiful
Wandering as a blind man
Given sight anew....
Here
9-19-13
I am here as a watcher once again
A pastime that yesterday had completely wiped me out
Where I wear away
To again be strengthened on the day after a good night's rest
Here again to be the observer
Like an angel looking out for you
It is the least I can do
For a God that provided so far in the source
That never dwindles
Here as a watcher
It's the least I can do...
Fanlight
9-19-13
Windows and fanlights are constructed
By those architects
Inspired by Solomon
Written of in the book of First Kings
Given the knowledge of all of these numbers
Of which the head of the choir sings
Of windows and fanlights
Set in place by those at work with meager pay
Where ones outcome is near
As days will be fulfilled
In the word of truth the scholar absorbs as his own
To be reassured that I am not alone...
Just Because
9-19-13
I check out a book of calculus two
And ask, O, why
To be answered with just because
Sketching these designs
As if I were high on life
As I study on
Where my area is of my pie times the radius squared
But O, why
And the answer is just because
Why did I write this poem
O, just because
Observing the crescendo
Of another new beginning
Just because...
Perifery
9-19-13
Fixed points and peripheries
Take on new meaning
In a class of my dreams
That I walk on on my intuition
Where curiosity and ambition
Will equal the depths of the real me
In all I can taste and see
Chained up in this chair yet free
Struggling against antipathy
Yet somehow I come to agree
At the intersection of Philadelphia and Queen
Where I get my supply in demand once again....
Fountain
9-19-13
Starting again at the other side of the mountain
Provided cold drinking water
By the well that wants to be the me, the fountain
Caressing my beard stubble
In self affections that mean not my trouble
Content even in seeing double
Where God reserved for me this seat
With a perfect view of the beauty that abounds...
One
9-19-13
I accidently wrote such an equation
In the other notebook
Not on accident
But for a higher purpose
To look back on for further guidance
Asking why
To get an answer
O, just because
To be the sustenance
Of such an orphan page
To count as one...
Oblique
9-19-13
Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles
That hope to fly into heaven
In that today I live for this anticipation
Of a feast to be held at seven
On the night of my full moon
Where it is never too late nor too soon
Following the sketch on my orphan page
To be one in thousands
And therefore chief and unique
Where my counselor tells me
O, have a good one
And have a wonderful week
So I say, hey you too
In a voice deep and oblique...

Mount Zion Dream
9-19-13
In Zion so is kindled a fire
In dreams of going there again
To take my day job for meager hire
Drafted into a rock and roll choir
Taking heed not to tread in the mire
Where we ought to enjoy what we do
For what it is and not for gain
For pocket or sleeves
Planting my eucalyptus
Of which such roots grow deep
Into the soil moistened
In our weekend rainfall expected....
Buckle
9-19-13
Buckling down
Upon my two saliva stained pillows
Running to stand still
With determination against
My high tide of great resistance
Trying not to hear those voices
That say I lead a pathetic existence
Replacing such thoughts
With the affirmative of something more encouraging
Buckling down to rise again to my table
To recite this composition
That lifts me out of the ditch
On streets of those dreams
Of going there again....
Intercession
9-19-13
O, God bless my nemesis
As he reads his magazine
This is the least I can do
For a society that has provided for my retreat
Back on the west side of town
Taking no thought of what to drink or eat
Waiting backstage in that I sing to you
Absorbing melodies of muting
Yet to yet manage all manners of melancholia
O, God bless this silent man
That makes his way at a slow and steady pace
In the right direction
As a sign that we will all make it
To where we want to go today....

Pilot
9-18-13
The bad news is that time flies
The good news is that I am not the pilot
Who never learned to fly
Save in dreams where I boldly leap
From such an acclivity
Of activism wanting peace
Amongst all adversaries
Where high is low
And the poor are rich in the faith
In this pursuit of knowledge
That marches on in processions
Of professions
Of progressive metal riffs
Regarding rues
As reasons to but persist....
Sometimes, Wrong
9-18-13
Sometimes I've got to be wrong
And learn the hard way
Seeing it's not too late to purchase another twenty ounce bottle
For my joy inviting such sorrow to my table
In this confrontation
For the cause of peace and love
Serving as the foundation
Upon which to build a house
For the people on my path
Where I am but a watcher like an angel
I pray for those whom struggle as do I
To be a safety in trying times
In that I need not know
Why O, sometimes I choose
To simply be....
Watcher
9-18-13
Yet to be the witness
And stop the chase
In the enabling of God's love
With faith by grace
Confronting our enemies
But not with a can of mace
Taking in the sights
Of all beauty round about
Of which it to offer
In such a quiet place
Shielded sometimes in my music
Tomorrow suited up with a newfangled boot lace
Yet to be the witness in astute observation
Of all that there is to work with
I the here and now...
On I Kings 6:7
9-18-13
I feel in the moment
A synapse like a sensation
Of a surge of power
Of positive energies
Transmitted for the cause of taking up
An idle autobiography of sorts
As an assignment of all authenticity
To acquire a more rich sense
Of a prayer life
That lies in the hands of the potter
That did not throw the clay away
Like a stone upon which no tool was set upon
Uncarved
Yet quite prepared
To serve this purpose....
Three For Three
9-19-13
Today once again it's three for three
In that I return to the west side
To find more of the real me
One hundred percent perfect attendance
Making my way into today's deep study
Under azure skies
And sunshine flooding through panels
Of cedar and of fir
Where God reserves me this seat
And a view of her
In that my only agenda
Is to enjoy this available beauty....
Pop
9-19-13
I purchase my pop of purity
Serving as the breakfast of poetic champions
Yet to compose
Finding it in me to begin again
In that I made it here by God's grace
With stories to tell of how I came out of furnaces
And the lion's den
As I fought my giant
That instead fell from his bean stock
To my good fortune
In all blessing and bounty
Dwelling six more weeks
Yet in the same county
Content with where I am....
Achievement
9-19-13
Basing one's existence
On acquiring and achieving
Limits our awareness and scope
An that such denial put into practice
Sometimes is one's only way to cope
While in the face of dreariness and gloom
There is always hope
To take another warm bath
With one's Irish spring soap
Doing all things as unto the Lord
In heaven looking down on us with a smile....
Escaped
9-19-13
The trap of one's ego
Is as striving and never arriving
Yet such serves as a way for endurance
And persistent surviving
In our gardens we yet weed out while thriving
Yet to escape from such a trap
:Like a poetic Houdini like so
As today is a perfect sunshiny day
And this is all I need to know
Where the ego is a demanding force
That is never satisfied
Which is why I seek the real me
As I have come along for the ride...
Punch
9-19-13
My drinking water flows in low placed
Loathed by all men
Which serves as today's inspiration
For this happy and enlisted pen
Into an army that has somewhat has been excluded and denied
Planting these vineyards
To never partake of the fruit
That falls to the ground for the poor
To gather in straw baskets
To contribute to those in need
Yet today this water is carbonated
To give my swig the punch of my sunshiny day....
This Is Wisdom
9-19-13
It's better to stop pouring
Than to keep on filling vessels of honor
Who renounce their stealing and killing
To convert my dollar to its shilling
When I travel in dreams
Where I am free from this bondage
A time when indeed I am at peace
Yet still hunger much
At the counter of my fast food
Frequenting fortune and fate
Where it is better to enjoy it
Without placing a label
On what we wish to call it
This is wisdom
When we come to understand
Such a freedom attainable to all....
Way
9-19-13
The way to heaven
Is to retire from the treadmill of excess
Enjoying what one does
Instead of looking for how it will benefit
The endless appetites of this ambition proud
Of being one to write this book
In manners automatic with ammunition
Where the way to contentment
Is to stand back and observe
This beauty all around me...

On II Corinthians 12:6
9-18-13
O, how our abundance is real
Where our lack is merely an illusion
Seeing this cup of coffee three quarters full
In another grandeous delusion
Thinking to be someone of prominence
And it turns out
One is right to think highly
Of one's achievements
But he will not boast
Because it is more than being proud
To do what is on one's heart
Unto those less fortunate
O, how our abundance is real....
Root
9-18-13
Going deep into the root of creation
I seek out being
But sometimes am content with mild elation
Satisfied with well being
More in that it's not about chasing it
While growing into a cedar taller
And more mature
Callow and green in unfledged
Stages of one's memory
Of this guidance still in action
Like a ripple that does not stop at the brink
Being thirty-seven months without my drink
And I want to keep it this way....
Last Is First
9-17-13
The poet puts himself last today
To end up getting ahead
Where he is alive with Christ
And therefore quite dead
With one's life hidden
In she whom is always birthing
Like our latest new ideas we come up with
In pushing forward towards the mark
By the half light of what was once in the dark
Where I assist such a labor
In spewing ink upon these pages
As my gesture of the love at hand....
Measure
9-18-13
O, with eight quarts to the peck
Today I play rummy with a three quarter deck
According to the judgment of higher esteem
Held in feeble hands in remembrance of last night's dream
Looking back on childhood excavations
Of crème filed doughnuts
And mint chocolate chip ice cream
Of our sixteen drams to the ounce
As such labels involving new words
I hope to relinquish and renounce
Just because such means more to me
Than just a measurement...

Obstacle
9-18-13
Worry is simply a part of the world of its changing
To bring peace to a mind at rest
Yet rearranging as the obstacle
To refine the poet and scholar
Through fire of a heavenly sort
According to desire
Where the opposites tend to produce
Even more gratitude
In these voices that guide one
In the way of wonders of weal and woe
In that it is a great strength to say you don't know....
Impartiality
9-18-13
God sends his rain
Upon the wicked and the just
Yet not today
In which a scholar puts his trust
As a day spelled with a capital letter
That will be just as it is
Coming like a thief at noon
To comfort one in all endeavors
Where one's ego is the one that is insecure
Seeking to be meek
If such a thing can be
In my search for the real me
Where God sends his rain
Upon another river surging to her sea....
Torque
9-18-13
Once and twice overwhelmed
By such a torqued upsurge of this raging river Euphrates
Where the dross the flame doth purge
Inspired by my yesterdays
Of the brook of affliction
From which several smooth stones are chosen
To match the giant that assists me
With the challenges at hand
Looking out this east window
With its view of magnolias
Soon to turn come my All Saint's Day
Of hope in what I cannot see
To which I close my eyes to see...
Pirate
9-18-13
I am a pirate like a thief
Dreaming of my vertigo
Of altitudinous snow falling out of season
To be a token for times of change
Where I lean upon the rock
Where many were slain
For what they believed in and still do
While taking on a ne form of old wineskins
Filled again by additional fermentations
Of this babbling and rambling
Of horse racing wages
Of idle games of gambling
Where I am a pirate and a thief
Of the words that in truth
Belong to all that behold...
Natural High
9-18-13
In my living death of last night's affliction
I hold my dying breath
To make me feel like one on crystal meth
By such a natural high
In my insane meditation
Putting to practice this alchemy
Saying another blessing upon the books
Lining the east wall
And for the children that come in and out of here and there
For we and they and us and them
Writing upon a tablet
With no intentions to back my poems up
In the digital sense
Like my gift that writes the next chapter....

This Is My Work, To Enjoy
9-17-13
When the work is done
It is forgotten
Which is why it lasts forever
Given this determination to continue on my mission and endeavor
With my only agenda today to enjoy beauty
And to write these rhymes of the new hope
In skies azure and clear
Holding the faith
To war against all fear
Wherein love will be the answer
In my struggles for those along my path
To the river drifting downstream
By this will and wonder
Of skies devoid of dark clouds and thunder...
Source
9-18-13
Staying with what can never be used up
As grace and love straight from the source
By which I fill again my cup
Doing all things today
As if to my savior
That will have me to recover
From the tremor
Of what it took to get here
Now and today, Lord willing
Given the perfect day to study
To show myself to be approved
And by what is written
Of Solomon within
I am deeply moved...
Object
9-18-13
By my object referral
I get in touch with the instruments
Of such poetic and literary pursuits to plunder
Spoil and costly loots
To the sounds of clarinets and flutes
Hoping that all I write here
Will not be in vain
Where all is vanity
So we might as well enjoy what we see
Around a half lit room
Of diligent studies of the Solomon within
Praying for this wisdom to not be in vain
Where all is vanity
Like the pleasure that will follow the pain
By my object referral
I put to use what cannot be seen
By these racing steeds that hasten
And the track ahead to chasten...
Moderation
9-18-13
As I moderate my volume
On the music at hand
I tend to capture idle vibrations
That help me to come to understand
Where there is no way to happiness
For happiness is the way
In that I quote what I have seen
To observe the light that turns red
And then again green
Where I moderate the volume
Keeping my readings simple
In that I pray without ceasing
And in any state
To be therewith content...
Strength
9-18-13
It is a great strength
To be one to ask, O, how may I serve
Taking for granted how fortunate we are
Where we get more here
Than what one can ever, in truth, deserve
Yes, I am writing a book
O, how about you
I pray for your success
Under skies of blue
O, how we take these things for granted
Thinking not of the changes
Yet to transpire
Where it is a great strength
To admit, O, I don't know....
Presence
9-18-13
Of Avidya and her absence
I love her from a distance
Which is worth a whole lot more
When I don't know her name
Of Avidya and of presence
I find my way with eyes closed
So that I might see
The love in store
For those that choose not to boast
Sharing one's words to but edify
And not to puff up the fleshly mind
Of Avidya and her being
Where the eye is much more than the seeing...
9-17-13
When the work is done
It is forgotten
Which is why it lasts forever
Given this determination to continue on my mission and endeavor
With my only agenda today to enjoy beauty
And to write these rhymes of the new hope
In skies azure and clear
Holding the faith
To war against all fear
Wherein love will be the answer
In my struggles for those along my path
To the river drifting downstream
By this will and wonder
Of skies devoid of dark clouds and thunder...
Source
9-18-13
Staying with what can never be used up
As grace and love straight from the source
By which I fill again my cup
Doing all things today
As if to my savior
That will have me to recover
From the tremor
Of what it took to get here
Now and today, Lord willing
Given the perfect day to study
To show myself to be approved
And by what is written
Of Solomon within
I am deeply moved...
Object
9-18-13
By my object referral
I get in touch with the instruments
Of such poetic and literary pursuits to plunder
Spoil and costly loots
To the sounds of clarinets and flutes
Hoping that all I write here
Will not be in vain
Where all is vanity
So we might as well enjoy what we see
Around a half lit room
Of diligent studies of the Solomon within
Praying for this wisdom to not be in vain
Where all is vanity
Like the pleasure that will follow the pain
By my object referral
I put to use what cannot be seen
By these racing steeds that hasten
And the track ahead to chasten...
Moderation
9-18-13
As I moderate my volume
On the music at hand
I tend to capture idle vibrations
That help me to come to understand
Where there is no way to happiness
For happiness is the way
In that I quote what I have seen
To observe the light that turns red
And then again green
Where I moderate the volume
Keeping my readings simple
In that I pray without ceasing
And in any state
