Dry Bones
8-8-15
Determined to stick it out
And to suck it up
Starving for companionship
No one down at the bench
To make the lonesome doubt
For Jesus the Cornerstone
And us as lively stones
This makes the church of the living God
Taking up Joseph's dry bones
False stuff about us is all going on
As I seek slumber and wait for a comforting yawn
Hear the truth
Ears to hear, let him hear
Our pillar is to lift up for display
How does it feel to be a Jesus freak
We lift it up in truth
Did yet still in ones youth
In a need to lift up the bible
For sound instruction...
Hold Forth The Word
8-8-15
Today seems like an endless battle
For all goats, sheep and cattle
Plundering the spoil
Thundering for oil
To hide the truth in our hearts
Memorize verses to handle temptations tactfully
Hold forth the word
Go north
And hear the singing bird
You'll have your own Gethseneme
Where you'll thirst while blessed and wise
As such cursed the world offers death
O, let me catch my breath
The book offers life
Study to show yourself approved
And all over again in this I am moved
Here I am, send me back down to the bench...
Folded
8-8-15
Folded my laundry
Done, proud
It's nice to have clean briefs and shirts
As it feels good even when it hurts
All the captains of such forces are with me
And with folly so my faith flirts
From the least to the greatest
Coming near I step out again in joy that conquereth fear
We will go back into Egypt where we should see no war
Tossing aside the orange rind and that pink lady apple core
Let the Lord be true and faithful
For he wants us to of him want more...
I Already Got It
8-8-15
Returning out of the places where they have been driven
Today I am thankful for
As that I am already given
Act as if you already own it
The gig is on today
No need to postpone it
Maybe they'll get me
All the people from the least to the greatest
Are right here and Now
Gathering wine and summer fruit
Forming a line for cards all of the same suit
Great is the mystery of godliness
For God manifested in the flesh
I know I will win
When my heart just won't give in
Believed on in the world of sin
Received up into glory
I go there to tell my story
Justified in the Spirit
For the dog a bone to bury....

Rations
8-8-15
No one invited me to breakfast
So I fend for myself and just have coffee talk
Do not be afraid to serve the Chaldeans
Dwell in the ward and serve the King
Soon again I raise my voice to sing
saving it up for Sunday morning
I rock it and I don't mean to mock it
I walk out my front door and not lock it
Come explore your dream's creation
It works for me
And now the Lord has brought it
O, how long have I sought it
And of the Spirit I am taught it
Deacons must be grave, devout, honest, open and sincere
I see a new beginning quite nigh and near
And I take another trip down for a march
To get my fiber and starch
I hope to see you there...
Too Much Sun
8-8-15
I and I, myself and me
Live and die each day
To simply be rendering the Hebrew
To signify what eyes can see
You say your looking for someone
Already got a little bit too much sun
Faithful in all things
The office of our pastor
And my office in quarters of miracles
In the midst of disaster
No slanderers, no gossip, no critic for a reason
A good degree and a great boldness
Speak evil of no man in such coldness
In a need of a servant's heart
Pray for this
Great is the mystery of godliness Our deacon, our servant
Our table waiter
Call me J.J. Creator
With a good degree of life, a lover
And us as lively stones God ordains....
Pillar Of Ground Of Truth
8-8-15
Papa's banquet wasn't big enough
As a soul cannot be satisfied with stuff
As I'm never quite content
Always taking another puff
I wish I could tell you
All the things I never learned how to say
Bob Dylan said that
And it's another prolific day
In the company of my calico cat
For manners of ministry
Our pillar of ground and truth
Soon to enter the month of Tishri
For the royal family
And these officers get on that train and ride
Another acoustic random selection
For Ishmael defined as God hears
Taking the rest of us into captivity
God ordains....
For Jonathan
8-8-15
Tangled up in blue
Star spangled today just for you
Here is the summary dealing with the reasons
Instant in and out of season
As America deteriorates
Life becomes more of a challenge
Always pray for patience and get the trial
For it makes you who you are
No church belongs to a hierarchy
Nothing lacked about the building
But what happens is!
As Jonathan rescues many people
As it's no longer about the stained glass windows or the steeple
Coming back from Gideon
Jeremiah warns the remnant by divine judgment pronounced
Everything rises and falls on leadership
Us as lively stones will make it happen...

Tablet and blog
My only agenda today
Believing the facts of my great commission
In my precarious position
It's always a risk well worth taken
As so the salt and pepper shakers again are shaken
I walk out on my own
I meet you there
Be yourself for everyone else is taken
I believe in you even on the morning after
Joy comes in the morning
For weeping and its laughter
Feeling crushed like a grape
I have some vintage wine
Hammered back into better shape
Requiring not an extra sign
To research jacinth and zircon
Our bible is a book of methods
And power for those in prayer....
At Mizpah
8-8-15
In the sixteenth week we proceed in our new series
Do not undo in unbelief what God has done in faith
Dylan all day today
Or at least until I turn on Van the man
Our master plan
O lines, be grave
For there are many to save
God lead me today in my mission
For Timothy our diamond in the rough
Told to stir up the gift
As tomorrow morning to church I get my lift
O, which river do you choose to cross
The Jordan or the Nile
By memories of brother Ross
In the home of the brave
Like it's going out of style
For we know that today Jesus is boss
Coming to Godaliah at Mizpah and no great loss....
One Bread
8-8-15
The neighborhood seems dead
But at least the cat is fed
For our iniquity Jesus bled
And I can cope with music in my head
Turning it over to Rush
Not coming around looking for a crush
I just want someone to talk to
And places I can walk to
Told to stir up the gift
We cannot undo in unbelief
What God did in faith
For we are all of one Bread
Just think what we might do better
To go to the house of mourning than of mirth
And to get ones feet back on the earth
My plan was to sleep from six till noon
But now it's another lifestyle
Not too late and not too soon...
To Ebed-Melech
8-8-15
Things of the world go strangely dim
As my intercessor says that my hair needs a trim
Maybe over the weekend I might compromise
And keep the Word and Way of the wise
Switching my clothes over to the dryer
As the captain of the guard is carried away captive
As I decline from the proposition on the flyer
I hope someday you join us
And the world can be as one
And I took these words the hard way
Seeming to be getting too much sun
O, go and speak to Ebed-Melech
And make the most of your car in her wreck
The devil deceives the world and accuses the brethren
Keep a lid on it...

Why does God love us
Good question
It is his love that keeps us going back
As I return again tomorrow
To see and hear another awesome sermon
It's all good
For pine and cedar wood
In the neighborhood of fellowship and brotherhood
In the Christian life the pendulum swings
As it is the most natural for a man to be attached to things
Not to live and die to oneself
Forming rain into a mighty river
I slow down just a tad
So that we might deliver
Bottled up making us love each other
Soon I will meet you down at the bench
The book will keep one from sin
In a situation lose and win-win....
Gedaliah Made Ruler
8-8-15
Today I know joy
To in Jesus being still but a boy
Keeping the body of Christ contained
For faith, hope and love
As the owl sounds like the dove
I wanted it to stop
So I said a prayer to God above
No new commandment
Except that ye love one another
It's a wonderful trip today
Today I know the joy in Jesus on the reigns
I get my grip
His body is the people
And not the height of the steeple
To be hunted by a man that was your friend
Remembering El Paso and letters to send
It's a wonderful trip
Get ready for an onslaught
I pray without ceasing
For another good one...
Bullfrog
8-8-15
Maybe I will find myself tomorrow
Spending the time that I borrow
Wherever it seems convenient
Where joy meets sorrow
Felt as the love of God
Go back to Gedaliah
Giving charge concerning our bullfrog
Leaping out of the mouths of dragons
And getting on more squeaky wagons
As he is released from prison to tell his story
And I put on another Dylan CD
For the captain of the guard all the day long
Inspiring me to write my song
Breaking down the walls
In the times of the Gentiles
But I will deliver you in that day
When you walk the extra miles...
Ered-Molech Rewarded
8-8-15
Praying for inspiration
Shine your light on me
I pray as well for patience
I'm a little too blind to see
Fresh air through my east window
For the fingernail moon
I'm setting sail soon
Sin will keep you from the book
And vice versa
Sister may I tell you
Dressing me and forcing me
It's a wonderful trip
I make certain that the day won't go to waste
Shine your light on me
His body is the people
And his love doth set us free
O, precious angel
I pray for your travelling mercies
Keeping the body of Christ contained
You're the queen of my flesh
Even while pleasured and pained
They and their men made their way on through
And I will shine my light on you....

coexistence
Coexistence
8-8-15
Stop here for awhile and watch and pray
For all on your heart
Waking to a fingernail moon
Shaking in that I'll be setting sail soon
She sees the man inside the child
As ducks fly overhead wanton and wild
Quicken me Jesus according to your word
It's alright, O morning squirrel and mourning jay bird
Such is as I coterminous and coextensive
Thine sky to follow this feeling
In being promised the healing
Being the same to exhort
As paid so is my cable and rent
By the backdrop of sonic pattering
Everything is mattering
Woman, I will...
Spokesman
8-8-15
Equal and coincident
In space, time and scope
Waking to my aloe Irish spring soap
Good morning brother S.J.
I hope today that you find your way
For there is hope
To edify, enlighten and uplift
As one to put in another Sabbath day's shift
For our oratory skill in all eloquence
In the light I need not grope
Needing a jumpstart
Where Moses says he wasn't a good orator
Given Aaron for a spokesman
You could be mine
O, light my way
For truth and faith we but believe....
Ad Hoc
8-8-15
Sucking my lips to taste the smoke and coffee remnants
Remembering of how I slept on stone
To deliver my oration
I won't need to go it alone
My skill and eloquence in public speaking
Such is my dream and I hope to make it real
Ad hoc and padlock
For this special purpose
Presently under consideration
To muck about and to muck around
To idle and to bide my time in quality sound
As moist farmyard dung
Smelling sweet like a song
That is sung by defamatory and sullying remarks
I still dream about going up against my pool sharks
Ad hoc and padlock
Bad sock, herd and flock...
Why Not To Quit
8-8-15
No such youtube today
I give it a rest
Given so much more I can say
Playing Dylan CD's
I am on my way
I lived for this
Yet now I live by daylight
Smiting the rock again for ducks in flight
Life is wonderful on another Sabbath
Diligent broken by the pen
On the calendar our day of Pentecost
The love of Christ constrains
A new creature, all things were made new
He died for all then all were dead
Not to live onto oneself
By life punctuated
By gain and loss
Where all is paid in full on the cross
Another sermon about why not to quit....
Zedekiah Taken
8-8-15
In the depths of the sea of God's forgetfulness
Sin is no longer as such imputed
Where there is grace
And today I'm in a much better place
Our greatest accomplishment to finish the course
I comb my pony that wants to grow up to be a thoroughbred racing horse
Live unto Him as a new creature
As the love of Christ constrains me
Our love is as tainted love
Where the universe maintains him
Time to die to self
And break out ninety-three archives
From my bedroom shelf
Raindrops channel it from the river
Stand as more than a conqueror
The greatest life you can ever live....

Bluster
8-8-15
You left me like an empty parking lot
Not to cheat and not to defraud
Not to overeat
Being fed by the bread of the Son of God
Diversity is beautiful
We lurk near and have nothing to fear but God alone
Not one to cast the first stone
You don't need to go it alone
Yet to pilfer and swipe
Yet to swagger, bluster and strut
Going down to the bench
I get wet my butt
To roar and be tumultuous as wind
All have fallen short
All have sinned
Taking elders into the city
By the thorns of the wilderness and briers
With them teaching men
At Succoth to beat down the tower of Pennuel
I'm wide awake...
Law As Medicine
8-8-15
You're so cruel to be kind
Call no man fool
For you are not your mind
It doesn't matter to you
As still I perseverate about what we are to do
When there is ice on the street without its name
To flout and treat with disdain
To tell them what it's all about
And stay in from the freezing rain
Normative is standard
Attempting to establish what is just and true
By the prescription of the boundaries that keep us safe and sound
Brother, I will see you around....
Prosody
8-8-15
I didn't count the times I lit up today
Law as medicine O, our madness
There is no such thing as normal
When all are different
Passing right through you like a ghost
Another macron
Another long vowel
Our symbol used in such prosody
To indicate a stressed syllable
I learn to love the language
For the science and study of poetic meter
Hearing the preaching and praying of Paul and Peter
By the stressed and intonation and patterns of utterance
As Jerusalem falls and Zedekiah is taken back into Babylon
God will make a way of escape
As he did with me last night
Not a matter of black or white...
Backdrop
8-8-15
Our backdrop, our rear curtain
Our mountaintop
Of heights uncertain
Of our stage setting
Our background of such an event
I confess and soon repent
I'm up for the day
But swear not at all
As sonic penetrating to a speed equal
To that of a sound in air
At the same height of the sea level
No matter what happens today
I will not give place to the devil
Cheer up, man
It's Saturday
On end-stopped lines
Ending conterminously
With its syntactic and logical unit of this distance...

Last night's mud and a fresh batch
Jesus' blood
He makes my future mate and match
Out again at quarter till three
To meet a distant brother
Feeling actually rested for a change
As one to monopolize
And to obtain exclusive possession
Of what I hold in my right hand
Inky of blue, I think of you
In the sink, morning dew
For exclusive control
All is well with my soul
God has the right people already set up for me
Is that all you want from me
Another mild expletive
And another U2 album
I play to jumpstart my consciousness....
Dame
8-8-15
For my interjecting word and expression profane
Using proper prudence and discretion
Another king is slain
Our exclamatory oath
Why choose between the two when we can have both
I'm ready to take it to the street
To touch a lot of people
The dame equivalent to the knight
All the same I live for the dark of night
Our matron, our human right
Our bird in flight
Pray for it and yield
Don't slay for it
As God is your shield
Get a Farmer's Almanac
And study up on your crops
Face pressed up against the glass
Low in valleys and high upon mountaintops....
Swag
8-8-15
Used only with the definite article
Another study
You're the real thing
Which is why the cross is still bloody
To swagger and strut while in doubt
To force by blustering
In our ostentatious display of such a pride corroded
Yet to lurch and to sway
Tomorrow I go to church and pray
Holding off on the basic essentials closer to daylight
Will it make it easier on you
Now to hang loosely and to sag
In the middle of our festoon
And our suspended garment
By the view of another crescent moon....
Ministry
8-8-15
Prayer is my ministry
I want to pray for you to carry a bundle
And to travel with ones belongings
We're one but we're not the same
Love is a temple
In our low places in tracts of land
Producing ranker vegetation
We get to carry each other
Offering is all set for my tomorrow
Where low places are quite fertile
And high places will be deficient for the coefficient
Our festoon, our string and chain of flowers
Our foliage and ribbon
And all manners of knowledge
Of such powers yet to leave in a lurch and desert
When help is needed
The most in ones awkward swaying motion and gait
Prayer is my ministry...
Arabah
8-8-15
Lord quicken me according to thine word
Spilling over the brim
Is the juice from my curd
I take not credit for what I do
Yet still accept the compliments graciously
Four hours of sleep last night
And three the day before
I actually feel alive and quickened
And I want more and more
Of the God that I adore
For festoons and chains of flowers
For crescent moons
By gains of captured hours
To lurch, to steal and filch
To go to church, to kneel
To lurk near in a state of watchfulness
All is well with my soul...
8-8-15
Last night's mud and a fresh batch
Jesus' blood
He makes my future mate and match
Out again at quarter till three
To meet a distant brother
Feeling actually rested for a change
As one to monopolize
And to obtain exclusive possession
Of what I hold in my right hand
Inky of blue, I think of you
In the sink, morning dew
For exclusive control
All is well with my soul
God has the right people already set up for me
Is that all you want from me
Another mild expletive
And another U2 album
I play to jumpstart my consciousness....
Dame
8-8-15
For my interjecting word and expression profane
Using proper prudence and discretion
Another king is slain
Our exclamatory oath
Why choose between the two when we can have both
I'm ready to take it to the street
To touch a lot of people
The dame equivalent to the knight
All the same I live for the dark of night
Our matron, our human right
Our bird in flight
Pray for it and yield
Don't slay for it
As God is your shield
Get a Farmer's Almanac
And study up on your crops
Face pressed up against the glass
Low in valleys and high upon mountaintops....
