It's all poetry to me in Lovecraft and in Smith
I take up the books for something to work with as to be humble
Quiet and sensible leaving the past behind in Kerouac moments of picnic tables
And lemonade fans
You didn't miss a thing quite yet
And I treat her like a lady friend
Loving her according to the Christian life
Taking the father's lead in Mitria and Scete of northern Egypt
Risking my neck out there for verses to move you in lines to love
And stanzas to steal.....

West of the Nile are beautiful hues of blue and green
Parting the Red Sea to find out what it could mean
Hence we are not quite as much disposed to it
In Ballad of Ladies of my future and past and mistresses of the here are now
In Francois Villon back to my Alighieri with intermost freedom
Of taking up their books travelling by light of desert wisdom overall
It has been quite fortunate so far proving oneself a servant
Seeing our own Thebaid near ancient Thebes for you
