banjo

O, Exquisite Banjo
1-13-17

To be spiritual minded is life and peace
As so I pray and not cease
Trying to have them to understand it
I keep on putting it out there
As well for self edification
On doing duty up and down
To fill me up with something dark brown
Carnal not subject to the law of God
Nor can it be
O, exquisite banjo sound reverberate
For love and hate
Is this the question I answer too soon
As Spirit is life because of righteousness
Today's my lucky day
Because my name is Jason.....

Sinn Fein Revisited
1-13-17

Sinn Fein
Bring rain
But don't track in the mud
Even when being washed in the blood
Down the middle of the road with a heavy load
Waiting for the wink of the Word
Think the worst case scenario
And everything else is a bonus
Fourteen miles, O see the sign
As one to say It's really not a big deal
Give it three hours
We are saved by hope
When we come around to it
The way I see it
We eat the apple tonight
Whether literal or proverbial
In this repentance...

Stay Or Go
1-13-16

Go, Einstein go
Stay, Judas stay
In case you didn't know
Everyone will find their way
As the Spirit assists us in our infirmities
And time is just as it is
For any golden fleece
Turning it into something
I can have faith in keeping it in perspective
The devil has fidelity
But only you can give it to him
True or false
Take your own pulse
And reevaluate that number
Joining the army three years
All things work together for good to those that are
At the center first-row desk
Love is burlesque....

husbandry

Husbandry Revisited Again
1-13-17

The noblest true
The highest in you
Every time I'm in your barns
We are God's husbandry
The law was weak through the flesh
God sent His own Son
Seeing His phlox today
The lunch will give me the squirts
But at least I have clean shirts
In the likeness of all that is sinful
God make me a blessing
Something I can grapple with
Someone I can have an apple with
Or in turn thirst tonight to reveal slandering the grass
O, I delight in this law with carrots and broccoli made raw
O, dirty scams of the wretch....

On Romans 7:22,23
1-13-17

Come notorious by the sum of potations
In a need to stay up two more hours maybe without you
But with Christ hold hard
For the hotels of the future
Stay awhile
"What will you have for yourself",
He doth but inquire
I see another law in my members
Warring against the law of my mind
One more day I'll continue on my journey
Not trying to pass it off
With hat on the back of my pole
All is well with my soul
Hoping to be favored
I remain....

Born In Boston
1-13-17

Born in Boston
Dying right now and here
Passing through Massachusetts
In the beginning you really love me
Friday the thirteenth turns out to be a blessed day regardless
What can I do in the meantime to assuage all such sin and crime
To be carnally minded is death
Was not Esau Jacob's brother by love fear, life and death and faith
Do you have me in your own way?
O, Monsignor do your best
In a life that desires more of Him
Born in Boston....

fifth son

Fifth Son
1-13-17

Remembering Racheal
Opening up her womb
From cradle and tomb
Millions of hearts are lifted
For space control at Houston
For the team below that gives the go
No sense in Dinah
Daughter of Zebulun
I'm going back way behind the sun
To find you some honey
And bring you some
Fifth son, Issachar
I have given my maiden to my husband
Come envious reasoning
Go out and find me there rolling over
In the clover our neighborhood gatekeepers
In alcohol-fueled rage
Just turn the page
For more ditties of divine dedication....

Bring Us Mandrakes
1-13-17

Reuben, bring us mandrakes
Not to belittle the snakes
O, go and dream
Give me, I pray thee of what belongeth
To me by the noblest and the truest
Keep me burning
Reading another one of Paul's letters to the churches
Enduing me with a good dowry
He endows me to a good gift
Saint or sinner
I will proceed in Asher
Happy as I for our daughters and sons
Not to damn
I've had enough of that
As church bells ring
Come intense interest and preoccupation
I heard you needed my assistance
Listen to this and give ear to my music.....

occlusion

Occlusion
1-13-17

O, bawd of brothel
My nights have been lonely, ludicrous
And causing laughter
In higher hopes for the hereafter
Where will I go
Incongruous
I got your letter
Just for you to say hello
You needed me in the lines we are learning
Jesus is still bleeding
From out of a heart of compassion
Yet flaxen and dace
Yellowish of Dallied flax
No such sin tax in comic literary
Any dramatic piece
The fleas cling to the golden fleece
Come on, come in
Be not gone as we win
Occluding our consonant
Go to sea again and take the pew....

Superimposition
1-13-17

Book three before the starting of book two
Look more as we look to but see
Superimposed to join in as an addition
Jesus is more than just alright
Diverting and obstructing
Agreeing and accordant as geometric figures
And complex sweets and sugars Rachael gave Jacob
Also as well our Zilpah
Not just another maid
Having had to include
That life isn't so bad
A troop cometh
O, how fortunate the spirits are coming though
And it has just begun
Sunup, lights off....

At Zebulun
1-13-17

Harping on me about downsizing
My father I still honor
Not always congruent concerning geometric figures
Concluding at all points
Over Kansas O, mist
O, make merry
I wonder why
Instructed by catechism of my beloved elder
In the background silence between notes
Rung out occluding and diverting
The apples still fresh
Left with fields to thresh
In Asher happy am I
For daughters call me blessed
For Reuben bringing her nakedness
And gatekeepers of the dark
Otherworldly
Endue me with a great dowry...

grant

Grant
3-6-16

O, son of Shealtiel
What is it that you feel
O, are you honest
O, are you real
They abhor him that speak uprightly
To afflict the just
We take the bribe and turn aside the poor
In the gate from their right arm
Choose to enter again into the heavy wooden door
Of the seat for similar entities from the sea
We are as pearls of great price
Woe and weal to those at ease
Crying upon beds of ivory on the right side
We, me on bended knee
For larceny our legacy
To but quote and coin a phrase
Transition into morning
To no longer wander from sea to sea
Where fair virgins soon faint for thirst
Behold the days come when plowmen
Will overtake the reaper
Soon I will be home with my old lady
To give her treats....

Side Effects
3-6-16

Hands and feet cold
Due to the nicotine
The Lord hath sworn by the excellence of Jacob
The days come what I send a famine
Not for bread but for the truth
O, son of Jodak
It's my world
I will let you in on it
Devils' dances in an angel's way
Keeping the feast of the tabernacles
As the foundation is not quite laid
As far as macadam is concerned
Let us build with you
For we seek your God
But you have nothing to do with us
Deft, skillful and dexterous
And guilty in comprehension
I have not yet apprehended
Thy god, O man, He liveth
As the manner of Beersheba
Come our lover written in Syrian tongue
Yes, we are yet quite young....

waleye

Walleye Revisited
3-6-16

Doing all you desire concerning timber
Of cedar and of fir
All for the leverage of his parsley
And twenty measures of pure oil
This morning I taste of the nasty stuff
For our gasket racing a piston
To serve our furled sail by boom, gaff and yard
Judging the world from my throat
I take up for you a lamentation
Now that the sun is truly up
And I make my transition into the light of day
And just accept it for what it is
Utter ye and testify
Of our backyard
I will do all that ye desire
As so the servant is the highest title
For the piker that yet gambles his well being
Over something sweet
Come entropy and its strabismus
Our walleye while under the influence....

Sepiolite Revisited
3-6-16

He's got a place of his own
That will never be known until he goeth
All the way to the end of the earth
Puffing from a pipe made of Meerschaum
Our sepiolite
We hate him that rebukes in the gate
O, come to Bethel and transgress
To set an example
Dollar in the tip jar
As we are given a free sample
Given cleanness of teeth in your cities of refuge
All for our cuttlebone
The crutch is all too much
In one calcareous interval
Shall Hiram make his league with the king
And they had peace round about them
Rangy upon our true terrain
According to the grant of Cyrus
To them of Zidon and our island
For my fifty gallon tank....

bream

Bream
3-6-16

Greatness is your potential
This is the flood that drains these eyes
After taking a deep breath of self confidence
You never know what can happen
In the corridors of truths on many lines
And forgetting my locker combination
I glory in these infirmities
The sun and moon shall be darkened
O, assemble yourselves
Today they do as I will be their intercessor
Your spirit mad with grace
But surrender to the light
A translation into morning
Takes a milligram of faith
For I will cleanse their blood
For our porgy, wrasse and tautog and dace
And I kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah
To devour its palaces....

Solomon's Provisions
3-6-16

silence no more
I will speak up about what I have seen
In the spaces in between
Sending fire upon Temin
To devour the palaces of Bozrah
The bream and chub
And this morning no struggling in the tub
Yet cyprinid going bait fishing
Judah and Israel were as many
As the sand of the sea in multitude
Abundance is flowering into my day today
It is what God wants for such madness of fine flour
And ten fat oxen and one hundred sheep
We could not delve more deep
As straw and barley for our dromedaries
Many come to hear his wisdom and this monster lives within
This is the cloud that swallows trust
Giving the Nazarenes new wine to but taste....

Jalousie Of Louvers
3-6-16

Hiram was even of David a lover
I see my reflection in the window
And blow my own cover
Hear this Word, o kine of Bashan
Oppressing the poor and cursing the needy
Someone beat me to my favorite machine
A wizard of the game in his strategy
O, command them to hew cedar trees
Out of Lebanon to build
As do our Sidonians
One more cup of nastiness
And I'll be as high as a kite
Soon we board our jalopy and it's jalousie
For our jealousy
Projecting judgment on the world
Through dirty windows
Our louvre for admitting light
I'm judge and I'm jury
Sending a fire on the wall of Gaza
Come Damascus in a couch
Money is hidden....

equipped

Equipped
3-6-16

God gives us opportunities to start over
God will bless even the vagabond and the rover
If one chooses to serve with what one has been given
A new look on the stage
Yes, a new gray shirt
In turning back the page
Unto a note changed for the latest rage
Come discommoded breath of thin air
I'm madly in anger with you
Because I know you can do better
With it next Sunday
Spring forward and longer daylight
I hit the reset button
Rum day, a prayer for one man
To put on another wonderful sermon at nine
Who is prudent so that he might know....

Look Into The Future
3-6-16

I did know you in the wilderness
Shaking, writing hand due to nasty instant coffee
These are the lips that taste of freedom
What have I to do anymore with idols
Ones big lie spoken out of turn
I draw the deuce of diamonds from the deck
As Edison fails at the invention of the lightbulb
By the thousand ways it did not work
O, Israel return
I will begin again
I will love them all freely
Trembling as a bird out of Egypt
To make the morning known
As first the blots spell out the letter x
Bent to merchandising to gain insight into such a weakness
Perhaps we've better start from the beginning
Of compassion and sincerity
Thankfulness and prayer
O, did it work for you?

Meat Cut Off Before Our Eyes
3-6-16

This is the face you will ever change
How shall I set thee as Zeboim for Ephraim to feed on the wind
When you arrive home you'll be best to unpack slowly
And get your feet back down on earth
A nation strong and without number
And another sweet pickled cucumber
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion
Like the noise of chariots
Of tops of mountains
Like our Dodge car syndrome
You don't see one till you own one
Our latest analogy to the grasping of these truths
In being alright in riding waves
God's grace is part of my DNA today
Where all faces shall gather blackness
Under the eyes of the sleepless
The sun is truly up and so am I.....

Write It Down
3-6-16

Write down all you want
Including money
Open window and patience
One can write many pages on this
And then six months down the road
See just what came true
Stepping out to hear the cock crow thrice
Before their face the people shall be much pained
And this is the voice of silence
What's done is done
Who knows if He will return and repent
In changing ones way of thinking
About something far out of ones control
Alas for the day!
For you shall eat in plenty
Given a goal to worry ten times less
And to just enjoy the coffee
If you want something write it down
As such responses are inexhaustible
To bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat
To see if there are any yet faithful....

beacons

Us, Beacons
3-6-16

O, hear the Word and put It into practice
Where Ephraim spake trembling
By this nicotine ultimatum
I want to lay down the law
Flaws will rise but the house built on a rock
Won't be overcome
A little bit of light goes a long way
Eight minutes it takes for the sunlight to reach the earth
I will not execute due fierceness
Of anger towards you
When we do it together
Such will be even more effective
How shall I make thee as Adman
I'm madly in anger with you
He is such because He loves us
As darkness does not drive away the light
We are as beacons to not give in without a fight...

On Hosea 10:5
3-6-16

We are called to be as lights
Each one of us with our spiritual gifts
As inhabitants of Samaria fear
Because of the calves of Beth-Aven
Many are yet not ready to hear the message
Let alone grasp it
I bit the bullet and took the bag down
To another safelanding
Of a spaceship wanting to visit Venus
It shall also be carried into Assyria
Keep on searching
We are as those who are called to overcome
In the revelation to those that overcome
I will give you this....

Our Green Noose
3-6-16

In making a to-do list
The action to take gains momentum
And the universe loves it when you are happy with it
O, take with you words
His branches shall spread
That instant coffee is a killer
But such has got me thus far
Come a new beginning
We ought to say
O, death where is your victory
As I feel my heart sink like an earthquake
As the enemy wants us to live in fear
Ashur shall not save us
Ye are our gods
For in thee the fatherless findeth mercy
Offering in Baal and left to die
As we set sail
Tell him to go back to where he came from
To see clear
O, is it just me
O, is it such a fear
Suffer it to be now
Fleeing into the country of Syria
O, chance I will be thy destination.....

flycatcher

Flycatcher
3-6-16

Of new world flycatchers
Suboscine sallying yet quite parched
Yet quite oscine as songbirds come the dawn
To announce the glory of a new day
Today is going to be another prolific one
Therefore I be unto Ephraim as a moth
and to the house of Judah as rottenness
To ossify my soft spot
Somewhat quite inflexible in habit
This morning another misnomer intentional
I can always choose to forgo it
Just think of the house you're in
And the mansion yet to claim deep down inside
The poet and the scholar
Tries to reach out to those that want to hear
Something of significance
I soon sally out again....

Burbling
3-6-16

Ask what shall I give thee
No such mask
O, will outlive thee
Divide the living child in two
Give thy servant understanding
If you walk in My ways you will know length of days
So let it be written, so let it be done
Only in ones action can one learn something
Soon we shall pass if they will suffer it
Ephraim is smitten
Their root is dried up
As the hunter finds his cottontail
Come the burbling of bribery
I see my own reflection
As a man poet that walks more and more
Burning incense to the graven image
That is right here upon this very page
The hunter finds his cottontail....

All Called To Do
3-6-16

Reframing old photographs
Of much joy and many good laughs
O, think on these things
Thankfulness is great therapy
But still we take it for granted
When Israel was a child
I loved him as My own
Time to put something else into practice
To go home and blog it
Making a list of all blessings
To but generate it
The universe loves it when we do this
We are all called to do something
Decide to say there are good things happening today
To but portray thus judgment
Spring up like a pine in due season
Always green
Today, on God I lean.....

skittle

Skittle
3-6-16

Accompanied by promises
On our journey to somewhere
Spirits are using me
So goes that Crosby, Stills and Nash song
Yes, I missed you the first time around
Because I was too timid to reach out
When the company ceased to exist
As the table come the ashtray of instant coffee
And getting too much
Hear you this, O priests
Any of us learned ye house of the inspired
Our guests with adorning are afraid
For last night's vision
I only halfway recall
God save Solomon
As Mass draws nigh
Keeping the ways so that one would prosper
In all thou shall do
We play our game of ninepins
My bad, I cheated....

On First Kings 2:11
3-6-16

Fate is mystified and heaven is now
And forevermore
If indeed we can walk the straight and narrow
O, be strong and shew yourself a man
Another nine days' wonder
In our jar of curry as first it only seemed imperative
No release from my cryonic state
Blow ye the trumpet in Gibeon
And the cornet in Ramah
And let's cut the melodrama
Voice in my head tells me to use it sparingly
Come or lean-to
And its inclined roof
I stand aloof
Whoredom and thine new wine
Take away the heart
Seven years in Hebron
And thirty-three in Jerusalem
Our hero so reigns
Let them be those whom eat at thy table
Heaven is right now...

Leap Second
3-6-16

We shew kindness to Brasilia
Come the express circle and the ring of faith
I return to my place till they acknowledge my offense
Thrusting out Abiathar from being High Priest
And in this winter house
I know not what direction is east
The floor and the winepress
Should feed us with plenty
To but intercalate another visit
For the cause of testimony
Given Abishag to wife
Of he that claims the promised land
Out for my own as Joab fled
To catch hold of the horns of the altar.....

On Ones Rivage
3-6-16

Only by pride cometh contention
The ego wants to be right
Yeah, though that they hired
Now I will gather them
Where Solomon makes affinity with Pharaoh
We tramp as we traverse
By the miracle of a land
I work her into my verse
Calling for Shimei
To build my house
For I have not yet apprehended
Come scatology out of the mouths of babes
How cute can it be
Our pride doth testify to our face
As we recline in our great high place
For what to but just to say that we did something
Rivera, the need
So we can but burn it.....

we dream

We Dream
3-1-16

We dream that the world is flat
Much like my old domesticated cat
She thinks she is a kitten and plays with her toy
O, how I hated instruction growing up
I didn't care enough
For jealousy is the rage of a man
He will not regard the ransom
Need treatment?
Focus on His grace
As Jesus taught mindfulness
O, such a scary word
As of today
When what we feed gets bigger
And another four pound bag of sugar
By grace through faith we are saved
Take a look at it from a different angle
O, how I fall short
Good therapy is thankfulness and compassion
To put something else into practice
And do something with it....

Assuredly
3-6-16

Assuredly Solomon will reign after me
To sit on my throne
God has a plan in this
When for a ditty it's time to reckon to Newstead
Blowing the universe into all that is made to be
At the chime of four
Instant coffee is served
Horrible stuff but it does the trick
Fears grow when we feed them
Such quotes of love and knowing its potential
Release, release
Will my eyes see it straight on
Something meaningful if fixing itself
O, cause Solomon to ride on my own mule
As we keep it old school
And Zadok takes up our horn of oil
Now it's time to live....

For He, The Bell Tolls
3-6-16

For we commit falsehood
And the thief is come in
The people piped and rejoiced
With great joy for He hath torn
And He will heal us
Ghosts with Adonijah
Were afraid of the vision
Seen by another crazy dreamer
For whom the bell tolls
So is this insane
Early Sunday morning
Absent from where I ought to be
Catching a hold of the horns of the altar
But no such burnt sacrifice save myself
And when Ephraim saw his sickness
He could not cure your wound
As time marches on
The clock does its own thing
Where life is measured out in moments
Ephraim is a cake not turned....

flaccid

Flaccid
3-1-16

Give us seven days respite
That we might send messengers  unto her coasts
Taken a yoke of oxen to hew them in pieces
We come out with one consent
O, desert speak to my heart in Bezek
O, elders of Jabesh
Get it while it's hot and fresh
Maker of children that weep for love
In flabbergasting firmaments
And astounding flaccid soft and limp
Still lacking determination
O, why do you still cut yourself so short
And spread yourself too thin....

Right On
3-1-16

Tomorrow we come out to you and surrender
Do with us that which seems good
By base metals  and wet wood
Not made for burning
But yet for learning
On the morrow
I put my pens in seven companies
Without applying them to the page
Scattered so that two are not left together
We gat much heat and are consoled
David old and stricken in years
Seeming a damsel to find Abishag
Today we lived a thousand years
But all we have is now
Bearing one more after Absalom
With horsemen to run before him
O, so gracefully for Rei and for Shimei
We learn of men and old names
Of those who would stand out in the crowd
Let thine eyes look right on.....

Callus On Ones Thumb
3-1-16

Our hap between faith and works
O, so sore  where the poet lurks
A callus on his thumb
As if born deaf, blind and dumb
For prayer and for petition
Pull up another chair when you're in the right condition
Not to meet the right criteria
Worrying about an overdraw is good stress
We face the facts and all wrongdoing creates
All ado about something
Run to the water and find me there
Let go of the idea of the battle inside
Where grace comes into play
To exceed all pride
Big lie says if you can get that next thing
You'd be at peace
When all is right here and now
Let go of the idea
And shoot for emancipation.....

instant ground

Instant Ground
3-1-16

His flagship still probes
And rends our rocky coast
I quote Robert Frost
As one today to admire the most
Under God lest any man boast
For crowbar and jimmy
This distance is dreaming
We pry open our pickle jar
But we find that we don't get very far
A firm delivered in this cultivation
Take hold of instruction
To keep one from destruction
In a need to be in the presence
Gathering up my muses
Not as imaginative forces
In endless resources
For the instant ground
And the shredded leaf
Don't ask why, go and come again
This was my honest mistake for the pen....

"Love Will Make Us Men"
3-1-16

Working the wind
In lurking where we have sinned
I pray that my man is on tonight
So I can rest assured to be in good hands
A new and better way to Indy
Am I real or just a talker
Wanting to be a walker
The tears climb back into my tinged eyes
All for a grain of sand
Nothing next to the rest of forever
Living on memories in this endeavor
As those that recognize the face
Drawing from four cisterns at one time
By God's grace
I've just got to break these bricks
We ask from where it is
Hard to kick against the pricks
It's the course of the blindman
Love will overcome
I get better at the game of presence
Not as a spectator sport
By my superficial actions seen
Light will draw us in......

playground

(The Mind Is A) Playground For Everything
3-1-16

The zeal will return what is real
We are yet to learn the mind is a playground for everything
With a love that's always true
Without one trinket from Ormuz
We hope to hear his words of peach fuzz
Dreaming of sycamore for a newfangled aroma
I can't is just a lie from the devil
When the time is right
Come and see yet incongruent
Of what God thinks not natural
To be patient or even kind
Love, joy and peace
The fruit of the Spirit
Saving the Queen from family censure
Poetry is words put into deeds
To minister to their needs
Agenda today, watch and pray
Hope and cope
Brother Ken is filling in
I pray for his words to have free course....

Drop Of Sweat
3-1-16

Tomorrow I am true to myself
In being present while absent
Where all these wars are over
Love will lead us
More than a Moses' Exodus to practice
Defined as do
Turning off a mere degree
Dennis is in Tennessee
I say a prayer for him with groaning
In my crucifixion
In these bodies of clay
Practice connecting
God loves you
Where stigma and consolation
Are as the intersection
Not about trying to meet the right criteria
God is not my jailer but my vindicator
We are called to be something and I do just this
Feeling a drop of perspiration down my chest
Quite natural
And so put off your heavy day
Fooling Valladolid
If only we may....

mist speaks

Mist Speaks
3-1-16

I give them up for lost
The street we carefully crossed
Are you getting any of this
Or do you still chase after bliss
The mist speaks and so does the smoke
They often do when they go broke
I'm sentimental if you know what I mean
Medicine by trial and error
By the inner kindred spirit of an inner cage
I dig the seminar of the intelligent conversation
Going on over there closed for well being
Our chances to chide I'll need choose
If I come here tomorrow or not
For lack of sun yet in its excess
To be engulfed in its beauty
Perseverance is my Christian duty
Hear, ye children
Leave the road to Me....

Nelson Sings Gershwin
3-1-16

Taking up Munson
Without even knowing what it means
Not even literally a man of means
Of that of flowers for two hundred dollars
Reformation of poetry words that have become deeds
I love this like fleshly read
Being both alive and dead
Filling the boarding houses and motels
Of the nation's capital in motions vague
My spiritual grandfather tells me
To simply let it unfold
New Willie Nelson album is out
He sings Gershwin
New recordings from the year of '16
Ancient history in the future
The shade of leaves
Will show beneath the spread of snow
So mousy and so foxy
America is hard to see
In these even with 20/20 vision...

Not Just Wishful Thinking
3-1-16

Had but Columbus known enough
Joy is not due to ones stuff
And the dances so graceful
As flagships unsaid are as ghosts
Called to be as supernatural
So are we here, now and today
Natural doesn't mean it's right
There is no successful revolution
Sermon: overcoming stress through Thanksgiving
All for intervention not just wishful thinking
But according to his will
As you will be His agent
Right here on earth
The pressure is taken off
In that we don't need to earn it for ourselves
Keep thy heart with all diligence
Happy is the man that findeth wisdom
I experience the Irish cream
As she goes on down
Not just wishful thinking....

brackets

Brackets
4-14-16

Brackets often as disputed
Be sure not to sing it too slow
To know what they're doing it for
Omitting words to repentance to he who is vile
Not civilized as several souls coming soon again
I quench the qualms of pain
Men of Israel rule over us
For thou deliver us from the hand of the Midian
Living like a king for birds and all creation
See that no one knows it
The harvest is truly plentiful
But laborers are few
Make room for the girl is not dead
But sleeping....

Oersted (Dyne)
4-15-16

Friday the fifteenth means more good luck
Out where the river broke
So is swimming another dabbling duck
Men of Israel to Gideon
O, rule over us
Where I declare a request for well being
Our Odyssey filled with adventure and hardships
To come to terms
And to come to grips
Directed overall to the magnetic pole of unit strength
Undergoing a force of one dyne
In a vacuum
I make it mine
On the acceleration
Of one centimeter per second
Love's mysteries in souls do groan
It's time to give it back...

Farce
4-15-16

If the skies grow dark with rain
Can you tell me does our freedom remain
Gideon made an ephod
To put it in his city of Ophrah
And all Israel goes awhoring after it
Much love to the covenant
Midian was subdued
And Jerubbaal dwelt in his own house
In polytheistic and polygamous times
As our blood labors to beget saints
As like souls as it can
I am still a lonely man
Reporting to electronics 104
By our Vaudeville folk songs
To our bodily tone we then carry monumental images.....

Apolune

Apolune
4-14-16

Beat down the tower of Penuel
slay the men of another city
Teaching men of Succoth our hap
Ones luck and lot
Our occurrence and accident
To have the wisdom to be free
It's good to be home with the music playing
Saying to Zebah and Zalmunna
We've got places to go and people to see
"What manner of men were they whom ye slew at Tabor
"You know that I'll always be there"
Not supposed to care
Then answer as thou art
So were they saying together
"Up and slay them"....

On Matthew 9:12,13
4-14-16

Which is easier to say
Your sins be forgiven
Or say arise and walk
Why think ye evil in your hearts
For power and authority
We take up the truth bit by bit
Those who are well are in no need for a physician
Go and learn what this means
I desire mercy and not sacrifice
O, why does the Teacher dine with tax collectors
All for the apologetics of jealous lovers
Because we were yet as youths
Dying in time
We meant no one no harm
Taking away ornaments on camels' necks
And so we cried....

Golden Earrings
4-14-16

Gideon arose
And Jesus knows
Might thence a new connection
Take a single violet transparent
To fake and make
To the tune of a single drum
Our loved are lost at sea
As Ishmaelites are as protocol
For Pharisees, the separated
Flying with eyes that were blind
There when the deal goes down
I have earned my wings
Whose presence is conceived
And nature is revealed
Do you believe that I am able to do this
According to your faith let it be to you
Whose duty is fulfilled.....

deserts crossed

Deserts Crossed
4-14-16

Sundown and yellow moon
I know every scene by heart
O, coffee sugar lump
Tell her she can look me up
Cut down the tree and leave the roots and stump
Needing no longer to be lost
For I am found as deserts are crossed
Not taken to much wine
Not double tongued nor such a sign
Foxes have holes and birds have nests
And I have my den to dwell in
Stepping out every once in awhile
He, Himself took our infirmities
And bore our sicknesses
I take too much for granted in such a shelter
Where I spin my wheels in the mud....

Hold Steadfast Adherence
4-14-16

When the time comes that I'll be out and about
Love will return in that we have much to learn
Of buckets of rain
You don't want to be a stumbling block
Nor drive your neighbors insane
O, may the music serve it purpose
O, my God that inspired their writing
Of songs of renewal
O, little red wagon
I love the way you see
The good still inside of me
Are you fearful
O, ye of little faith
Discipleship is tested
And our time and talent is invested
Ministry: not to seek position
Nor recognition.....

Blameless (Not Sinless)
4-14-16

O, hope of life
Where we cope with strife
Great is the mystery of godliness
To pour fresh rivers on you
From the land and sea
Such is the great divider of the world today
Let us first be proved
Not a novice to be tried and tested
Does no one at all feel this way in the least
O, hold steadfast adherence
For the bark at the Cherokee
And the secret she keeps
This ecstasy doth but up perplex
Casting out spirits at Gergasa
Taking thorns of the wilderness with the raspberries
Quite ripe....

no go

I Was Hoping For A No Go
4-14-16

Like a shelter seeking only consolation
Soon I turn it over to Stills and Young
God willing
Just chilling
This is life
Should I make haste
Or should I stay on ground level
In shine or rain
Come the darkest and the coolest hour
Right before the dawn
Since you've been gone
Opera can be just as wicked as rock and roll
To struggle through barbed wire
Calling for four to seven overnight
In another time and place
Look at the sun sinking like a ship
I start out my tomorrow
With diesel and dust
For hope of life
Another first impression.....

To Want To Serve
4-14-16

"Drinks foe everyone", he said
I need not doubt
O, do I prefer the haddock over trout
Lily had two queens
She is looking for a third
To match her pair
As in life I will learn to bear strife
And to discern yet another hope
And new ways to manage and cope
A king without a crown
I spend the day my way
Even when I get on down
Go your way as you've believed
So let it be done for you
Come such an attraction
Our Centurion
Where the number of disciples are multiplied.....

Hope For Windfall
4-14-16

We got off with quite a haul
Business back in town
Hoping for my windfall
Our skies today are blue
Never mind the memories of alcohol
One ought to desire to be as a servant
Thinking about Rosemary
And another rare Dead tune
The Bible is the final authority
And I get back in there soon
Seven are chosen of good report
As dew on the lawn is frozen
And the morning is cut short
If you see her say hello
And admonish and exhort
Most wasted statement
"Don't tell anyone I told you"
Follow me and let the dead bury their own
I am wiling, be thou clean....

use your word

Use Your Word
4-14-16

I'm no good without me
Walking a ragged mile
Looking for someone to be a blessing to
God have me to shine today
Tugging at my own sleeve
O, how will I escape
Blood brother has got your mare
O, please send me a friend
Of when I make the initiation
Today on the man of the world
I only remember five of the eight wonders
Wake her up with that white chocolate Easter bunny
O, use your word and of such write something new
No voting next Tuesday
It's too late
I'm registered republican
To be the hypotenuse
Be of good cheer
Your sins are forgiven...

Chortle (A Spanking)
4-14-16

Hunting her down by the water front docks
To affections and to facilities into twenty fifteen
More insane journaling
My greatest ideas come when I am indisposed
Thinking about lobster with Mother
Looking not on ones own interests
But that of others
His preaching can be like a spanking
So I would chortle
Singing a song like a bird seemingly immortal
All that you can hear
We live in a culture of judgment
And that's not church
Tea didn't do it for me
Arise take up the pallet and walk
Why do you think evil in your hearts....

Eye Opener
4-14-16

Spur of the moment
Crack of the dawn eye opener
Dew on the lawn
The potion for motion
And the thought stems the emotion
Spring water in our mountain bosom
Swells down the backroads heading north
So I can pour my blessings forth
I wouldn't break my neck over it, man
O, who was Ephesus
But someone I didn't quite know at the time
Back in the ditch with blood on your saddle
Seven poems already at four in the morning
Another dream of waking
Lord, what can I do for you in this
Because it hurts to remember
The reminiscing brings me down....

Get Out Of Bed At Five
4-14-16

Put on a little Dylan
Kissed by the howling dealt
And the pain I rise above
For days of glory
And all nighters of splendor
O, they tell me the where and when  and the why
And the who will take care of itself
In missing you at the chime of one
I open a window until the day is done
As memories steam my brain
And another war is won
Between the den and its surface
For dragon clouds breathing fire to stay afloat
This is life
Get up out of bed and make the coffee
Before I step back in from my first smoke...

tap water

Tap Water
3-24-14

Sounding out the Word in a place called there
When all there really is is here and now
Believing in Macedonia and Achaia
Sounding out the Word in every place
The sole of our feet doth tread
Setting aside my coffee to drink only tap water
Where Saul has slain his thousands
Yet David his ten thousands
Where it is up to God just who is greater
Under this beautiful firmament in its expanse
According to our Creator
By which Saul in his jealousy
Wants to kill him
Sounding out this Word
When I go back to the west end of town tomorrow....

I'll Have The Soup
3-24-14

Transpacific terrapins make good soup
By ones sarong
According to what is right and wrong
Where Saul wanted to pin David to the wall
By reason of his music
Thinking to be more tall
Where transatlantic alligators are angry
By reason of not finding their meat
And I am quite ready for air conditioners
And this summer heat
Yet David escapes his presence twice
As we play the game here and roll the dice
Yet Saul was afraid of him
In that he behaves himself wisely
And so our God is with him.....

skole otium

Skole Otium
3-24-14

Our abundance is real
Where our lack is but an illusion
Not according to what we feel
For God is not the author of confusion
Choosing to stand my ground in facing the music
Observing what I come to accept in such intrusion
Where the bad news is that the times flies
And the good news is you are not the pilot
By these beautiful hues of crimson, indigo and violet
Being today the prayer warrior for even the hell raiser
Being today the watcher and the witness
Like an angel looking after you
By this leisure time of my Skole Otium
Free from all other obligations
So that I might prophesy here by this pen....

Growing It
3-24-14

Through Him I live by increase
But in me I die
Where I must decrease
Go and find out what this means
And He will have mercy
As so transcending is our peace
She said that someday I could be a great poet
And here I am being one to reach out to you
Even if I don't quite know it
As David behaves himself wisely
Where in field plentiful
I am yet to grow it
As to live is Christ
And to die is gain
On a sunshiny day such as now
Where I am to accept it
Even if it were to rain....

On First Thessalonians 1:1-6
3-24-14

Flipping over to First Thessalonians
Grace to you and peace from God the Father and in Jesus
The enemy is afraid of this cast back into the pit where he came from
Where today I pray without ceasing to the beat of the drum
As I give thanks always for you
Making mention of you in my prayers
Knowing our election and free choice
Not in Word only but in the power of the Holy Ghost
With much assurance
This will be my plan of today
Like a festive occasion
And another beautiful occurrence
As you know what manner of men we are among you
Where you become followers of us in joining of forces today......

Sardis

Sardis
3-24-14

Sardis was a city set on the top of a mountain
That could not be hidden
By reason of our longing
For water from our forever flowing fountain
By our sword, bow and belt
Our thirst doth yet but melt
As so comes forth a finger of a man's hand
Where my cogitations much trouble me
In hopes to come to understand
Writing this message upon my own wall
Standing barefoot in the sand
Where high tides wash over my feet
But at least I am standing on dry land
Where I have been crucified with Christ
And therefore not as one to live for only myself
Hoping to be as one to no longer live in fear or doubt....

Stepping Out Of The Way
3-24-14

Learning how to step out of the way
And let Jesus do his thing
Where it's no longer about just me
Yet I find it in me to raise my voice to sing
O, where is my enemy now
O, where is Death's sting
By this spiritual bushwhack
Where I find my golden ring
Supposing its signet to be significant
And subtle in my writing about the dead man
Of you know who
Where in this my God makes all things new
Putting to death all that I leave behind
To press forward to all that is true
Where I must decrease and He will increase
As He lives through me
Learning how to step out of the way
And let Jesus do his thing....

Insecure
3-24-14

Our ego is actually insecure
Thought of as one to boast in ones confidence
Like a millionaire I walk the streets like a beggar
Because I have forgotten all that I hold in my hand
Where true Being is not created by external things
We can but see or touch
Where our trying to be a good man is the grand illusion
To test and try the reigns of the mind
That hungers and thirsts for more
And now I am left in the silence
To think only to turn up the volume
So that I won't sink....

preference

Preference
3-24-14

If cigarettes and coffee are not my heaven
I would like to know just what is
According to that which is not seen
I see not but believe with a joy unspeakable
Keeping the oil in these lamps to shine my light in darkness
Of which is my preference
Reporting towards where I come from
In remembrance of the Word of God
And what He has done for me
Strengthening the things that remain
In rejoicing by the light of the sun
Where I have this reputation of being alive
While I am dead
According to the promise
That we will be resurrected someday.....

Avidya
3-24-14

According to my object referral
I see myself in all that is taken up
I see the true me in another coffee cup
And when you know yourself
You access the happiness at its source
Yet to behold my red heifer and my pale horse
Riding upon her into battle
But taking no force by my still small voice
That whispers, "Resist nothing"
Falling into a void for the cause
Even of self referral
To identify with my true being
Instead by the absence of true knowledge
And the presence of our wisdom
Of our daily bread....

Ode To The Heart Of Matters
3-24-14

Strengthen all that remains
That which is about to die
Being today the reaper of seeds and grains
Not one to ask of the why
But still I inquire of the higher purpose
In this writing to the heart of matters
Thinking on all that is right
Yeah, it's a sunshiny day
As seeds this poet scatters
Where we are to be that light
Just like Jesus in that He says
"You'll be alright"
Needing to keep watch and stay engaged
As Christians dead to the self and alive to love
To value the life I have in Him
Yeah, His life is in me
Within, beyond and above....

within

Within And Without
3-24-14

Sometimes the earth looks much like the kingdom
Through eyes that rove where when we trust in only ourselves
By such a fear we can choose our faith instead
In being given our daily bread
With beautiful music in ones head
For which our Savior bled
Sometimes the world might resemble His throne
In that we need not fight our giants all alone
Where the peace of God transcends all understanding
According to my other translation
Discerned by a mind willing to reach out
Praying, O help my unbelief and heal my doubt
Sometimes that which lies within
Will be likened to all that remains without...

"How Do You Do?"
3-24-14

By the killing of Stephen
The church begins to grow
But it doesn't make it right
According to all that we can come to know
Where we ought to talk about what is coming next
As we quote today the Scriptures
Given to comprehend the text
This will be as our free gift
When in the book of Acts
It seemed to be the worst time to be a Christian
Where many were martyred for this cause
Where we ought not talk of what used to be
Leaving the past behind us
Yet in my hiding and retreat
O, how do you do, so she said
To serve as the muse still in my head....

We Are Dead And Alive
3-24-14

In Christ nothing is dead
When we bring it back to life
According to such daily bread
As he doth kill and make alive
As such a faith is more than only in my head
And according to orrelations
such is a word not found in the Lexicon
Serving as my subordinate devotion
Like a side dish
O, what would you change if you could
O, make me a blessing to someone today as I should
Yet to wake up because we must die and live again
By these scribblings of my black pen
In Christ, yeah everything is alive
Where all things work for good to they whom believe....

beard

Beard
3-24-14

Catching the lamb by its beard
To but spare him in my reality
Immaterial, odd, strange and weird
As your servant kills both the lion and the bear
Where I am no longer as one afraid to care
Go and the Lord will be with you
So is said in sarcasm and unbelief
And so he was and he did prevail
By the love and might of the God
That will not fail
Choosing five smooth stones
From the brooks of affliction
As do I when I'm up against this addition
Being one today to quote the Scriptures
Catching the lamb by its beard.....

No Sword In His Hand
3-24-14

God does not save by sword or spear
By ones faith taking up in the relinquishing
Today all unbelief and fear
As even you will know that there is a God in heaven
So be of good cheer
By our Eglon and Ashdod
We have new hopes that there is a God
Yeah, a God that makes known dark mysteries
Serving as there secrets of truth to take up today
My rod, O, I see here before me
For the battle is the Lord's
By the first slung stones of one, two and three
By our Gibeon and our Nob
We go about our travels to yet sojourn
In the land of promise
Over a feast of steak and corn on the cobb.....

Cilantro

Cilantro
7-10-13

Pejorative terms find their way to sluiced cilantros
Bitter yet in their sweetness quite decadent
Like pejorative terms which I define
Without knowing their meaning
On my elevator to my middle ground
Treated in my solitude to the quality
Of hypnotic bass sound on another kind of trip
That leads me back to the here and now....

Caraway
7-10-13

My caraway seeds will serve the baker's needs
Scattered upon a mahogany table recently wiped clean
By a napkin put into its practical use
For the purpose of just that which is this
In my chosen smile of a conscious bliss
Where I wait for the rain to make its way through
So I can get through again to the real you....

Hope Springs Eternal
7-10-13

Hope springs eternal
And grace flows like a river
For another wanderer
That today God does succor and deliver
By the Spirit of the Comforter
That precedes the stigma
That comes in the package
Of the gift of salvation
That still I question from time to time
Trying to make sure that I'm alright
In a world uncertain......

In The Door
7-10-13

Taking up subjects ranging from the magnificent
To the mundane
Given a new taste of high hopes
By the collection of the fall of torrential rain
Where there is but one person in the door
And that is Christ that comes today with clouds
In compassion wielded
In such a love put into practice
By the act of one's will.....

mote

Mote
7-10-13

Gazing upon the mote on my blank page
Filled with the words that begin
To flow from a ready and willing conduit of inspiration
Rejoicing in mine infirmities
Sometimes we need to walk such a way
To find new intersections of such a cul-de-sac
Of ominous tracks of light struggling to peak through the clouds
Given my view of magnolia trees
Bloomed in their full green apparel and attire
Asking Him to wash me clean in the falling rain....

Swank
7-10-13

Of swagger, of style and of swank
In a philosophical sense
I fill up again my tank
In the form of an empty space
That serves its purpose
In the view of he whom looks for something sweeter
Yeah, of swagger, style and swank
I have the creator of all things today to thank
Seeming to take it all for granted
As if they will always be....

Rye
7-10-13

Gypsy men cultivate our flourishing cereal grass
Like homonyms of character quite manifest
In what we can grasp by our limited minds of flesh
Growing profusely in the Canada of my lucid dreams
Of consulting the roadmaps leading me back there
In my wanderlust of sorts in mannerisms and manifestations
Of words placed in an entirely different order
Like fishing boats tied to docks and ports
This was only an experiment
To see where the pen can take me....

shadow

Shadow
7-9-13

Secular humanism
Was said to be the shadow of the Prince of power
Of the air anointed with the oil of gladness
Above my fellow comraderies
Wherein is love on the next level of madness
Knowing not where to go from here
Coping with this sadness
Where Nebuchadnezzar is the picture of the world we know....

The World To Come
7-9-13

The world to come whereof we speak
So is beautiful
In that blessed are the meek
As such is not a sign of the infirmity of the weak
In that the world to come
That we do not yet see
Is like a golden key
To unlock the door to the real me
Whereas the world to come
If seen by eyes that are yet willing
To be opened....

Blessed Rain
7-10-13

God bless the sidewalks
The streets and the grass and trees
It's a beautiful day even if it's raining, so I said
And she says that these are just idle and futile words
Upon which I get down on my knees
Yeah, it's a new day
And I'm back where I ought to be
In life being the observer
To behold the beauty all around me
Where the Sun takes his smoke break....

On Hebrews 3:1
7-10-13

Being a partaker of a heavenly calling
In that some are lukewarm
And to God appalling
Don't want to be amongst such
Spewed out of his mouth like a wad of gum
That lost its flavor
Yet I am not one to judge such matters
Where the weather will work for the husbandman
And for his favor
And so it's a new day
In that I hope the salt doesn't lose its savor.....

Methuselah

Methuselah
7-8-13

Methuselahs are yet to thrive
Knowing the miracle in that they are still alive
Knowing the light at the end of the tunnel
With faith and trust that I will survive
To consider Methuselahs
To learn what this can mean
Where in another translation
It is said that the horse was green
To win the race that I wager upon
In my faith that indeed again I will.....

Inclination
7-8-13

Today my princes, dauphins and kings dream while awake
Of ordering mild chicken wings
Yet choose to fast according to the inclination
Of being here and now at last
Inclining an ear to the herald angel that sings
Coming in the manifestation of one of convention and originality
Hoping to hang in there where one can take a leave of absence from reality
With his hap and lot just to make it through...

Party
7-9-13

Ecumenical gatherings
Dispute whether or not Jesus spoke English
Where everyone sees it on different levels of discernment
Remembering not here the first three words I was going to begin
Here with of ecumenical gatherings
Around the table of seven
Treated to prime ribs with extra napkins
When it gets messy....

teff

Teff  And Coddle
1-1-16

Of Teff and love grass
Connect my fondues
All for my wee lass
For cereal grass and livestock courage
There is a place in my heart for you
Who shall bemoan thee
Who shall go aside to ask how thou do
Paul is reckoned by Roman Praetors
And a Philippian jailer find his way
Now art gone backward
Today it seems just like a dream
Time for another post
And no significant cities
On the Black Sea coast
That the Christ had to suffer
For our politicos washed away like mud
To coddle and to treat indulgently
In times of luster waiting for the flood....

To Fan And Winnow
1-1-16

For ardent devotees
For enthusiasts to fire an automatic gun
In its continuous sweep
To separate chaff by means of the current of air
To rid of undesired parts
To examine closely
To separate the good from the bad
O, what must I be to be saved
Washing their stripes
Walking around with bedhead
The magistrates have sent to let you go
They have beaten us openly and still we say no
For Paul and Silas at Berea
Their widows are increased
To me above the land of the seas
In tacit conversation
A spoiler at noonday......

I Earn My Pistareen
1-2-16

A holler reckless
A fortuneteller for scalawags
Natural, a reprobate
Time for another post
Life has left its mark given
The angle trisected ultramarine
Our blue pigment made from powdered
Lapis Lazuli
Up at four to earn my pistareen
She that hath borne seven doth languish
Her sun is gone down while it was yet day
And coffee is served
Where our seller overreacts
To our purplish blue hue
Of all that is new in me and you.....

Get The Grist
1-2-16

It was to be today
So I make the morning last
Every one of them doth curse me
Confounded and ashamed
Yet among the blessed named
Shall iron break the brethren
Iron and steel as what we think
Doth permeate what we feel
For epical effervescence
We get the grist and grain for grindiple
And another rosebush of rude rumination
Our flowering shrub
And later on I get my Java
Verily it shall be hell with the remnant
Edify for our ecclesia
Paul visits Thessalonica
And church is founded there....

teaser

Teaser
1-1-16

Votary bound to vows of religious service
Devoted to the leader and the ideal impertinent
I'm at it again getting an answer from last night's dream
I went to jail for talking to a girl
Not my brother stepping out courageous
I want to turn my life around
Lead me on unto the poor
Into Troas where we seek for more
Don't turn away
O, our teaser tells it like it is
And my cat does her thing
After I give her a handful of treats
A puzzling problem and another cup of coffee
Sword to slay and dogs to tear
Fowls of heaven
Beasts of earth
Another welcome back
Tell me why!

On Jeremiah 15:6
1-1-16

Causing her to be replanted
I can see that it must be love
Because of Manasseh
Son of Hezekiah
Don't you want to hold me
To devour and destroy
And to be a growing boy
Sweet suffering and love and protection
We need it
O, Quincy, ones quip
Promoted by the occasion
I scribble these lyrics out of nowhere
To but caudle yet tacit
Inferred by actions silent
O, Quarry what have you been up to in times between
Time for another post
Thou art gone backward
I am weary with repenting....

open your eyes

Open Your Eyes
1-1-16

Experience everything
But don't let the land slide
Assurance, fulfilment
To know and ascertain
I don't bother to draw the curtain
They all see me naked for two and a half seconds
On my way to my morning bath
Even a single word or phrase
May be the key to your answer
I give you everything I have
But hold back ten dollars of the price for vice
Ask your inner voice the question
Open your eyes and start writing what comes to you
Paul enters Europe to go into Philippi
Running after you
Nothing can separate us from His love....

Happy Flaming New Year
1-1-16

Slack to the rights of mankind
An answer to the dream
It's always going to be
The one you feel is there
For the order of the sun
Whither small
We go forth come Sunday
Again I go north
One mile to my rocking congregation
Among the vanities of the Gentiles
Given access to many new crazy hairstyles
Can the heavens bring showers
Or can our sowers pack their dowers
Joining Paul's company
We travel into Philippi
And further into Neapolis
Go there and see.....

manufacturer

Manufacturer
1-1-16

He said, "I stutter"
But who made your mouth and your tongue
Wide open my shutter
Timothy circumcised and added to the missionary party
Forty-two years young
A good idea put to a twenty dollar bill in a bible
And give it to someone
Others do not determine your potential
Why it is unwise to compare yourself with others
Like a car God is our manufacturer
Who told you that you were naked
When you delight yourself in Him
He will give you the desires of your heart
The Macedonian vision
Luke joins the party....

Ascertain
1-1-16

slept in till two
Oft refreshed
You say you don't want to chance it
Time to drink up the coffee
Don't want to pour it down the drain
On New Years Day, no rain
Reading First Thessalonians
Just to fill in the time
I would have given you everything I had
But I held back ten dollars of the price
You got burnt so you took what you needed
I don't know why I would dream of this
Slept till two back from another visit
with no such conclusion.....

handpicked

Handpicked
1-1-16

Remembering Indiana Jones
You have chosen wisely and found the right cup
Observing a cat hair on my bible page to remind me of Grace
Like a good apple, by God I am handpicked
Starting out the day with Floyd bootlegs
Yet to enter into a bloodline
Reading Ezra
Theme: return of the remnant
I pray that my night serves a purpose
For our Cyrus and our sun
Proclaiming that the temple be rebuilt
While we're still on the run
Where another python constricts....

Spirit Guides To Troas
1-1-16

My rump was getting sore
Sitting on the sidewalk
While waiting for my ride
I have the whole weekend ahead of me
To do my thing practicing my freedom of religion
Having never learned our amendments
On the corner of Market and Queen
I blow that scene
All for coffee and scintillating conversation
Lingering and loitering
She gave me a book to be a witness
About becoming the real me
Gazing across my street
Seeing that all along it is safe to venture out
For a morning fix.....

Jotting Down Notes
1-1-16

Jotting down notes involving the street life for one hour
To see how the other half live
Given my wage before my face
Seeing that life is sweet
On the first morning of the new year
Keep the hope that God has another seed
You have the DNA of Almighty God
You come from a long line of champions
Out for a quick fix and that's an order
He'd turn your circumstances around
And use them to your advantage
Slept into eleven, oft refreshed
Ambiguous
Jotting down notes....

Back Up At Eleven
1-1-16

Keep hope that God has another seed for me to sow
Manage and cope that the rod has another reed yet to know
Take Him at His word
We will deliver thee
Out of our greatest rejection
Comes our greatest direction
O, what do I play next
As if in the resurrection
If convicted swaggering into the relationship with God
Commanded so you can be filled with joy
Like the oak tree when planted in a pot
Its growth is limited
Others do not determine your potential
I've got a friend somewhere....

Pas Dammam

Pas Dammam
3-24-14

Right here and now
We can have this power
As life is but a vapor
Of withering blades of our grass
And our fading flower
As my still small voice whispers
I hope you'll understand
And so today this I will do
If the Good Lord wills
By the sunshine the poet savors
And the time he kills
O, what have I done now
O, is there not a cause
For these coffee spills
According to our Pas Dammam
Yeah, look it up and you will see the light
And realize it's not by our own might
But by His grace like light by which to write....

On First Samuel 17:32
3-24-14

O, let no man's heart fail
O, look to the ant and to the snail
He's slow on his way
But at least he's moving in the right direction
According to our ephah of dried grain
So we are given our former and latter rain
To appease these distances of pleasure and pain
As signs to tell the poet that he's still alive
O, let no man's heart fail
For your servant will go and fight
As such a giant defies the people of God today
Serving as something that but proves me
In this terrible and wonderful wilderness in which I stand....

by nature

By Nature
3-24-14

Pessimistic by nature
Optimistic by faith
Supernatural is the only way we can please him today
O, I wish them well today
As so like animals
Fear is our most natural way to live
By to yet trust in oneself
Putting on another pot of cowboy coffee
Dedicated to T.S. Elliot of my psyche
Defined as my dear soul
Where happiness depends upon the happening
And joy comes from the Lord on this sunshiny day
Wherein I take up the sword
Where the kingdom of God is at hand as in you....

Champion
3-24-14

In the valley of Elah
We still fight
Because we are the real deal
And we have every right
In that I plow through the book of First Samuel
Straight into the night as David left his supplies
In the hand of our keeper
Greeting his brothers all along the way
Fearing not to meet the reaper
In the valley of Elah we still dwell
We fight our Philistines
Drawing water from a peaceful well
Yet to meet my poetic champion
That would become my good friend
Given hopes today
That we will all be together in the end....

Sochol

Sochol
3-24-14

I have been guilty of kicking myself in the teeth
According to our heaven above and our earth beneath
Plowing into chapter seventeen
Where our giant, Goliath sets the stage
Of a trail at hand
Where the Holy Spirit gives me the gift to hear it
And understand by which the Philistines gather
where we look upon what we would rather
Drawing up our battle array
So that the pen today will show me the way
Standing on the mountain with a valley between us
Just to tell my brother that I'm doing okay
He said it was a slippery slope
But I don't see the snow on the ground today.....

Nicotine Goliath
3-24-14

Standing at nine feet six
So is my giant I fail to face
Wherein I get my fix
Fitted with his bronze helmet
Knowing today many new tricks
Where the staff of his spear is like a weaver's beam
As I come to my recollection of last night's dream
Of being nothing but a fisherman
Casting in his line upon a stony stream
Drenching my pack of smokes in my shirt pocket
As our Goliath is defined as our exile
And we take up such an illustration
As if it were going out of style
Taking out ten loaves up upon the hill
Hoping that there is a higher purpose in this
And praying that these words will do God's will....

Head Cheese
3-24-14

Go and run to your brothers at their camp
Sitting out at the picnic table
Where my vesture grows moist and damp
Still writing my rhymes according to their mass production
Given the comfort of this intermission
Yet to carry these ten cheeses to the captain of their thousand
O, is that a parable or a very subtle joke
And the voice answers no joke but a picture
By the blowing of heavenly smoke
O, I love you Lord today
And I seek you early
Yet to see how my brothers fare
Being as one not afraid to care.....

exploit

Exploit
3-24-14

The Lord does not see as man sees
Looking upon the heart
And not on the physical stature
Like another beautiful mind that this poet frees
As he is ruddy, good looking and bright-eyed
According to the fact that today again I lied
Arise now and anoint him
For which the priest hath cried
As Samuel doth rise up to go to Ramah
Where I prefer my mushrooms fried
To yet perform my great exploit
Returning to my Bethlehem to yet come and see
As the Lord does not see as man sees....

Harp
3-24-14

O, command your servants
To bring a man who is skillful in playing the harp
Being as one to yet flounder and carp
To discuss the matters of music
Of which many have their opinion
Whether such is secular or sacred
O, who's to say in such a matter
Of the inclined ear to be one to live by faith
That doth dissolve all fear
By which Saul sends his messengers
In that I made my way through one more year
And just as well two, three and four
O, send me to your son
Whom is keeping the sheep
As on all sides we are given rest from war....

beloved

Beloved
3-24-14

Fill your horn with oil and go anoint this tabernacle
And know it is you, my friend
For weal or for woe
Inviting our Jesse to the sacrifice
Where on so must go the show
Yea, I love you all
Even if I could not be there to see it
O, do you come peaceably
By the coldness of my right great toe
Basking in my morning smoke and joe
According to a man after God's own heart
Yet to be the next king
In making a fresh new start
Fill your horn with oil and go there tomorrow
Looking not upon ones physical stature
But on the heart....

Beloved Part 2
3-24-14

The youngest of sons keep the sheep
Being as the chosen in matters dark and deep
As by faith I take the first steps
In another nimble and graceful leap
O, send and bring him hither
as a soul doth both flourish and yet wither
Whose skill is upon the harp
To make music in the ears of they whom are pleased by it
Whose valor is in combat for the cause of what is right
Plowing my way through First Samuel straight into the night....

grope

Grope
3-24-14

The God of patience and consolation
Doth grant you to be likeminded
To read the same book
And to walk the same paths
According to my book here yet binded
Where we can be as brothers
Even if we're not twins
Regarding where we stumble
Upon our own besetting sins
Where these things written aforetime
Are here but for our learning
That through patience and the comfort of the Scripture
We might have hope
By the still and small voice that whispers
Do what is in your hand here and now to cope
For Christ pleased not himself to be made High Priest
As still in the darkness
I feel my way and grope....

Well Studied
3-24-14

O, pardon today, my God, where I go wrong
And be thou with my pen
So I can write this new song
For I will not return with you
Unless you repent and quit ye like men and be strong
These word have pricked me to the heart
Rejected from the beginning and left out
To hide between my walls and to study my doubt
O, pardon today where I fall short
O, justify my wickedness
So that these small words will yet exhort
Where Samuel mourns for Saul
Regretting that he made him king
According to this history
Well studied by he with pen in hand
O, Lord have mercy....

Fertile
3-24-14

Still possessive about my cat
Walking all over my place of study
Treating her like a queen named the Grace of God
Of a Christ still bloody
Moving onto chapter sixteen
According to the Jesse defined as the gift
Being as his lineage upon riverbanks fertile and muddy
As Samuel is sent again to Bethlehem
With a complexion wholesome and ruddy
Knowing not where to go from here
Where there is no middle ground
Where we live in faith or in fear
As your sword hath made many women childless
No longer barren is the womb of which we now speak
O, how long will I mourn in the humbling of myself yet meek....

Amelek

Amelek
3-24-14

I will be today the intercessor
Of those at the party that I choose to be absent from
Being one to yet disperse to finches
My pumpernickel breadcrumb
Declining from the proposition
Following the beat of my own drum
Taking my Amalekites alive
Being as one to yet prevail and survive
Destroying my giants with the edge of the sword
To go to sleep and again yet revive
I will be today the intercessor
Where the Kenites have departed
Saying blessings upon their slices sweet and of five
This is that which I will do my part
And pray for them to serve as my work of art....

It's All Me
3-24-14

Our Saul sets up a memorial for himself
Just what the devil wants
To regard our own reflections with high esteem
Where I recall in clarity
Last night's math class dream
Going down to Gilgal
To bask in my forever flowing warm stream
O, what is the meaning of the bleating of the sheep
O, what does it mean yet to be as one to be quiet
Being as one to have not need to make the scene
O, why did you swoop down upon the spoil
But to be one to receive it
By the gospel today that is my only agenda....

smell the coffee

Time To Get Up And Smell The Coffee
10-25-04

And so I seize the moment of this blessing
Of mid month as soon as I am to welcome a new year
And I give the Lord thanks with utterance
And my might for all I so come to see and hear
And tonight I take up my pen and praise Him
With black and blue ink
And I will celebrate this liberty
In my thoughts as well as the freedom
To, as an individual, think
And gratifying so was my awakening
As the dream was thorough and complete
And by faith I pull down the covers
And upon my floor plant my feet
And in order to with confidence start the day out
To my coffee table I am shown the way
And open the book of verses of exhortation
So I can begin to live right
And where it seems to look dreary and bleak
So much greater is grace and sight.....

During The Sermon
10-25-04

And it is written
That by God all things are made
And there is no such thing as the latest invention
As it is the things like these that might make us proud
and we are told that from pride comes contention
And it is the nature of this flesh to quarrel and to fight
And this is why I'll remain silent and listen to my music when I write
And during the sermon there are so many notes to be taken
But I cannot write any faster
As so my orange juice carton is shaken
As it is handwriting neat that was never patient enough to master
But when you pray for such patience then you'll be asking for trouble and trials
So instead I pray for fluency and drag this pen along ten more miles....

Nothing Is Consistent
10-25-04

And I am yet to embark on a new search
As I learn of safety and submission
As I can hardly wait to go on back to church
As I let it up to Jesus
Whether or not he'll give me a higher position
And this is not for the purpose of the spotlight upon my face
For truth is the real reward here along with wisdom and grace
And still in solace we can see how our life can be strange
For everything we touch and see is liable and subject to change
And day to day
And year to year nothing is consistent
But still we are obligated to move forward
Determined and persistent....

time for grub

Time For Grub
10-24-04

And so I will search my spirit
To see if I can find a hue and flavor that will suit
As miracles go on all around us
When the trees so yield their fruit
And as well the land will yield her sustenance and increase
As we'll strive for the mastery of love, joy and peace
And still we will measure the good stuff
In units of scruples and drams
As watching television late at night can make one hunger
With its advertising scams
As at three in the morning you view a commercial
With a close up view of burgers and fries
And you see that ten years has got behind you
And it's a wonder how time flies
So you need to do your best
And see that you live for the here and now
And be content with the fruit of the vine
And the milk of the cow....

Asking The Question, Who's We
10-24-04

And now that I've found these golden keys
And silver hewing tools
I know that I never again need feel left all alone
As I realize the benefits of writing down such commandments
And rules with no longer an intent to set up those statues of stone
And today there are so many things for us to say
But it seems we are dull of hearing
As well as dull of speech
And sometimes all we can really do is pray
And we wonder how will we one day be apt to teach
For to this day I am a man of silence
And I'm quite aloof and reserved
And I must say that at times this can be quite like violence
In seeing that bestowed upon me is more than I deserve
But I cannot complain
For my soil has been blessed with rain
And again I passed the test
For it was graded on a curve....

Where It Gets Deep
10-25-04

And so I ponder over a philosophy
That maybe indeed we have our spiritual umbilical cord
As such a source so is inexhaustible
As to be found are all treasures  of knowledge
Every day in the good Lord
And upstate New York
It seems the leaves will change sooner
As in the meantime we can count all our blessings
Of the solar and the lunar
And in the shallow waters
It might appear frivolous and superficial
But let us wade out a little further
Where it gets too deep
For here is where you can call the authenticity official
And it is known we cannot judge such a thing before it's time
For what yesterday may have seemed trifling
Today can be made to rhyme....

evidence

The Evidence
10-24-04

And if I look to the sky at dusk
I can make believe that I so behold the light of dawn
As we will have no need to market the ivory of an elephant's tusk
When we possess the blessings of warm welcomes
Of cold frost upon our front lawn
And so we show that we love in the offerings of sacrifices and gifts
As all of such faults can be mended
As sealed back up are fissures and rifts
And so sewn back together are all clefts and breaches
As we take our whole lives in learning what love is
As it is such, the Spirit so teaches
And when the sun goes down it matters no longer
If the sky was gray
As in our firmament so is evidence of creation
In its ostentatious display.....

The Trinket
10-24-04

And if we are indeed brothers
We ought not rule over one another with rigor
And if the juice we drink seems a little bit too sour
Then we ought to swallow our pride and allow ourselves to add sugar
And I went to an antique shop and picked up a coffee cup
That was older than me and I took another trip to the kitchen
To fill it again to the brim
So I can be all that I can be
But we need put our faith tonight in better things than these
For in order to get to the honey
We need to get past a swarm of bees
And we see what is sweet that can come from the lion slain
And we will look back on this with dignity
Knowing it has not been in vain....

consider

Consider
11-24-15

Consider the ravens
Consider the lilies that don't spin or toil
Consider high havens
Consider a full tank with fresh oil
Faith rearranges our priorities
If one gets saved then all of your life's work will be worthwhile
The storm has passed and now I am left with emptiness
O, sweet futility
We do you to wit
We remind you of the Grace
God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia
Without faith it is impossible to please God
Cetus one-four
Grace, mercy and peace
And above all, love
You passed the test
Consider....

Let God See It
11-24-15

Thou hast enlarged me
When I was in distress
Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling
Sleep in heavenly peace tonight
In constant longing and prayer
There might be another way of honoring God with your substance
We do you to wit
We remind you of the grace
God bestowed upon us as a mutual respect
And an admiration
Need faith for the future
Not yet in existence
Yet in emergence
Trust in the Lord
Lean not into your own understanding
By faith and not by sight
So is our fortune and might
I have followed thee
I was not grateful of well doing
I wanted more and here I am now....

Time To Kill It
11-24-15

Grace of God bestowed
On the churches of Macedonia
But o, what about it
Yet to experience a bestowal
Of God's grace to never doubt it
No coffee when I wake up tomorrow morning
Many things we hold onto in heaven will not matter
The Lord knows the way through the wilderness
For seeds to yet scatter
Our own understanding is sight
Callus on my ring finger
As I've grown accustomed today of the light
The average Christian does what he can see his way through
And that is natural
A life God is to call us beyond
Time to kill it....

gate

Through One Gate
11-24-15

Worse than being blind
To have no vision
Grace if we are willing to see it
Known in the flesh
We almost be it
Jesus comes to blow up the box
And remove the restraints
Give me wisdom to know what to say
On the way home
And I will sleep in your arms
Seemingly unfair
Why did you make me this way
We are all here by design
On purpose even in weakness and infirmity
You believe because God opens your eyes to see
The storm has passed
The mass is ended, go in peace
I am the gate for the sheep
So he wants to say to us.....

Shepherd Oversees
11-24-15

The good shepherd oversees me
Laying down his life for the sheep
As so his from shackles frees me
And we cannot delve much more deep
Not left under the carelessness of a hired hand
We lose the option to live in a dormant state of fear
At first I could not receive such a statement
But now it is good  now that I'm here
I am my Father are one
Yet to live with a bold confidence
Of their future in Christ
God empowers you to live the life He wants
As the law restrains unless it is refined by love
One flock, one shepherd, one body, one baptism
It all works out in His good timing....

countdown

Countdown
11-24-15

Thirty-one days till Christmas
I think, if I did the math right
But for what
Being a stewer
And not as a spewer
Telling the devil to shut the flip up
Reminding him of his future
God will crush him like a bug
Eternal life start now
I don't need to die for it
As a perfect example of structure and stricture
It is God's will that we believe
Rather than give into doubt
And/or fear
To believe what God said about you
In Him I am redeemed
Your faith has made you whole....

Anemic
11-24-15

Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling
O, my God be my comfort and see me through the holidays
And I will praise thee with all gladness
In this madness
Darkness is a sad way to live
In knowledge there is much sorrow
I pray that I will do much better tomorrow
Case closed, my bar is empty
Missed communion but made the offering
We unpack these statements
Praying for another good lunch with Mother
You art a shield and a lifter up of my head
Today I play the field
John chapter nine
Jesus heals a blind man from birth
Check it out, man
In the urn who will give you thanks.....

Concord

At 1300 Concord Road
4-2-16

Another synecdoche and a clean shave
When we were just boys
He did run for the hills
Another metonymy
A secret for eternity
There are limits to human knowledge
The Spirit teaches
Must it be my shame
Or can I call it my glory
Of tropes rhetorical
And devices of me lanker
Your life is your own
Hands separate for sovereignty
And the battle for strong drink
Staying out of your smoky sight
O, what irony
He'll tempt you and tell you
Saying, trucker
I want your soul
At thirteen hundred Concord
At Beer Pointe I'm tired
But I don't quite feel it....

On Proverbs 1:4 (Taking Chances)
4-2-16

Horses formerly interposed long and lean
In liturgical text
Concerning what comes next
It goes against my ego
Feeling threatened and insecure
Reporting to Autecology one o-two
And then to Synecology one o-one
In dreams of taking too long to repack my books
Writing rhymes inspired by my new church
A whole new philosophy for those that seek
As blessed are the meek
For judgement and equity
Give prudence and subtility to the naïve.....

It Works Out
4-2-16

Good things become as God things
As Spirit intercedes
For the fools' hall of fame
Don't leave me here in shame
I'll remember you
Give time to me to think
One moment will do for when loneliness is due
Another day to be inside of you
Like the love that lingereth
How can I forget fearless and bold
He might claim to be
O, make me a blessing
And may it all be for something
The general don't ride well anymore
Hoping not to mess up communion
Or spill the juice
Due to a weak arm and numbness
But it works out....

fireman

Fireman Revisited
4-2-16

I thought it was someone's driveway
But it turns out that no one lives there anymore
My key to memory of where I come from
I know it was a steep climb
But God gives strength to weary feet a'trodding
Remembering hymns that motivate amazing Grace, how sweet the sound
Nothing to have, I never rode over such a hill
Working on the assembly line of no such monetary profit
Peddling by I find that there was no such sign
Come my stanza about my favorite fireman not on my blacklist
The burden of Tyre rejoice, ye fleets
A acquire good eats
Tonight's the night....

Every Man's A King
4-2-16

In America where every man's a king
I go there tomorrow and stand up to sing
I still love you just in case you care
You know I do
Glad to hear that my distant brother was baptized
But God only knows how I put out your fire
I had fun at the mall
You should have been with us
But I understand why you decline
Making drinks and watching musick
Mindlessly doing the things I love
Isn't it worth the Montage
Only God knows for sure
You said you didn't care where
O, where.....
