I Was Hoping For A No Go
4-14-16
Like a shelter seeking only consolation
Soon I turn it over to Stills and Young
God willing
Just chilling
This is life
Should I make haste
Or should I stay on ground level
In shine or rain
Come the darkest and the coolest hour
Right before the dawn
Since you've been gone
Opera can be just as wicked as rock and roll
To struggle through barbed wire
Calling for four to seven overnight
In another time and place
Look at the sun sinking like a ship
I start out my tomorrow
With diesel and dust
For hope of life
Another first impression.....
To Want To Serve
4-14-16
"Drinks foe everyone", he said
I need not doubt
O, do I prefer the haddock over trout
Lily had two queens
She is looking for a third
To match her pair
As in life I will learn to bear strife
And to discern yet another hope
And new ways to manage and cope
A king without a crown
I spend the day my way
Even when I get on down
Go your way as you've believed
So let it be done for you
Come such an attraction
Our Centurion
Where the number of disciples are multiplied.....
Hope For Windfall
4-14-16
We got off with quite a haul
Business back in town
Hoping for my windfall
Our skies today are blue
Never mind the memories of alcohol
One ought to desire to be as a servant
Thinking about Rosemary
And another rare Dead tune
The Bible is the final authority
And I get back in there soon
Seven are chosen of good report
As dew on the lawn is frozen
And the morning is cut short
If you see her say hello
And admonish and exhort
Most wasted statement
"Don't tell anyone I told you"
Follow me and let the dead bury their own
I am wiling, be thou clean....
