Deserts Crossed
4-14-16
Sundown and yellow moon
I know every scene by heart
O, coffee sugar lump
Tell her she can look me up
Cut down the tree and leave the roots and stump
Needing no longer to be lost
For I am found as deserts are crossed
Not taken to much wine
Not double tongued nor such a sign
Foxes have holes and birds have nests
And I have my den to dwell in
Stepping out every once in awhile
He, Himself took our infirmities
And bore our sicknesses
I take too much for granted in such a shelter
Where I spin my wheels in the mud....
Hold Steadfast Adherence
4-14-16
When the time comes that I'll be out and about
Love will return in that we have much to learn
Of buckets of rain
You don't want to be a stumbling block
Nor drive your neighbors insane
O, may the music serve it purpose
O, my God that inspired their writing
Of songs of renewal
O, little red wagon
I love the way you see
The good still inside of me
Are you fearful
O, ye of little faith
Discipleship is tested
And our time and talent is invested
Ministry: not to seek position
Nor recognition.....
Blameless (Not Sinless)
4-14-16
O, hope of life
Where we cope with strife
Great is the mystery of godliness
To pour fresh rivers on you
From the land and sea
Such is the great divider of the world today
Let us first be proved
Not a novice to be tried and tested
Does no one at all feel this way in the least
O, hold steadfast adherence
For the bark at the Cherokee
And the secret she keeps
This ecstasy doth but up perplex
Casting out spirits at Gergasa
Taking thorns of the wilderness with the raspberries
Quite ripe....
