jut

Jutting Out
1-14-17

Truth is a tent of many tenements
For mended Celine literally amphetamine
And Saint Matthew passion
Carry on regardless and monk's mysteries
For trees to climb as we shake these apples
Looking for Phillip Whaler
Not seeing the verity of the situation
Given a new idea of Americana
Catch me if you can
For beauty treatment upon my face
To shine tomorrow inflated and distended
O, swelling protuberance are you
Grasping not my point for Attars to anoint unduly....

Rock On, Protuberance
1-14-17

Discerning, symbolic of pride
Never-ending this joy ride
If in the now such can be for the moment
To kill instead
As artists speak and give inspiration
But from surfaces come commendation
Lead me to the rivers of our vision
To jut and protrude
Forget not the humble or afflicted
What did you mean by self medicating
I'd like to know
As some still say
"I will never be in adversity"
Present at the thrashing
But absent in embracing
Looking good in a new photograph
Just to rock on....

Electrical The Embryo
1-14-17

O, fraud of oppression
The wicked say in their heart
God hath forgotten
Born for adversity
Electrical the embryo
O, strange tribe
And our gathering
Come enemy and thief
I don't weep to hear about it again
Come little sisters for the poor
For their excellent idea
Forget not the humble
Be not as one to stumble
Just the way the cookie will crumble
Modest and submissive
Abase and abound
Church bells ring
The night before me is stretched
To botch and bungle....

increase

The Meek Increase
12-13-04

And I am yet to consider
The marsupial and the young that grows in her pouch
And I consider much better off tonight in my studies by candlelight
As my coffee table upon my couch
And I wonder if I would ever get into the stuff on the nature channel
As I consider what it takes to fashion there nighttime garments
Of cotton, wool and flannel
And still I see a need to be meek but not weak
As still I need to learn to abase and abound
As I make every drop of water matter
In a bucket that might leak
As such swallows a thirst will quench
This thirst as sure as a grapefruit is sour and as well round
And in order to become more sharp and keen
We seek the Scriptures in the smaller hours
And pray continually
That we'll know what it could mean....

Growth Requires Change
12-13-04

And there is a thought that troubles my mind
That I believe will not be nearly as bad one month from now
And today as in time there will come healing
And through the trials so established is insight and more for me to say
And it is God that allows this inconvenience
For it is growth that so requires change
And there is a price in growing wiser
And days ahead quite evil and strange
But you will find that in time that it was well the extra trip
As in the writing of another rhyme you can speak out
And no longer need restrain that lower lip
And the words you are given, my friend,
Were meant to be set in motion and spoken out loud
So you dream and pray to one day
Take this gospel back to the ocean
And for the spreading of the Word
Give God the glory as not of yourself are you proud....

Another Collection
12-13-04

And only by way of the Spirit
Can I say that his testimonies are my delight
And this is a treasure worth holding onto
And a good enough reason to stand up and fight
And I will stick my neck out
And I will advocate this cause
And I plan to hang in there for this truth
Without fallacies or flaws
And as the plot grows thicker
The scenery ahead of me may look bleak
But I can see a silver lining
In the thought of the pages
I might occupy in a week
And of relics of these victories
I may start another collection
As for strength to press on
I'll consider again Christ's resurrection
And I am encouraged and exhorted
In the belief that the book we read is true
And I foretell brighter days
In the choosing of the black pen
Rather than the blue....

mud

Mud On My Boots
12-13-04

And in the vineyards of my sweet repetitive dreams
So is opened wide hope's door
And I am driven into the wilderness
To drink from purer streams
And taught by these examples
To steer clear from the idol portrayed as the whore
And one can go to a library to shop
Just as one might go to the supermarket to study
As One will plow through the wheat fields
To thresh of their choice crop
While in the latter rains
All of such terrains now are soaked and muddy
And these travels ahead aren't quite the best for new shoes
And in the entering back in as a guest
You'll have a fresh and new case of the blues
But you will be pardoned in time
And by and by excused and forgiven
As it was because of this that I wrote this rhyme
And because of that by which to new frontiers
I am driven....

Moving The Heavy Bags
12-13-04

And so my true day begins
As approaches again the setting of the sun
And as December begins
There is peace and plenty
As my mind is settled and at ease
To know that most of my Christmas shopping is done
And in being a Christian
The holidays mean so much more to me than the gifts under the tree
As like it were the taste of sweeter grapes
So is the spiritual state of mind that serves as a better way to be
And the tending of such verses is like the manhandling
Of these fifty pound bags of sand
And I work up a sweat in the moving of them
As there is joy to be found there when at last
I come to understand
And in this there is no finality
And when we get through our day of burden
We find no destination
So again survival and triumph
We will celebrate as our devotion
And worship will need to be more than our activity of recreation.....

How I Melt
12-13-04

And it is written
Blessed are the undefiled and the blameless
But we have our doubts that such a thing even really exists
And quite nameless
But still we will have our hope
In our supplications and prayers
As I am alone at a table for six
And for angels I am accustomed to reserve these chairs
And I am as a snowman that begins to melt
In earnest need for a new corn cobb pipe
And now that I've lost weight I need tighten my belt
As there is nourishment yet to be assimilated
When the fruit in storage is yet ripe
And with my remaining five dollars in my deep pocket
I purchase a five pound portion of seedless grapes
As heaven is not a place in space one would reach in a rocket
And the light of day is not for the purpose to shut out in the drawing of the drapes....

Maharaim

Maharaim
1-14-17

Disappearing in the freezing rain yet to be today
Call it Gilead and for meaning yet to bleed
Dwelling in the mount
O, come thee fount
None can be estranged from beauty
The hideous given their duty
As becoming deities of a foolish heart
For that most insolvent thing
Calling it Maharaim
Jacob afraid and distressed
Wicked in his pride
To persecute the poor
As for his enemies
We puff back at him
Reconciliation
Psalm ten
Good for the pen
I'm at it again
Catholicism deep in my roots
The wicked boast of his heart's desire....

Puff, The Campsite (One Good Rival)
1-14-17

Tonight I build my campsite carefully
Sending to Esau messengers
Unto the land of Seir and no such fear
Serve yourself, coffee is on
Where I break another Sabbath
By a pen a good man will lift his ewe out of the pit
For blast of emission and pig of inhalations and percolations
Tradition bear with me, he enchants
As so he whets my tie pulled till I am strangled
Yet in my church we go casually
In the country of Edom there is a Jason
And he is here among us.....

Crane And Jack
1-14-17

Written in the mid fifties
An essay of mine in a past life
And rot of inhaling
A habit I need to unlearn
Kerouac is always a good idea
As the wicked boast of his heart's desire
Casting nets into the water
Wounded in battle in July
Looking for Hart Crane, our romantic ear
Four hundred with me to go
Like a large order of fries
Tradition bear with me
Time to face the music
And hope for the best
Concerning the epidemic
Our situation seen
As the opportunity
To learn something.....

ringstraked

Ringstraked
1-14-17

Filling incessantly another cup of coffee
It is as flocks conceive and go mating
For dry lightning on the horizon
And feeble cattle next to Jacob's strong
I love that song
For cathair to brush off the page
Now unseen Laban's cattle do their own thing
Just as well for cigar-shaped arrangements of girders enclosing
And the next plague ringstraked and speckled
For peace of beautiful Spirit
And the cartilage
His countenance
Not as before another battle
In our dirty little war
Return to the land of thy kindred....

Jaeger Sahadutha
1-14-17

As Rachael steals her father's images
Stolen from the sea
I grow sugar beets for your side dish
To flee and go toward Mount Gilead
And gods according to the number of street corners
Laban catches up with those that could not see
Neither good or bad in that it just is
Calling it Jaeger Sahadutha
Dwelling in the caves
Taking up golden staves
For the nicotine another chronic craves
Upon a heap of stones
I have the rest of the present moment
For the Jesuit of orchards
And good apples tonight....

circus

Circus Time
1-14-17

Striped with bonds
Taking the rods of green poplar
We thank God for the shelter from the elements
For oils of fat pork fried crisp
Such is now increased
Stripped with bands and with white stories
Circus time has been born again
Up on that tightrope yet ringstraked
And lost aggrandizement
On the tree of knowledge
It is now increased
We steal silently away
To feel the coming of a new day
Pillar and peeled white strakes
Of the hazel and chestnut....

Hull And Strake
1-14-17

Heavy metal compared to Milton
It's all poetry to me
Taking rods of green poplar
As Laban is accessed in such suffering
Striped with bands
It is now increased our flocks conceived
Before rods making for rigid dirigible
Covered in river mud
By the lowermost portion and boatlike fuselage
In jingle bell rot and rent of another reap season
Peeling strakes in rods separating the cattle
So He can do battle
And girders enclosing pulled and peeled
The savor in the reeled
Monsignor, do your thing.....

cultivation

For Cultivation
1-14-17

Will I get lucky today
And come home to a luxurious apartment
With things to say
Now estranged from beauty across
The hardscrabble lives
That we can know for ourselves
When we delve deep enough to understand it
Sometimes the price is steep
Sometimes I delve too deep
All things work together
For good to those that love God
Until then who are called according to his purpose
Patiently wooing these hill creatures
We are God's husbandry for cultivation....

Sweet Seventeen
1-14-17

Down five trails and alcohol fixed rage
Sweet seventeen begins today
According to the beauty of change
Come the trip synonymous to experience
For the raising of livestock
And sparks fly on Market Street
By application of scientific purposes
To prevent epidemics in thrifty management
That's life as we know it
Where management is stewardship
And it all belongs to God anyway
Studying my Latin
Yet to obstruct those that want to know about it
O, trip, the reconciliation
May it be a good one at that....

Cruse Of Honey
1-14-17

Do you say your work is as like fortune telling
As application of scientific principles to arming
Ain't all that cruel truth
Under the influence of her mushrooms
We eat the apple and God made Satan
To make a man out of me
According to Rachael's son Jacob
Meaning adding
Gleaning such a padding
O, trip the light fantastic
To go dancing
Our cruse of honey
Will do the job for cracknels
In a want to leave Laban....
