weal and woe

On Matthew 23:16 4-14-14 Woe to you blind guides Weal to thee whom choose their sides Wonderful, O councellor Tomorrow is an opportunity for second chances Paying the tithe of mint, anise and cumin Not according to one's circumstances Neglecting the weightier matters of the law for justice and mercy And faith and not flaw These ye ought to have done without Leaving the others incomplete Tomorrow I walk the line by faith And I will be a man of admiring her beautiful feet Straining out a gnat to swallow a camel Catching the riff of a newfangled beat.... Gathering 4-14-14 Building again the tombs of the prophets To adorn the monuments of the righteous Building again what he did destroy In not knowing what's to be said Of such filling up the measures of your father's guilt In all resentment of past tense wine spilt Wanting to return to my vomit Like a fig tree withered and wilt Assuredly I say unto you All these things will come upon this generation Lamenting over Jerusalem O, the one whom kills the prophets And stones those whom are sent to her How often I wanted to gather them together But ye were not willing So you missed the starting gun.... Like Us 4-14-14 Like us The Corinthians have missed the starting gun As so I savor today the light of the sun Like we of common passions We can be as one Like they of higher places We have not trust in our gun And beware because all lawlessness will abound And the love of many will wax cold I will get my rest tonight So that tomorrow I will be as bold As a witness of all that I have read Of how our savior suffered and bled Israel must say Blessed is he In that God is God of the living And of the dead... Two Inquiries 4-14-14 When and what Are the disciples' two inquiries Why and how will be as the given When we solve this equation It's not rocket science It's common sense To remain in today of the present tense I still struggle with this And shout to my God O, accuser get thee hence O, tell us when these things will be Upon the mount of Olives O, what will be the sign of your coming Yet you will be hated of all nations For my name's sake And you must be one to discern the real deal From the fake Setting my coffee aside So it won't keep me tonight awake.... In The Mirror (I Like What I See) 4-14-14 Red words printed upon the page Appear to me like mirrors And I like what I see Tonight in the real me As so by the truth I am set free According to that which I cannot see Sending his angels by the sound of a trumpet Gathering together his elect from the four winds As so when the fig tree has bloomed You know that summer is nigh So O, you know that it is near As the doors of such perception Just as it is, infinite Possessing the key to yet pick the locks Of red words written upon the page That serve as mirrors And I like what I see.... Commendation 4-14-14 God commends our faithfulness Rather than our ability For it is not of ourselves That we wear this crown According to such agility We pay our debts on time Yeah, God has covered it all By words with which I make rhyme Where the It is described as the He And we are no longer bound in space or time Yes, five more hours till I can rest And then know my victory tomorrow in going west God commends our faithfulness And not our ability....
