Greeting Kahlil
1-2-18
And on that day the remnant of the seed
Will produce fruit of it's own
In waking dreams my mind is cold like stone
And this is what our Father means
As to the scattered
He knows our weaknesses
And sees our strength
Where a wise man will hear and increase in wisdom
O, have you inquired in that the body of the flesh gets tired
And the body of the Spirit is infatiguable
As observing disquieting thoughts and feeling
With divers washings and healings
As to carry its punishment within itself
Come the heartache of love signs turning into joy
As his sympathies larger than life
In turn we are partakers of the same
As all abstraction as characteristic....
Going Places (In Thought)
1-2-18
We're making it happen
Your hearts so far from me
As if you were inside of me
We're making it work
As if you held the keys to the kingdom
Taking the next step on my amazing journey
Even if it's only three miles eastward and back
For the interest of delights and our city lights
To the member of the aesthetic class
I hear the old man tells his tale
Loftier than knowledge imperiled by the sea
Stronger than desire
Such a love exceeding mine in smooth lawns
We dream of plagues of fire
And much sweeter than riches
Do we still inquire
Roofed with thick plates of brass
Time to get back to class...
Palace Remodeled
1-2-18
Translated from Arabic
A book I am about to read
To inspire what comes next
Beginning to know the cause of their disputations
Greeting Rizcallah Ferris
For the philosophy of logic
Surely I will pour it out
My spirit upon you on winding streams
And crazy dreams unfolding this genius style
Like cobblestone paved to decorate the way about our Baltimore refined
And consummate philosophy inspired by oneself
In the palace of the poet in pleasures of all piety secure and accessible
Where I want a streetlight
As to show me the dark palace remodeled
Almost time to go....
