smitten

Scattered And Smitten
1-14-18

As to overrun the land
With no place for inheritance
For colored lights I take for granted
Till four weeks from now
And love on the tide
Waist deep in pride
In my short little span of attention
Always thinking too far ahead
God give us today our daily bread
With the seed of betrayal
I hide on an inside sleeve
And I find myself praying for brother Steve
Come smell of burning rubber and God's fallen light
Following the Tigris and Euphrates
O, who named the rivers
And who wrote titles upon these stars
Of hopes seven rank ears and seven blasted
And one more tributary of taboo
As none could interpret
In an answer of peacefulness.....

Behold (Lifeline)
1-14-18

O, captain of gland of grass and trees
Take a look into my land for unusual tunes
And a month of two full moons
O, that ye would awake in the chains of children to chide
Of men of champions in the gulf of woe and weal
Seven years of plenty and seven of famine
The two dreams are as one
In the coming of patriarchs
In a want to reach the masses
As one to teach those classes
My father according to the flesh is a lifeline
As I offer no advice unwarranted in newfangled belief
I twist about in my tortoise shell
But I know I will come out of it just fine
Judge nothing before it is time....
