Keep pushing till it's understood
Under a foolish and vain hope
I still make in Irish Spring soap
Thus the holy hours of sweet emotion
Up at quarter till four for this devotion
Established in the land of Jershom
I believe in the love and the faith that does save me
How I came to it I cannot rightly say
Upon a foolish and vain hope that dies first
Where I ought to keep the thirst held high
As if to strike the keys and get back down on my knees
Dying for every hope on that summit
Just like the piper and for the venom of our favorite viper

You know I no longer loathe to taste in my mouth

I find my way to a higher kind of living
As to drop on the bay with my heel on her knee

Much is accomplished today
And the poet and scholar finally understands

As substantially subsided driving deep into the night
Accomplishing enough to deserve another good light
