alive

We Are Dead And Alive
3-24-14

In Christ
Nothing is dead
When he brings it back to life
According to such daily bread
As he doth kill and make alive
As such a faith is more than just in my head
And according to orrelations
Such is a word not found in the lexicon
Serving as my subordinate devotion
Like a side dish
O, what would you change if you could
O, make me a blessing to someone
Today as I should
Yet to wake up
Because we must die
And live again
By these scribblings of my black pen
In Christ, yeah, everything is alive
Where all things work for good
To they whom believe...

Preference
3-24-14

If cigarettes and coffee are not my heaven
I would like to know
Just what is according to that which is not seen
I see not but believe with a joy unspeakable
Keeping the oil in these lamps
To shine my light in darkness
Of which is my preference
Repenting towards where I come from
In remembrance to the word of God
And what he has done for me
To strengthen the things that remain
In rejoicing by the light of the sun
Where I have this reputation of being alive
While I am dead
According to the promise
That we will be resurrected someday...

Avidya
3-24-14

According to my object referral
I see myself in all that is taken up
I see the true me in another coffee cup
And when you know yourself
You access the happiness at its source
Yet to behold my red heifer and my pale horse
Riding upon her into battle
But taking not force
By this still small voice
That whispers, "resist nothing"
Falling into the void for the cause
Even of self referral
To identify with the true being
Instead by the obscene
Of true knowledge
And the presence of our wisdom
Of our daily bread...

Ode To The Heart Of Matters
3-24-14

Strengthen all that remains
That which is about to die
Being today the reaper of seeds and grains
Not one to ask of the why
But still I inquire of the higher purpose
In this writing to the heart of matters
Thinking of all that is right
Yeah, it's a sunshiny day
As seeds this poet scatters
Where we are to be that light
Just like Jesus
In that he says, "You'll be alright"
Needing to keep watch and stay engaged
As Christians dead to self
And alive to love
To value the life I have
In which, yeah
His life is in me
Within, beyond and above...

Sardis
3-24-14

Sardis was a city
Set on the top of a mountain
That could not be hidden
By reason of our longing for water
From our forever flowing fountain
By our sword, bow and belt
Our thirst doth yet but melt
As so comes forth a finger of a man's hand
Where my cogitations much trouble me
In words to come to understand
writing this message upon my own wall
Standing barefoot in the sand
Where high tides wash over my feet
But at least I'm standing on dry land
Where I have been crucified with Christ
And therefore not as one to live for myself
Hoping to be as one
To no longer live in fear or doubt...
