caress

Caress
5-1-15

Just be here now with the sunshine
Beating on my cat's fur
All that heaven will allow
My sentiments scheming
As if it still is and as it were
And now I will discover her lewdness
As she doth in contentment purr
In the sight of all of her lovers
Not pricked by thorn or spur
Should not have laid hands on substance
In the day of our calamity
If mercy's a business I wish it for you
Got back on the timeclock
And earn what is true
Nor should you have spoken proudly
In the day of distress
Just be now and here
By this caress....

Descendants
5-1-15

Descendants are as roots today
I need not put on my books for gentility and rage
And the producing of spiritual fruits
Love, peace and joy
All for the decoy
To build again that which he did destroy
It won't go away
Just let it take its course
It doesn't have to happen every day
In setting the cart before the horse
Descendants are as roots
I will sing my paean
If I can learn how to write it for you
I need a miracle every day
We cannot fight it
By double-dye
Appollos watered
And God gives the increase...

Inasmuch Revisited
5-1-15

Inasmuch
I begin again with my new title
Nothing new to God but quite vital
Make a change before it's too late
My bag is packed for Sunday
I'm travelling light
In no further due concern about the black and white
Votive with a desire to
Law uses motive
And all that God does allow
Redirected in fulfillment
All we have is right now
Given as a pledge
We stand at the edge
One I'm willing to today
To pull the plow for Appollo
The god of prophesy
But still putting the great I Am first
O, keep this desire
Yeah, keep your thirst
Inasmuch....

Votive
5-1-15

Votive for the motive
I tune out the conversation in the hallway
All things will pass
As soon again they cut the grass
Can you tell me what's ailing me
According to the crude and crass
Skies grow ominous again
In not need of why, where or when
It's the what and the who that counts
Where the rider again saddles and mounts
By my fervent expression of joy
My paean
If indeed I knew how to write it
A votive for a motive
Delegated in fulfillment
Good loving is our theme
If you can see it
While we are on the winning side
May a cloud upon it settle....

My Ox Treads
5-1-15

Bless the day I was born
May that day be light
As an ox treading out of the corn
To our hunger we have the right
As in the night of which it is said
A male child is conceived
We are all today of one bread
And no one needs be deceived
And as for the day
May light illuminate
I take a sad song and make it better
Bless, o bless the day I came out of the womb
We do not hear the voice of the oppressor
And therefore at peace with ourselves
There the prisoners will rest together
And just keep the conversation simple
We talk about the weather...

For Bildad
5-1-15

Of Bildad, the son of contention
We don't have to fight about it
It's not so bad
Yeah, this invention
Where we no longer need doubt it
Remember to enjoy what is set before you
In that the world today might abhor you
Playing loud music
drowning in ones laughter
Laughing at my cries
Concerning the hereafter
There we prisoners can rest together
Clouds wax dark
But today I fret not of the weather
Time to open up my windows
Given blessed assurance
That the Great I Am knows
For Bildad, the son of contention
We sit down for seven days to talk about it...
