Just Scratching The Surface
2-19-15

Most of us prefer to look back
As I take up today pens blue and black
I look forward to tomorrow
If the winds aren't too strong to go
We are as grasshoppers
They are too tall
So we make our lame excuses come nightfall
When we trade the mission for the method
We can make ourselves as the golden calf
Still in search for my better half
God already has it all lined up
And I must believe this...

Deep Freeze
2-14-15

Subzero temperatures overnight
This is only temporary
God is good and I am thankful here on earth
I have my cake and another snapshot
From the days when I was awake
Now there's no going back
God gives me as much as I can take
We will never figure the church out
We will always know a fraction of such a doubt
O, pray for D.R. and his grandchildren
Tomorrow is a go day
God and weather permitting
In a need for that windex once again....

I'm Not The Only One
2-14-15

I'm not the only one who didn't show up
So I set aside again my coffee cup
To maybe make some tea and wind down just a little
Because to choose this I am free
Choosing to play Warrant
For something nostalgic yet to see
Come ten in the morning
It's going to be another prolific one
By my goal to learn to breathe all over again
Without asphyxiation
My two last dollars into the offering plate
To learn how to love and forget how to hate
I'm not the only one...

I Can See Again
2-14-15

Haleluliah
I can see again
The windex did the trick
And I take up the pen smoking like the devil
Because I have them
Using sugar sparingly
Monday I get four more pounds
To fill up my canister
We are a living and breathing organism
To strain forward and to press on
Come the goal to take one verse and live it out
We need to learn by doing something and I do this
Ignorance is no longer an option
In that such can be as bliss
Using my sugar sparingly
I got my list made up already for Monday...

Odd Snowflake
2-14-15

They love me just the way I am
Even when I don't make the scene
I can hold off from potatoes and ham
Yet so heavenly minded
That there would be no one to understand me
Not a statement of conceit
But an utterance of feeling that I don't belong there
One more hour till I'm in the clear
In the need of the Holy Spirit to live it out
I am what I am
Like an odd snowflake that melts quickly
They were waiting for a storm
But it never came
I'm backing it up....

Pray Now
2-14-15

Pray on it on the way back home
Pray now to get started my new chapter
Given the know how
Where the poison is the remedy
By the blade of my plow
Turning the pulpit over to Dylan
Playing Blood on the Tracks just chilling
Bird on the horizon
Takes off in flight singing just for you
Sometime later on tonight
A soldier looks to his commander
Not to the world
And this truth is out of sight
Pray on it on the way back home
Pray now....
