Endeavor

Endeavor
2-26-14

Yet to design my brazen grate
To learn how to love and forget how to hate
By my request of God to meet my better half
Where my prayer is answered
In ways other than what is expected
Where no man will desire my land
Given freely from another diligent and open hand
Meeting my angel along the narrow way
To glory moreover I will endeavor
That you might see it too...

Preference For The Dark
2-26-14

Unto a light that shines in a dark place
I have a preference to this darkness
Because in such I cannot see all that is wrong
In my abode turning off all of the lights
To try to yet retire and get some rest
So that I might rise again and go west
And here I am back at the table
With my bible opened to second Peter
Where we bring much more than what is sufficient
For the service of this tabernacle
That will one day be as a mansion
According to my hope to yet see it
In that such is real
Where the day star will yet shine in our hearts....

On Second Peter 1:16 (look this one up)
2-26-14

No longer following cunningly devised fables
In the stories yet to be told
Taking my optimum seat to write my rhymes
While reticent yet bold
Confident in from the bitter cold
This will be as my ivory tower
Not fashioned by corruptible gold
Having a more true word of prophesy
In that it never gets old
Sheepish yet courageous
In all that I perceive today
In the word of which is real....

Taking My Pepsi Challenge
2-26-14

Prompted to turn the pages
Back to the book of Job
Guided by the Spirit
In that whatever I leave behind
Will be there for me when I return
Taking on the challenge of loss and gain
Of pleasure and of pain
In welcoming a late winter mixture of this sleet and rain
Where the Spirit will flow through my every vein
Prompted to take upon me this yoke of one whom is perfect and upright
Eschewing evil so that the poets in me can yet write
Prompted for my potsherd yet to scrape off this dross
In the purification withal....

Substance
2-26-14

O, doth Job fear God for naught
According to all that today the bible scholar is taught
Given substance in abundance
For which I had sought
Welcoming even our Sabeans
With whom we have fought
Falling into the void
Yet to discover myself today once again
O, doth Job fear God for nothing
So will be today the theme
For my diligent and valiant pen
As the fire of God is fallen from heaven
According to all that is real.....
