gorse

Gorse
10-5-15

Rudimentary leaves
Are yet to fall from a tree
Across a street with no name
Looking for the love at third sight
We also bring up our company bound for each other
Like the comets that miss the earth by an inch
You mother was a Hittite and your father an Ammorite
Put on your boots and follow me
Meet me for a cigarette
For the moment I call quite free
Set apart by the Spirit
On the first missionary journey
For a little touch of love for the church at Antioch
And Christian, the new name
Another day to play the game....

Making The Mountain A Plane
10-5-15

In keeping shoes off
I mean defiance against my hundred and fifty dollar habit
Who had been brought up me
My foster brother and the soul of a woman that so covers her man
For squads of four men each
Later on I reach for a peach hoping for such to ripen
Get back to the country in and out of consciousness
By the riches of his grace
Praise God I don't need to run that rat's race
Who art thou, O great mountain
Selling possessions to lay the money at their feet
And soon a brother to greet
Set apart by the Spirit....

Rich Man Begs
10-5-15

Till the cows come home
And till the chickens hatch their eggs around your head
You can roam here
Even a rich man begs
Because of her gladness she did not open the gate
Warning reads not to receive the grace of God in vain
Keep it up and humble yourself
Needing not physical strength to do spiritual work
They're only here to lend a hand
Where grace was the power to conquer the world
Ones flesh and the devil
As so today I can say this on a whole new level
If you get this grace do something with it
In our southern Pacific and silver rain through the moonlight....

All Aboard To Cyprus
10-5-15

All aboard
Get as much as you can afford
Laughing at the price tag
We've got so much to be happy about
As the Word of God grew and multiplied
Come another crazy map of Paul's first missionary journey
Across the sea into Cyprus
Where nothing is perfect in God's perfect plan
From Salamis to Paphos
I do the best I can
And the islands of the Aegean
West of the mainland
We've got so much to be happy about
As He whom God raised up saw no corruption
I hope I meet you there to say something....
