Take Refuge

One takes refuge and generates Bodhicitta
The heart of the enlightened mind
Can this mean anything to me
In a world of bias
Come the goal to benefit other beings
It is a hard act to follow
As I attempt another heavenly swallow
Taking refuge, the gateway to the dharma
Faith, a technique rather than the goal
May it be a practice for all is well with my soul
Take refuge out of compassion
Immediately there fell from his eyes, scales
As so still bleeds those hard driven nails....

Go, for he is a chosen vessel to yet reach
In order to learn so one might teach
Then Saul breathing threats
Cause the people to place their bets
Still too early to tell
The sun not quite up
I was amazed with one word
Where will people to go
Plenty to work with
Saul filled with the spring
Trying to block out the sirens
With some Neil Young and Crazy Horse
Cheer up man you made it home in one piece
Go near and overtake this chariot...
