Numbled
11-26-16
Numbled in tattered terraces
Back into the city of York
East side
No trouble
Not even to look for
For dulcimers and comfort in memories
Cheer up it's only Saturday
Back into my studio in no need for silence
Of which really does not exist
To he whom is gifted much is required
Handing the mic over to good old Neil
I'm a survivor but of What!
In the circle of ignorance
That is no longer an option
Feathers fly all around the room
I need a new down coat
God knows
Beaming....
Stomach
11-26-16
O, sign of distinction
Like wine in extinction
Baby tonight, the apples and plot lines shared
For the cause of self edification
A stomach for courage
And grit in ones craw
Meaning as well our appetite
For agony and mistrust
In that which returns to dust
Come Junior professed
Permission, all hail, sweet poet
Do you remember me
O, enkindle this spirit in remembering me
Is it possible or even probable
Make thine distinctions
Good to hear from you
As music fills the empty places
Warm, bard, warm in here
And cold out there....
Glass House (On A Hill)
11-26-16
Used to be's never count anymore
Neil Diamond said this and many before him
O, come let us adore him
Over a thanksgiving dinner
I leave my monastery for consolation
To end up in a rock and roll church
Behind the shopping mall on the hill
A glass house of praise and cheer
Sounding better than the last go around
Prepare the nectar soon to yield deeply
Obliged by kind solicitations
It's a gamble but it's what I do
O, tip the joy and for those that follow
A sermon hard to swallow....
