lipstick

Lipstick Tree
6-26-11

I find myself in haste
In an urgency to absorb it all
In the zeal of a thirsty sponge
Hungry for knowledge yet more and more
Before I come to know what it's all for
Clinging to the crag of the rock
To slow down the pace just a tad
To seek new truth
That is as dirty as it is pure
Where I am yet to consult the lipstick tree
To be glad that I'm entitled to this wisdom
That comes for free....

With Atrocious Chirography
6-26-11

With atrocious chirography
I write of truths
As a poet that loves to learn therein
Where love will cover a multitude of sin
As the moment I surrender I indeed win
As I kiss my own reflection
To look into my own bright eyes
And with my awful penmanship
I etch out words of what to me today is right
Where I don't know just how I feel tonight....
