Scenes (Of A Used Book)
4-24-17
In a series of loosely connected scenes
We find our way in the dark
Till we see daybreak in serious study
Trying not to think too hard about rocking on
Supplying its savory background
Come sonnets of silence
It's here, the conquering worm namely me
For incorruptible things
Today I can get what I need
Haunting lone regions
Appeasing all legions
Loving my Saint Veronica
As if she were my own
And no more of such heart of stone
With arms open wide....
Pallid And Wan
4-24-17
Come indention
Hope will ring that bell for Antonio
Our successor of Hadrian
Making sure in want of mold that this will not grow old
Nothing off limits
It's April but it still feels cold
Pallid and wan
But tall, dark and tan
For my openwork ornamental
And structural singing on a lower octave
Than the rest of his audience
I long to be there with my rapscallions
Bring thee to meet his shadow
In the greenest of valleys
On this sweet day
Where we change then into Cedars....
