QUOTA

Abide
6-9-12

Palisades and palinodes
Lead my feet to traverse other roads
Getting on with the sunshine
With intercession for all other abodes
Choosing not to run with the pack of wolves
In sheep's clothing
Abiding in the edifice
Of grace and its promise
Of a new day...

Genteel
6-9-12

Genteel and finesse
Is the time at hand
Personified by a beautiful muse
To think upon
In that I triturate and comminute
Looking not for minions to recruit
With a monolithic bundle of hope
That serves as an anchor for the soul today
As sunlight shines through my window
With my mission accomplished
In that my shirts are clean...

Twenty More Pens
6-9-12

I purchase twenty more soldiers for my army
Of munitions of ground to cover
Where today's artists
Write about what it could have been
If I have made another choice in the matter
If I would have turned left instead of right
And today I don't really need what they purpose on the line
And on the limb of deeper hues of green
Where I choose my confessions
In every waking hour...

Quota Already Made
6-9-12

In the nostalgic green glow
Of a housefly outside of such an abode
I have recollections of my childhood exploits
Of capturing all that I can
In a time I would rather put behind me
In that I've already met my quota
In clean shirts and socks
That I need not wear with sandals
On with the nostalgic blue as well
And a buzz on this deficiency
Serving its purpose
Just the way that things are....

Rivalry
6-9-12

Rivalries are set in motion
In that I choose not to involve myself
In the chasing of waterfalls
In my witness of repetition
Of melodies slightly distinct
Seeing the trigger as an opportunity for a challenge
To make me stronger
With all the tobacco that I desire
In rivalries of which I choose not to covet
But instead feel glad for them
Interceding so that they might prosper...

I Will Hunger Again
6-9-12

Collage advent garde restless consumers
Dream of having dinner with Barak
At a Chinese restaurant
Where one grows hungry again
Soon later on for bean soup
As these notebooks will serve as stones to lean upon
That serve as pseudonyms and various personas
In that I love the sound of my own voice
All the day long in that I stay cool
With consolation in all of this....

My Fruit And Meat
6-9-12

Breaking out today's provision
As if I were a raccoon looking for an open dumpster
To rain in my avarice that so genders peace of mind
Wondering just what the meaning is of hedges that are removed
Leaving only their stumps and needles
Strewn across the lawn
To serve as a part of the work to be done
By those whom volunteer
And as for these that have ears
May they hear....

On Matthew 11:11
6-9-12

He that is least in the kingdom of heaven
Is greater than he whom comes out into the wilderness
To see a cactus that thirsts for more water
Than she might require
Where Stipe covers a tune written by Fogerty
In its euphonious jingle
Where this is all I choose to do today
In that things are sunny and mild
He that is least will later be as the greatest...

More Viands
6-9-12

I salute a goddess for which I still have the hots
As I tear into my viands of almonds and apricots
Yet such I need distinguish
From the God that I worship
According to the wisdom I still seek
With my bible opened to the book of Hebrews
In that I seek not such a fame
That might be spread like tonight's news
Moving onto chapters ten and eleven
Seeking the manna of heaven
And finding leaven....

My Banana
6-9-12

I eat a banana I purchased at target
Chilled in the refrigerator
With a voice in my mind
Telling me that I am awesome
In what I do all day
On this day in recollections
Of a jesting about Afganastan
Being as such when my cat tries to get her teeth into the peel
And that which is of the imitation here still will be real....
