That
1-21-14
A word such as That
Today refers to what we have hope for
In what we cannot see
Which just as well is of This
In its own way
Where our king has not humbled his heart
Still lifted up in all bliss
Lifting himself up against the Lord of heaven
Purchasing another cup of coffee at seven-eleven
In the dreams and recollections of my dark and stony past
In that I am what I am today at last
In that it is God whom I choose to glorify
In This which is That...
This is what is now
That is what is yet to come
Dissociative
1-21-14
I know that perfect is not for real
Unless it is defined as being complete and finished
For this new beginning in no need to put shoes upon my feet
And soon breaking my fast in the surrender to something simple to yet eat
Observing all dissociatives
Without knowing exactly what they are
Up against This which is That
Being the things I hope for
In the company of my calico cat
Beautifully asymmetrical
Perfect in her own way
With candy bards in an old cowboy hat
I know perfect is not for real
In This of which is That...
This is what we can see
That is of things invisible
Journal Entry
1-21-14
Of six hundred thousand men on foot or more
We yet arrive upon such a beautiful shore
Yet we have not but apprehended
In that we have so much more to learn
Playing my nineteen seventy-four archive
Observing this reflection of snowfall
Out my east window
In my need to step outside my front door
Given meat to eat for a whole month
Or until it becomes as loathsome
To the palate of one whom is human after all...
Quail
1-21-14
We are all as human
And we will fail
Wherein loathsome will become one's manna and quail
Two cubits above the earth's surface
So that these pilgrims would not wane as skinny as a rail
Entering the most holy of places straight through the veil
Where an east wind so blows in
To make it possible for fishers yet to set sail
We are all as human
And we will fall short
So the poet will continue
To admonish and exhort
In That
Which is just as well as This...
That is what is outside
This is on the inside....
Tekel
1-21-14
The devil tries to tell me
That it's all a waste of time
But I proceed regardless
Here and now in verse and rhyme
Where it's not about what I can get out of it
So I'll just do it for what it is
And be therewith content with eyes to see
All available beauty and splendor that it brings
Where the soul is never satisfied with material things
So I take on what is called as That
Referring to what we yet hope for
As thou art weighed in the balances
To be found wanting
And the kingdom is divided...
Chintz
1-21-14
By draperies of glazed and cotton chintz
We are provided with eminent clues of helpful hints
Embroidered with chains of pearls and gold
Regarding the many ways
That such a story can be told
Using different words to express the selfsame truth
Printed in bright patterns
That doth clothe the youth
Yet gaudy, miserly and cheap
As by faith we take our quantum leap
By draperies of fifty
That all have the same breadth and length
To be this embroidery
To be as our great strength....
That Part II
1-21-14
Back to my roots
Of the basics of my sweeter reality
I receive my second wind
Seeing it as an escape from all fatality
Staggering back to my love seat to write some more
Seeking to be perfect, complete, finished and mature
Where one's ego will be as such insecure
Conserving the silence of the moment in time
Like it were my electricity
Doing here my thing in this neuroplasticity
Back to my roots I hope to grow deep
So that I might scale my mountain no matter how steep
Smoking like the devil today
By which my nicotine doth creep
Back to my roots
In this which is that....
Prodigy
1-21-14
Monstrous and prodigious
Are those that claim to be religious
Arousing all admiration extraordinary in extent
Where it soon will be time to once more pay my rent
Given this talent and ability
For a purpose in that I pray
That back west tomorrow I'll be sent
By princes one hundred and twenty
And where that came from there is yet plenty
In this which is that
Yeah, just that....
On Daniel 6:2
1-21-14
Three presidents are set over the entire realm
So that there would be no damage
Of which our Daniel was made the first
Knowing my well inexhaustible
So that I might never thirst
Seeing to be as blessed
Even when it seems one is cursed
In my study of political science of such a trade
Praying for a brother in his classes
To receive a good grade
Being one to acknowledge such
According to what God hath made
Rocking on to this book
Regarding our major prophet
Even if this is all I do
In this of which is as that....
Dance
1-21-14
English coreographers still do their stuff
In a place that abounds with drinking water
Extracted from the rock that is enough
Where I am played like a banjo and the cello
Taking another deep drag to get mellow
Of all American pianists and composers
That still write and will not retire
Dying in their music with sins washed away
According to position
As so completed today is another mission
In lucid dreams
Putting these words into practice
In this of which is that...
