absurd

O, How Absurd
6-2-14

We have diminished just who he is
But we didn't mean to
According to his feet of burnished brass
And a staff and stave to but lean
To yet accept my Christ as my savior
In case I didn't see it the first time around
O, hey it couldn't hurt to try
I was hanging onto someone else's words
Dying to believe in what I heard
In trying to discern the meaning
Out my east window
Of another singing bird
O, we have turned him into something else
Into a beggar saying
"O please accept me"
O, how absurd
O, how absurd....

"... Get Out Of The Way..."
6-2-14

Propitiation is translated from the Greek
O, so you say that this is meaningless
But the scholar still must seek
I play my worst archive
And soon take another dump and leak
O, why do I write of such
While humble and meek
As propitiation is translated
In that I know not how to explain it to you
But to say that I was there
And that I am here...

....Because Their Shade Is Good.....
6-2-14

Burning incense under terebinths
Poplars and oaks
Breaking out cups of coffee
And lighting up another pack of smokes
O, what then shall we say
Of what Abraham hath found
According to their bad jokes
It is said that only the poor can be saved
But God wants us to prosper
Even in one's unequal yokes
And all that I request right now is peace
He will perform it
If this is what you believe and not cease
Burning incense under terebinths
O, now I call myself as the sun
That doth but nourish
The grass and trees.....

O, Let Me Know Your Victory
6-3-14

O Lord, let me know today your victory
Breaking out the sandals
Trying to steer clear of the scandals
God doth bless the carpenters
As well as the vandals
Breaking out my new bible
That is free from slander and libel
O, let me know your victory
O, can it be that you do not know
That the Law is master
Over a man as long as he lives
Yeah, Law with a capital letter
As a sinner penitent forgets and forgives...

I Died
6-3-14

Trusting the mail deliverers
I drop my bill in the mailbox
On the corner of Market and Queen
O, make yourself comfortable
And see just what this can mean
But if her husband dies
She is freed from the law
But Jesus will never die like such
Even in the flaw in the slaw
As so we are the bride
Not as the adulteress
And the river is vast and wide
A free gift according to this grace
And not by our boasting of such pride
With my hands tied
I won't cry
As one to take a stand
And choose a side
I want the sun to shine on me
For lo, I live
In that I died
Yeah, I died....

Heist
6-3-14

So that we might bear fruit
To God we behold again another almond budded rod
Take your time today
According to huts thatched
With bricks of sod
Take another trip around the sun
And find the lean not odd
And so today I will be the star
Whom steps into his brand new car
God already has won the battle
And he knows I have come thus far
Planning out my next four archives
O, he will come to us like the rain
In perfect composure
Even when it seems insane
As dead to the Law
And alive unto Christ
Yeah, spelled with a capital letter
To justify such an heist....

Report
6-3-14

Reading today the bible
I was yesterday given a free gift
From the Jehovah's witnesses
O, God bless them
O, what shall we say
O, is this Law sin
O, God forbid
Yet to go to the feast while yet bid
Working out in me covetousness of every sort
Here to intercede, admonish and exhort
Getting back into my easy chair
As one to regroup and hold down the fort
This will be as my coping mechanism
Today playing in the outfield
And covering my man out in the court
The New World Translation is not so different
As to my next class soon I report...

On Romans 7:9
6-3-14

I work on book twelve
Doce in the Spanish language
As she makes her way back into the real world
And I wish her well
And pray that her paths will be made straight
Where Jezebel calls herself a prophet of our Baal
And as we speak my bills are sent out in the mail
O, do I trust it, yeah
I suppose I must
When all that we accomplish here
Will fade out back to dust
Living with a tenacious commitment
As so the flesh doth yearn and lust
I work on book number twelve
Doce in the Spanish
As so when the commandment hath arrived
I died to yet live....

Sweet Licks
6-3-14

O, brother don't blow it
O, neighbor I suppose that you know it
To live it, walk it
Practice it and show it
My hands are rough from working on a dream
Today I quote my heroes
Including Apostle Paul
And I believe it
By the commandment that killed me
I am yet to grasp and receive it
O, hold onto what you already have
Where Satan has no secrets nor new tricks
As I sit back and bask in the riffs and sweet licks...

I Will Win
6-3-14

Finding the opportunity
Afforded by the commandment
That work in us covetousness of every sort
Don't look for paradise in the home across the road
Today is my lucky day
To obtain provisions
O, if the Lord is willing
With desperate decisions
As I receive the fragrance
Of my new bible
The New World translation
Is not so different
Let me show you what love can do
According to the man I am within
Seeing in my body another law
That warerth in my members
Today is my lucky day
And I will yet win....

Fresh Meat
6-3-14

I can lie about it
And say that this pen is blue
I can go on in this denial
In my reaching out to you
I can pretend that nothing is wrong with such
And to myself be true
God hath already won the battle
As so it is not your fight
As I yet regard sheep, goats and cattle
And the fresh meat by which today I write
O, such is the wonderful word
As so I plow my way straight through into night
Where summer solstice is soon upon us
In my hopes for the shortening and concision of daylight
Yeah, you will rule with an iron scepter
And this truth will be your delight....

Fragrance
6-3-14

Sometimes I wish that there was no money
Like my wish that there was no black or white
Yet to enter my land of milk and honey
And to walk by faith and not sight
This here will serve as my passion
And this will be my rite
The new bible is in finer print
And I will love him today with all of my might
Sandals and bare feet are in season
As such will be the fragrance
Even of the light....
