Getting On With It
6-29-14
Getting on with it
Glad to be back from a successful lunch with Mother
On my way out back
Where I meet up with a distant brother
As strangers scattered through Pontus and Galatia
We learn to love one another
By our friends dispersed through Asia and Capadocia
The coffee is regal by a flame we need not quell nor smother
O, who can stand in the way
I play my worst archive first
Looking into the clearest blue
With the know how and the wherewithal
To reach out to you
Getting on with it
Elect according to the foreknowledge
To be true.....
"What Are You On?"
6-29-14
Through sanctification of the Spirit of obedience
I wonder will I miss my beard
Now that it's all gone
Grace to you and peace be multiplied
As so tomorrow I hope to rise before the dawn
With a new look
As neighbors ask
What am I on
As my cat gets used to her new shit box
To an inheritance incorruptible
That fadeth not away
I must say that I'm having a good day
By the trial of my faith
More precious than gold that perishes
Playing my seven archives
To fill in the rest of today....
On Luke 1:46-48
6-29-14
My soul so magnifies thee
Like roots reaching deep
From my sycamore tree
Trusting that things will work out in me
I do it to myself
To play that song again
But it is good fodder and sustenance
For a black and humble pen
The empire rings
The emperor is in joy
I play the worst archive first
My spirit hast rejoiced in thee
He hath regarded the lowly
Blessed be the God of Israel
I do here what I know to perform
O, behold and henceforth
All of the generation
Will say that I am blessed....
On Luke 1:52
6-29-14
He hath put down the mighty from their thrones
And has exalted the lowly
You ask why I quote these passages
And I must say that it's a part of me
That keeps growing
Not like the beard I just got shaved off today
But such am arm in which strength is shown
From generation to generation
I do not stand alone
It took courage to get where I am today
I said yes to change
To think outside the box of come what may
Change brings me to such a place
I would refuse to go before
He hath put down the mighty and exalted
And the lowly
As I decide to walk right through the door......
Shave
6-29-14
It was another forty dollar investment
In seafood and a shave
I must say I was bold to act this out
And quite brave
By the servant's satisfaction
I salute my passed on Uncle Dave
Though it be tried by fire
Found unto praise and honor and glory
At his appearance
Grace to you and peace be multiplied
In overstock and clearance
Perhaps to one day return to retail work
Of which I dream with confidence....
Skein
6-29-14
By yarn, by reel, by skein
By pleasure in satisfaction
By pain
Wound up tight to but resemble
The coil in my jugular vein
By excess, by luxury, by vile
I am willing tonight to pay the price
Having a good one so I can remember it
In such a way of favor
As it is thankworthy
For a man with a conscience
To endure grief and suffer wrongfully
For the good he hath done
By yarn, by skein, by reel
The truth is seen in what we feel....
My Part
6-29-14
Today I did my part
Tonight I declare O, thou art
Tomorrow I get another good start
Trying to make the twilight last
Hoping to leave behind me the past
Nor using liberty for a cloak of maliciousness
But as servants we make it right
As the line we yet cast
As servants are to be subject to masters
To fly our flags half mast
For the crisis of what we are in God
Not only to the good and gentle
But to as well the froward
O, you know my heart Lord
Today I do my part...
Skein (Part 2)
6-29-14
Of skein, of school, of flock and herd
We take into our hearts the engrafted word
In that it needs no longer to us sound absurd
Praying for a neighbor I needed to face up to
Do well and suffer for it
And great is your reward
By the vein, by the hook, by the anchor, by the cord
Christ also suffers for us
Leaving us an example
And all is well in the Lord
O, when reviled, revile not again
According to my black and humble inexpensive pen
Taking it patiently that it is acceptable
Of school, of herd, of flock and of skein
In a special place
Where the sun meets the rain.....
Provider
6-29-14
Knowing that God will in time provide my smoke
Knowing that all will be provided
As another personal record is broke
A sufficient error in grammar for the sake of rhyme
We're going to give it back by another deep toke
Racing in regattas
According to the current yet to revoke
Given my new feel of my stubble
Welcoming with acceptance my trouble
O, may adorning be inward
To burst one's bubble
Let it be the hidden man of the heart
Some things are meant to be just as they are
As I come out of tribulation a cinder and a star...
On First Peter 3:3-7
6-29-14
According to the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit
I want this time to drag on
As if tonight will be my last time writing about it
With no set agenda and no need to doubt it
Dwelling with each other according to knowledge
In our deeper understanding
Giving honor to those stronger vessels
According to the angel with which the poet wrestles
With my eyes set on tomorrow
And right now according to the ornament
Of the spirit quiet and meek
I will press on
And continue to yet seek.....
Toastmaster
6-29-14
Among the captives in the thirteenth year
According to faith and no more of such fear
By the river Chebar
In the west I can see his star
As the heavens are opened
Where I saw my visions crystal clear
And all I know to say
Is that I want to be right here
Presiding at the supper of another gathering
Introducing those whom step up to the podium
I write this song for those whom have been there
Being as one not afraid to breathe in the air
Being as he that will choose to care...
On Ezekiel 1:3
6-29-14
As the whirlwind cometh out of the north
We are as they whom come forth
Coming out to say it
And get right to the truth
No longer one to hide or delay it
Happy to wait for admission at the ticket booth
Patient in all endeavors
Pondering over forevers
By its brightness and color of amber
Out of the midst of the flames
The children still call me names
Like a fire meant to enfold itself
I like to play why games
As our work cometh unto Ezekiel
And so the lion the maker yet tames
This song is for those whom are different
And as well as those of the sames.....
