Canny
7-5-12
Canny, frugal and shrewd
Will be again my liberal and generous mood
Being as the enabler
In my offering up of provisions
Of puffing in the smoke
That calms the blood with neurotransmitters
Where astute, careful and skilled
Is he whom drinks of milk to be spilled
So that we can take it all in
Before the expiration date
And take up our love to relinquish hate
Letting resentment flow down the river
When we stand still by its brink...
God Restores
7-5-12
At the end of ones tether
Yet by the beginning
Of a restoration of strength
Given new hope in the faith
To be applied in a dark place
Where it's hard to see the light
Accessible to all
Whom walk by the banks of the river
Fertile and abundant
With driftwood as the offering
Of pedestrians whom gather
As they scatter seeds of love
To reverence their God above....
Lariat
7-5-12
Hang yourself not with the lariat
Put to use to capture the horses
You learn how to hold
Don't give up the fight
That is good for your refinement
When all you really have is now and today
And your dusted shelf of books
You own just to look upon it
Possessing the view of all that you are given to see
In our sense of our need
Of the God that pulls us through
So that we won't give in...
Boreal Breezes
7-5-12
Boreal breezes
Are sweet in the faces
Of they whom know the blessings
And continually give thanks all through the day
That is hot on the next calendar event
Of this scorching July
Counting my blessings to be in where it's cool
With air through my east wall
To comfort my feline companion
Reclining right next to me
As I watch on my telly the swimming events
To see whom will make their way to London...
Siphon
7-5-12
Conduits and siphons
Pass the fluids of our faith
Upon dry ground to fertilize the soil
Of gardens in front of the grogshops
Where ale prices are raised
And by the strength of inebriety
Here my God was praised
Using what was toxic to me as a remedy
For the static on my screen
That today I wipe clean
In reverence for such siphons
To let it all out...
Restored Again
7-5-12
Exhausted and effete
By my lack of what to eat
On an Independence Day firework display
I view through closed eyes
Just by listening in on what was going on outside
With no need to be there to know
Restored to full vitality
In that I went there today...
