Knick
10-6-12
Practicing the art of thankfulness for God's grace
In looking upon things seen
Regarding a brother I keep in heart and mind
Learning how to rejoice as if I were at the foot of the Messiah
Cutting myself with a clean shave for Bono himself
Knowing that the whole law hangs on love
By which we know pride
Practicing the art of acceptance for time gone by
In holding a gauss to my chin
Catching drops of blood on a Jewish Sabbath
Of the opposite day on the calendar of such illusion
Of our October fest without the flask....
Realist
10-7-12
Jesus was said to be a realist
Saying that we cannot undo the past
Where immodesty is not just for the youth
In that we want to make our integrity and fidelity last
And before you do wrong you'll think amiss
When fear ought not be the motivator of doing what is right
This is what I get out of the sermon
In that Jesus was the realist....
Twenty More
10-7-12
Twenty more soldiers for my poetic army
Firing their ammunition
Of black and blue ink
Knowing newfound success
In the filth made clean in my kitchen sink
Knowing not what to do for my contingencies in money spent
Yet I count my blessings that paid in full is my rent
Knowing not what to say
In this literary deficiency as the undertaking
To be carried out by these twenty soldiers
Added to my poetic army...
Sermon Of Hello
10-8-12
In saying hello with a smile
Is preaching a sermon
To lift up a stranger passing by
As to say that it's a beautiful day would not be telling a lie
Testing out a new pen glad in that it does not smear
Saying here what needs to be laid out on the table
In my contribution of testimony
As I say hello with a smile
To preach a sermon of the hospitality at hand.....
Planting Grass
10-8-12
Being one to rather plant grass than to pull weeds
Wanting to practice my love in any way I see fit
Wanting to serve in any way I am able
Even when all I have today is my cigarettes and my cable
Being one to rather turn on a light than to curse the dark
Being one to be the miracle
In reaching out to new faces
With initiation on my part
Even when it is all I know to say...
