solidify

Solidify
1-7-12

Yet to solidify and grow
To put into action
The things we come to know
In a loving grasp of ones left fist
Where of this new truth we get our gist
Yet to be molded into a new shape
Yet to glean another fallen grape
For fruit is left for the poor
Free to be claimed by those who seem to be without
Yet to solidify as love does dissolve our fears and doubt...

Good Sound
1-7-12

Thankfulness is not obvious in ones countenance
As a subtle quality of the heart of he whom wants to shine
Where such is our true wealth exceeding all gold, livestock and wine
And soon I will be there in a lofty place of reverence of the beauty that lingers
Where I turn off my lights in the presence of a good sound
Of the music that goes on and on
Like ripples we can see when we come to believe....

My Academic Visions
1-7-12

We no longer need to carry the anvil of iniquity
Through the hallways of a school of learning
I dream about every night
Where I sometimes struggle
In the gathering of all my books into my arms
As I step off the bus at my usual stop
Where it all went down back in '86
Where I tasted of a cursed thing
That I suppose was in God's plan
To bring me to this....

On Psalms 103:5
1-7-12

He satisfies my mouth with better things
So that my youth is renewed
Like the eagle in flight
Where I am glad now that I see new light take form
In the milder winter night
Where I claim a wild card from the top of the stack
In a game where I play and pray
As if there is no going back
This is my ministry
And it is time to shine...
