Peace Offering Revisited
2-28-18
Ears go tin and eyes aluminum
Intending to share it with them
Over the border of Austria into Hungary
Dreaming of coming to America someday
As I visit the here and now
And remember to just enjoy it
By the peace offering of oxen
And seventy elders laying down their lives
For the host by the altar on its twelve pillars
Under God's feet paved wit the work of sapphire stone
Swept away and stunned by powerful words in the book of Mormon
Is this what God wants?
For us to listen to then holler along with Nadab and Abihu
It is you!
Half blood into basins
And the other half upon the altar
It is me!
"Folly!"
2-28-18
This is my folly
These here words of rhythm broken and rhyme cheated
Giving me back my voice
In a place where God says it's our choice
On the island of Doctor Moreau
Learning to stand for that which seems fitting
Never quitting
This is my folly for selvage and coupling
To drink up the lake at the edge of woven fabric
By leather and lace all manners of concupiscence
Furnished as to prevent raveling being ready to go
And today is going to be another good one
Now that we can face the music again
For fifty loops of each curtain
Surefooted and indeed certain
This is my folly far from melancholy....

Of tribute and of testament
God protect this city today
And be with those that don't have a place
As past will be as future
By grace mysterious and powerful God's word
As to disentangle and extricate
And get another fix on milady Belladonna
Loving a bachelor's cat maybe for the last time
We're with you heart and soul
For curtains of goat's hair on ones tachometer
She says I need to learn to wait for olive oil to burn always
Constructing altars of acacia
And horns on four corners
Ready to receive atonement
By rings and staves of brass
I'm ready to go there soon
On our onyx stones
The names of our children
Of tribute and of testimony.....
