marvel

Marvel
10-15-13

By my medium
Of all tedium
I take it one verse at a time
So that I might write another rhyme
Taking a look out my east window upon sunshine
Upon the roof of the Presbyterian church
Of which I wonder and marvel
Trying to read the book of Deuteronomy
And all of its laws
We hope were done away with
When the veil is rent in the midst
Given our new covenant
Of this love and grace....

Mince
10-15-13

Going home to mince my eggplant
Not to become as one who is scant
Liberally giving to those in need
That yet pine and pant
Glad that I went out shopping last night
Resting upon yesterday's laurels
In loving my God with all my strength and might
Where he doth enclose our ways with hewn stone
Making my paths straight
Revising the word
No matter how absurd
Going home to mince my turnip
To be the best song I have ever heard...

Kenspecle
10-15-13

Of that which is conspicuous and kenspecle
We hand out our gerah and our brazen shekel
Where all is obvious and manifest
Glad to have gone again to my west
Told in my mind that indeed I have passed the test
Of that which is crystal clear and easy to see
In that which is made real
According to the real me
Touching up on my Scottish and Greek
To know that I will always be one to yet seek
Prodded on by the verse that reads
Blessed are the meek...

Arsenal
10-15-13

Of agrarian animosity
In ones agricultural arsenal
Of root vegetables minced
To be sautéed in canola oil
Once again pertaining to the culinary of promotion
Of flavor we often take for granted
As if it will always be
Pouring myself onto the page
For hours at a time
Of agrarian avenues to walk along
In search for the knowledge at hand and foot....

Breastplate
10-15-13

Obedience is the breastplate of righteousness
If and when we can get it straight
Where the word of God is the sword to take up
In that it is never too late
Walking today by my faith and not by sight
Where we are not to swear at all
On that we can't make one hair black or white
Obedience is the breastplate of righteousness
Where my eyes are yet to aspire to
The impending dark of night...

Outcome
10-15-13

The end of the commandment is charity
And the top of the law is love
Where we can come to know truth in its verity
To seek what lies within and above
In a place quite blessed
Where the crow can abide with the dove
By the protection of ones fingers
In putting on a gardening glove
By our inventory and analysis
To go to the show that we'd need not miss...
