extol

Extol
2-23-14

Corrupt kings praise and extol the King of heaven
In that I return again
To that which I tried to forget for a little while
Knowing good success in no need to stop at seven eleven
Where all of his works are of truth
Backing up today what serves as my style
Quite a style of writing of my free verse
Counting all of my blessings
Even if it might seem as the curse
As they that walk in pride
He is able to abase
So I humble myself today
To be as one whom hath returned
To love and grace....

Christening
2-23-14

Christening my fresh tablet
Entitled Real
Like a baptism of free verse
Transcending all that I might feel
For I was given time to but rest and heal
According to all Jacinth, zircon and hyacinth
Included in the hues one with closed eyes can yet see
Given three months till I turn forty-one
Christening such a new tablet
Entitled Real
And not just for fun
Glad to be back to all of this
Under azure skies by the light of our sun
Knowing that spring is coming soon
And such is quite real....

On Daniel 4:36
2-23-14

As my reason returns unto me
I'm back where I belong
In the writing of a new song
Yeah, I made it back here going strong
Mission accomplished, halleluliah
Hosanna, looking upon what right
Rather than what seems wrong
My reason returns unto me
Along with all brightness and honor
For the glory of the kingdom
By which excellent majesty so is added to me
As God hast sustained my reigns
In the face of what is real...

On Hebrews 10:1
2-23-14

For the law having a shadow of good things to come
By the flaw in the slaw
And the beating of ones own drum
Eating my steak raw
Glad to have feeling in my extremities
And no longer as numb
For not the very image of things offered
That can make those whom approach
Perfect only by way of conscience
That can sometimes be a pest
As so I am ready to go back again to my west
As sacrifice and offering thou did not desire....

Deposed
2-23-14

With heart lifted up
And mind hardened in pride
I was a deity in my own eyes
Just going along for the ride
Yeah, they loved me when I was there
In a place where time and space did collide
Deposed from my throne
On the day of my graduation
Yeah, they loved me
And I keep such in mind
With a heart lifted up
By the peeling of my avocado rind
Laying down my glory
At the welcome mat of my own abode
With heart lifted up
In time my pride doth wash away and erode...
