Reasoning With Reasons
4-17-05

And I am yet to go out on a fishing trip
For crustaceans and mollusks and anthropods
As unto what is just and true I get a tighter grip
While steering clear of phony philosophy and false gods
And wine can represent God's wrath
Or it could connote the joy of the redeemed
As idolatry can take the form of enthusiasm
Of learning science and math
And still I seek knowledge
And of school last night I dreamed
And it is these little things in life
That keep me going back
As such things labeled as worldly and secular
So are part of God's big plan
And this is bigger than it looks
As the absence of light seems to be as black
And the fleshly nature lives on
And for this there is a reason
For God has created woman and man.....

The Truth About The Metal
4-17-05

And sometimes in order to get to the good stuff
One must first taste what is ugly and endure the bad
And so we keep in mind to seek first the kingdom
And know that Jesus is enough
As the foundation is already laid
And no man can disannul nor add
In our trials so we are refined
In the fervent heat of the brazen grate
And all along our way
So cumbersome obstacles are aligned
As we are melted down through our love and hate
And even if I've gotten away from that metal shop class
Still such crazy dreams remain a part of my inner being
And still I have a desire to go back to work with that steel and brass
And create something from the fruit of the trial
Knowing that hurting is another part of seeing...
