Make Room
9-28-14
Our first law states that we are all as one
And the second namely of such survival
Come the service of the sons of Kohath
And such stirring up of revival
I turn on my air conditioner
For the last time come Indian Summer
And autumn its rival
Come the drastic change
Of the lighting in this room
So all that open the matrix
And to all yet in the womb
I am glad that I had scattered seeds today
And I will take it with me the tomb
O, seek out your Joseph Campbell
And in thine hearts make room....
Snapshot
9-28-14
The fat cats took it literally
Ignorant of the illustration at hand
As we inherit peace
That transcends all that we can understand
As cool air comes through my east wall
With blessings as numerous as the grains of sand
By the shore of shifting tides
Come the snapshot in the family album
Abundance is in today my left hand
To boldly impose this type
My fruit again is ripe
And my tunafish is canned
According to what my God hath planned
As the fat cats still take it literally.....
Breaking My Fast On Whole Wheat
9-28-14
Breaking my fast today on whole wheat
So I can make today the Lord's day last
And kick my Sunday shoes off my feet
So I can leave behind the day
The Indian summer's final wave of heat
I put into practice a moment of silence
To renounce all of such hate and its violence
Breaking my fast later on my barbeque chicken wings
To take away the ashes from the altar
Where the Herald Angel sings
To spread a purple cloth over my table
To which provisions a poor man yet brings....
