Commended
11-9-12
With my own personal Robertson and Spurgeon
I will be as the poet laureate of the state of Pennsylvania
As a prophet like the surgeon
Dissecting these verses as if it were a flower
Of which I divide stamens and pistils
From the petals soon to fade
To be dispersed in fields of this theology
Commended for the things I said
When I was there in flesh...
Another Anchor
11-9-12
The Scripture keeps me down upon it
Like an anchor of a deep sea fishing vessel of free trade
In that nothing comes without its price
Of the face value of a golden coin
Of which I dream of
Never really seeing with the eyes of one whom is awake and alive
Given another mouthful of sustenance
In the form of fertile words of this wisdom
That I thank my God for
Where it keeps me down on it....
Precocious
11-9-12
Thinking to be today precocious
Yet not lifted up in the pride
That at times I choose to build my house upon a rock
With a foundation of the hard pillars
That support the museums of my dreams of childhood
With obsessions for insects and stones and all of their names
I'd be eager to learn about learning to live with two back broken teeth
Claiming to be today precocious
To pay myself a compliment
According to what God hath made me well...
Taking After My Moses
11-9-12
Many of our heroes would suffer from doing the right thing
Written down in the first five books of the truth
That cuts both ways today
Where I change my spectacles
To see a new light bent by the lenses
Of windows that show one the heavens
Whom they choose to look up into the blue sky once again
With a prayer for all of those whom are on their way.....
Reservoir
11-9-12
I am not to be a reservoir but a conduit
In giving it away with tablet and pen
In my contribution of eggs from the product of the diligent hen
To yet know the where and why
To go with my what and when
Enjoying my Christmas tree set up early in the season
In wondering if I'm the only one in all of this
To be a reservoir and not a conduit...
My Shiphrah
11-9-12
My Shiphrah assists in the childbirth
Of many poems that today I write
To be as the product of the purity and perfection
Of my pipe smoked for the nicotine to hold me over
In a deep inhalation for its comfort
Given today the gift of my color and my light
In that I offer up my prayers for those that pass by
In my hallway upon which today's sunshine radiates....
