stupefied

Stupefied
7-3-15

And with him is abundant redemption
You're on your own till the new beginning
Of all that is yet to be
As I command you to the Word of His grace
To thank him in that we are winning
Four grand in my bank
I didn't want to tell a soul
More than just Lady Luck to thank
such grace so able to build you up and edify
To give us the inheritance amongst all of them that are sanctified
Requesting stupefying
So I can sleep for an hour or two
Astonishing and amazing
Amongst the cattle grazing....

On Acts 20:34, 35check this out)
7-3-15

There is a meaning in your mind
There is a gleaning in the peeling of the rind
There is a fiending of a higher kind
To astonish and amaze
To dull ones senses and faculties ablaze
Yeah, ye yourselves known that these hands have ministered
Unto my necessities and to them that are with me skill
God shewed you all things
Seconds out
Out on the street
That go laboring
You ought to support the weak
And remember the words of Jesus written in red ink
To really make one think....

Horattian Ode
7-3-15

Lord my heart is not haughty
Nor my eyes lofty
O, how could David say this of himself
Neither do I concern myself with great matters
I dreamed that I had this feeling
Eight hours of this and I will be well in gear
To minister unto my necessities
When he has thus spoken of yet another true token
He kneels down to pray
As the Spirit doth show him the Way
No cloud in a sleepy calm
I write my Horatian ode with its fixed stanzatic pattern
Not proud but yet distinguished
Where they all wept sore and wanted more....

Supererogate
7-2-15

So far its been a mild summer
No triple digits
Quite yet still addicted to her perfume poison
Yet to supererogate in rhyme
Sorrowing once and for all for the words that follow
By another beautiful swallow
As we will yet see his face
As they accompanied them  into the ship
Yet to walk on water and not sink or slip
Horray, stepping out to meet my brothers
And to hand out my cards for bathos and its jaboticaba
Following unto Rhodes then unto Patara
With many other substances bathetic and sentimental....

Jaboticaba
7-3-15

Sorrowing most of all
For the words which he spake
Up at quarter till five after we were begotten from them
I'm glad to be alive yet launched and coming with a straight course
Unto Coos as far as purblind eyes can see
Sailing over to Phonecia
We step aboard and we praise the Lord
To set forth to sail
To travel north and not fail
To discover newfangled Brazilian shrubs
Cultivated for its purplish black fruits
Bourne directly on the trunk our jaboticaba...
