Curacy
8-7-15
Knowing this that our old man is crucified with him
That the body of sin might be destroyed
I'm praying for a miracle concerning my vice
As new pens like soldiers are deployed
As the spirits are high
Henceforth sin we should not serve
Getting much more than what I deserve
For this captaincy
The dentist hits a sensitive nerve
Given good novicaine in due season
Jesus is for my longsuffering
The main reason in all curacy
Our cleric, one who has charge of the parish
A brother still echoes in my mind
What is it that you cherish
I wish him well
Just the same glad to have met them
In the Word and name
Yet to organize and oversee....
Euclidean Principles
8-7-15
These days you pay for everything
Springsteen said this
And these days I refrain to shout out and sing
Seeking my Euclid
Applying the deductive principles of the logic
And I do it all again tomorrow
This is the time I will live for
In all joy and sorrow
Where they meet there is love
To search within, beyond and above
For Euclidean pursuits and ripening fruits
And a messy refrigerator
Stumbling upon another easy task but not falling
Come the destroyed scroll replaced
Nature again is calling
And I head on back down to the bench
To meet someone there
Let not sin reign in your mortal body
Easy to say and so hard to but perform....
One For Coniah
8-7-15
Fleeing back up the mountainside
It is the challenge of the artist to restrain ones pride
At quarter after three I catch my ride
O, so fortunate to have this awesome support system
And to but abide
What then, shall we sin
Because we are no longer under the law
But under grace, certainly not
For sin should have no more dominion
Such is how it ought to be
Even when often it is not this way
We'll see our shadow high in the sky
Given so much more to say
Come Jeremiah's interview with Zedekiah
According to the text so it is
For foam, for froth and for fizz
Don't ever let go...
Prebend
8-7-15
Commanded to come back to this here page
It's been a prolific and productive day
In my writers' rage
If I can't work up to you
Then you'd need to work down to me
And free all sparrows from their cage
For stipend and prebend
Drawn from the endowment and no need to pretend
It's a long and narrow Way
For revenues of our Anglican cathedrals
Our property and tithe
Providing all that is needed
And statutes to be observed, kept and heeded
Being made free from sin
Becoming servants of what is right
I plow on through straight into another quiet and cool night
And do it all again tomorrow
Commanded to step out again
And come back in to write a few more
Crowning my soul with grace
It's a long and narrow way...
