dank

Dank
7-2-15

Today I'm sucking it up
Seems the more you make
Equals to the loneliness you get in no such regret
Spending Benjamins on vice alone
Biding Franklins in dreams of returning to the hard stuff
For the doer that never cease out of the land
Therefore we are commanded to open our hand wide
All for Jesus and not for pride of Zebulun
Such as went forth to battle
Standing like a statue in spite of herds of cattle
With all instruments of war
It's the prudent against your whore
Fifty thousand which could keep rank
And a great God in heaven whom to thank
Just drifting away on a day dark and dank....

Bohemian
7-2-15

Today all over the stage
I lost sight of acting out my inner sage
And we have our imaginings
And I remember you yet bohemian
Of artistic and literary interests
Disregarding the conventional
Ask and you will receive
A peach for my prig
Demonstrating an exaggerated conformity
In a smug matter
I contribute for a platter
Looking for happy and for the flamboyant
Love will take you by the hand
And drop you where you stand
David goes out to meet them
And to share his new song
If ye come peaceably unto me to help me
Then by all means just do
Because I still love you...

Peach For The Prig
7-2-15

A peach for my prig
It's nothing new, it's nothing big
Her juice is dripping all over my floor
Beating swords into pruninghooks
To learn war no more
Yet to seek out Middlemarch and Romela
As a dandy and a fop but not conceited
Nothing wrong with loving what God had made you
Just living to die to sit at home and wait for the milk to come soon
Again to go out and roam where the difference is greater than the sum
As scenes from clerical life with Adam Bede
As one to take the lead and see to the need
O, open wide your hand
And I will have mercy
When you seek to understand
And if a brethren be sold to you
To serve you six years
The seventh year he goes free
In spite of doubts and fears....

Balancelle
7-2-15

For my balancelle
I acquire my next meal
To put a little love in my heart
Not according to a way I might feel
I was on the road north tomorrow
Splitting the hairs on past and present tenses
O, here I go, Libra also known as Balance and as Scales
It is God's love that never fails
Shown another day to get me saying
"I think I see the light!"
No rules or regulations
In what I do here and Now
For my bastingage and a finch
Let out of her cage
By bastinads cudgel and stick
I guarantee you will have a good one
Free from infirmity
And no more quite as sick
Taking a beating
But still I'm looking forward to seeing you...

Salle-A-Manger
7-2-15

and of the children of Issachar
I wait for her green hybrid car
In another dream where she needed to pick me up
And get me out of trouble
And when I tried to refuse such was made double
When thou send them out free
Thou will not let him go out empty
Because I only care for you
O, sweet Jamaica like a good drink
I order up my blackberry
everybody needs a friend to brighten up their world
If he shows up I will tell him the truth about me
And I furnish him liberally out of my flock, floor and winepress
For my Salle-A-Manger
Saluting the park ranger
A happy camper safe and sound from danger
As thou remember that you were once a bondman
In Egypt just as well....
