teacup

Teacup
11-9-12

My teacup was designed from the drawing of a little child
As wisdom will come from mouths of babes
In that I capture this consciousness of today's sunlight
And brighter hues of skies of blue
By which we are fortunate the more
To yet live, love and laugh
As we take up rod and staff
To show the wonders
To they whom in the land doth prosper...

On Genesis 40:8 (look this up)
11-9-12

Interpretations belong to God
Of the wisdom at hand
In which today I seek my understanding
Of the reading of chapter forty
About the butler and the baker that had strange dreams
As I listen to classic R.E.M. albums
To inspire tonight's night visions
About the bread and wine
That in my subconscious mind
I still have want of in my own way
In that interpretations belong to God....

To Hear The Speech
11-9-12

God has a purpose
In what I'm going through
As I watch the president's speech
Over smoking a big cigar
Where he talks about the fiscal cliff
Giving me a hope for heaven
And for Jesus to come back
To get us out of the mess we seem to be in
Where my father according to the flesh
Tells me that it's something I don't want to hear
Yet just the same I'm willing to listen....

Victory
11-9-12

I look into my bathroom mirror
Where I can almost say to be proud
Of all that I have been through
In knowing that God has made these tests and trials
After the fashion of tabernacles of great honor
In the grinding and gnashing of teeth
And in what is worth its weight in gold
Above and beneath
In that which is said to be ambiguous
In that it can be taken in many ways
In that I don't see myself to be the victim
But as one that triumphs over it all....

Maxim
11-9-12

The moral maxim was aphoristic and sententious
Yet we could not come to determine what this could mean
For the food gathered to fill in the empty spaces of this famine
In that pithy and terse is my work today in rhyme and verse
Knowing not where I an headed
Yet choosing this faith and trust in the Great One
While I say the Lord's prayer in a hot bath
To yet begin again with my first principles....
