octavo

Octavo
8-6-15

Again I will build you
And you shall be rebuilt
Like coffee I spilled you
As come autumn the flowers do wilt
Therefore it is counted to me for righteousness
Imputed by the voice of choice who make merry
Behold I bring back the captivity of Jacob's tents
No one was down there as I see a black dog doing his thing
Being fully persuaded
that what he had promised
He was able to perform
That's nature for you
Sin is the most natural thing
Taxonomic by such classification
In an ordered system
That indicates as well the supernatural
Of science, laws and its principles
In octavo print
I will make my book for the multitude....

Elapid
8-6-15

I will multiply them
And they shall not diminish
Always starting something that I fail to finish
On the chime of seven out in the morning dew
Is manna and her leaven
O, virgin of Israel
You shall again be adorned with tambourines
And go forth in dances of those who rejoice
Confronting my elapid
Befriending my mambra often with a fatal bite
I plow on through straight into the night
My green and black tree snake
I take her in as my own
Arboreal in the way that I feel
Arboreous
I pour another cup and get on with it....

Denizen
8-6-15

Neighbor and brother
Breaking the rules
Of another mother
For lions in prides and fish in schools
At the chime of seven
Marigolds are very much in love
Their congregation shall be established
Before me for sisters throwing stones
As poets step up to the microphones
He goes up as she goes down
To believe on him that raised Jesus from the dead
Not united for our sake alone
Looking forward to Sunday afternoon
Following fellowship
I will be there soon
As a denizen and inhabitant
I get my medicine
And then I wash up for another mission
As one that frequents....

One For Faust
8-6-15

Two orphan pages
I recall yet not written upon
Being justified by faith
We have peace with our God through Jesus
she tries to say he does not exist
Let her think this
For no one can prove that he is not
The universal negative
By whom we have access
By faith into this grace
That reclines right at my side
Cleaning my spectacles
As the steam of a cup of Foldiers
Saying my prayers for all troops and soldiers
For my Sabachthani and such Mephitopheses
The choice is yours
Our main magician and alchemist in German legend
So we know the reason why
Beneath one infinite sky
So be it...

Aristocracy Revisited
8-6-15

To shuffle in the gloom
Wanting knowledge and power
By a crab stuffed mushroom
It grows more beautiful by the hour
Their children also shall be as before
For aristocracy and the hereditary ruling class of nobility
A title of merit
The earth I inherit and so can you
O, through and through
You shall plant vines
On the mountains of Samaria
As the planters will eat them as ordinary food
I don't mean to be rude but I'm still crass and crude
Still unfledged and green
If you know what I mean
For there shall be a day
When the watchman will cry
On Mount Ephraim
As citizens deemed to be the best
I finally got my rest....

Despot Revisited
8-6-15

Gracie up to no good
Playing with my computer cable
Just because she is willing and able
Streaming to the goodness for wheat and new wine and oil
And for things that won't spoil
Come on my friends
Let's make for the hills
For Rachael our ewe
The wife of Jacob of whom he loved most
Get me in on the journey
Don't expect me to stay
Autocratic and automatic
Is the state of joy that I choose
I win even if I lose
Our ruler and our despot
Of the constellation Monoceros
A beautiful sight
Thank you and good night
In the latter times we will consider it...
