be a gentleman

Be A Gentleman
9-15-15

The judge, the prophet
The ancient and the prudent
The scholar, the pupil, the gentleman and the student
All will find the Way if they diligently pursue it
The posts of the door moved at the voice
And the page is turned as so Friday it's your own free choice
Let them call you and be the one to take up James Joyce
The house was once, twice and thrice filled with smoke
Like the coves inside the brim
Like the doves when needed a trim
Then I said, weal is me
O, I am replenished
Because I'm a man of eighty percent
Clean lips today
If God wants me to be that way
One by one they're going out
Far from devout
In what it's all about
Now therefore behold
All is new in that which was old....

On First Corinthians 3:3 (read this passage)
9-15-15

The page is turned
A quarter dollar is burned
But this consumer is far from being learned
Say unto him, take heed
Day unto him according to the need
The night light is comforting
Letting me know if the power is still on
The story of your life across the ceiling
For ye are yet carnal and walk as men
There still is envying and strife among you
These things you never see will be readily available
In the little light that shines in gross darkness
Write it with a man's pen
Concerning Maher-shalal-hash-bas
And leave it just the way it is
As much as the victor today so has
Are you yet carnal and walk as men!

Allow
9-15-15

Allow yourself to drift and fly away
I cannot breathe in such that way any longer
So I just wait it out
Given the benediction of the doubt
In my own way christened with sprinklings devout
I fed you with milk and not with meat
For you were unable to grasp it
Neither now are ye able
Time for a refill
Six dollars remain
Another hard to swallow pill
Wherein to die is gain
As the hills will be digged with the mattock
Arrows and bows
Men come thither speaking to you
As babes and as well men of wisdom
For furnace and forge and hearth
By which metals are heated
The smithy makes another shekel
Allow....
