portion

Portion
9-22-13

O Lord Jesus
I pray to overcome all resentment
Concerning my hallway and sounds of suspicion
Savoring my smoke and herbal tea
Serving as today's lot and mission
Where those that ate vegetables looked better
Than those partaking in the king's meat and wine
Walking by faith and requiring not a sign
Where my food today is the book of Daniel
Taking not solid comestibles till sundown
To bring in my autumnal equinox with thankfulness
Serving as my fast praying to overcome such bitterness
That comes with what I overhear
With love to wield as a weapon
Against all hate and fear...

Prophesy
9-22-13

Accepting my current propositions
In conversation taken on by faith
Where I'm given the words to speak by the Spirit that quickens
Touching my tongue so that I might speak freely
About the matter at hand in today's study and devotion
Where faith is more than just an ascent of emotion
Where my river so runs to the depths of the ocean
In remembrance of the aroma of suntan lotion
In delicacies of ones favor
Accepting these current propositions
To pass another moment in communion
Held in hearts of council...

Friable
9-22-13

Friable and brittle is our earthenware
Sullied by our spittle upon sticks we are yet to whittle
Readily crumbled by our tool of choice in which tonight my heart doth rejoice
Eating not till sundown in attempts to put on a few pounds
To back up the words of my voice
To make such no more vain in God's purpose
In the fall of rain
Given composure even in times quite insane
Pushing until I understand it...
