Full Measure
8-21-14

Without faith it is impossible to please our God
That we cannot but see or even hear
Without love we are nothing
And yet in our doubt and fear
Without grace we do not deserve it
But we yet proceed in such a spiritual career
Without redemption we are getting nowhere
To incline an ear to but here
To but believe that He is a God of rewards
In all diligence in sending the comforter
In need of our full measure of our faith
Of without we are nothing...



Colon
8-21-14

As our colon so gets it rolling
The poet doth but forsake all punctuation of jots and tittles
Of ones exclamation
As by faith Abel offers his sacrifice
And Noah built his ark
To but redden their necks
And to polish their chrome
Getting ready to but expound these mysteries
Cutting my Colby jack
As a plan of attack
Coming to you not with excellency of speech
Nor as an orator
To but declare this testimony
As the colon gets it rolling
As I have determined to know such
By bells tolling....





Pull Up A Chair
8-21-14

O, will I live till forty-five
O, will I even live to see tomorrow
O, if the good Lord is willing
In this joy I choose in my sorrow
Pull up a chair and join me
With time I yet lend and borrow
Speaking not with words of man's wisdom
But of what the Spirit teaches one freely
On another lucky number day to make a note of
According to this pride
Coming in the name of Love
O, will I live to see tomorrow
O, if God is willing....

As the Spirit searches all things
Yes, the deep things of God
Given seven more years not promised
And a hope to sleep away the pain
Tonight in mine infirmity
On my road to Conchrea
Travelling southeast by way of my faith
In small steps taken towards the journey
She will return by the words that the Holy Spirit doth teach
By this acclivity and a lighter plateau
Yet to be as one to reach
As the natural man doth not receive these things
As they are foolishness to him
In that they are spiritually discerned
As the Spirit teaches all things
