1-12-14 d

Here is my latest material
From the first book of 2014

Secret
1-3-14

A secret is something you tell another person
Not to be hidden like a city of lights on a hill
Wherein well being comes not as a way of a pill
It's no secret at all
When we are in God's will
Soon time to take an avocado lunch break
If the good Lord is willing
Looking for such a city
Which has foundations
Whose builder and maker is God
It's no secret at all...

Being Me
1-3-14

Regarding no longer my surname
Given to me by the faith I took up
On that day to be me
To a residence wherein we were all as one
Thinking no longer of this pseudonym
Hoping to find for myself a new name
Like a white stone
To be given to those
Whom are yet to overcome
In that I've been awake for nine hours
So far on a sunshiny day
Above a world of white
Where I wait all day
For the falling of night....

A Cold One
1-4-14

The mercury is plunging
And I'm glad that I have not need to step outside
Where contention comes about only by pride
Where I'm back to face the music
This time around having God on my side
Moving onto the book of Galatians
Going along for the ride
Breaking another Sabbath by way of pen
Being one of his devotions
In doing it all again
If they had been mindful
Of that country out of which they came
They would have sought refuge
In the word and in the name
The mercury is rising
Where I am still surmising...

Cold One Part II
1-4-14

Fourteen below in Mineapolis
Glad to be indoors
With my feline companion on all fours
Knowing peace today in all of such wars
Declaring plainly that we seek our country
Alongside a companion wanting not apple cores
Where they all die in faith
Receiving the promises made
Unto all drunkards and whores
Staring out my day with coffee and smoke
Promised a prolific one
Wherein healing are my sores...

I Begin Again
1-4-14

Paul, an apostle but not of men
\Propels the velocity of this humble pen
So that I might return to the here and now
And do it all again
To be delivered from the fiery furnace and lion's den
To the churches of Galatia
Grace to you and peace
Being one to begin again
In the moment that I cease
Delivered from this present evil age
Where my tigers know contentment
Inside this cage...

We're One
1-4-14

We're one but we're not the same
Appearing very much alike
In the word and name
Being of one mind
Reading the same book
Playing the same game
When we hurt each other
And do it all again
Where love is a temple
According to the work of this pen
Yeah, you've got to do what you should
Where we get to carry each other
Being one's privilege for our brother
Namely oneself
In loving one another
We're one but we're not the same...

quoting Bono  in knowing that these words belong to us all wherein all poets are interconnected and we are all of one bread....

On Galatians 1:5
1-4-14

To whom be glory forever, Amen
Today I put forth all devotions of this pen
Back here and now to face the music
Once and twice again
Where you left my heart
Vacant as an empty lot
Where this is my hap
According to all that I've got
To whom be glory forever
Halelulia
According to what is
And what is not
Where eternal is the invisible
To whom be glory
By this grace for which we have fought...

some free style approaching my 41 months of sobriety

Supernatural
1-4-14

Who's going to take the place of me
I know you're going to miss me when I'm gone
Where grace and glory is according to what one can see
Where I rise up once more
Before the light of dawn
Giving you all you ever wanted
It wasn't what you wanted
As my cat chases spirits around
In my abode that is haunted
O, sweetheart you're so cruel
In that we are to call no man fool
Regarding the mote in one's own eye
Being one to let it all hang out
And let it fly
Saying that in love there is no golden rule...

this session was written while listening to old school U2 cassettes. I own what is probably the last Walkman that I frequently play while writing. This explains these quoting of one of my favorite artists.

Occasion
1-14-14

By the occasion of the epistle
We yet adapt to the thorn and thistle
By which apostle Paul describes the blessedness of grace
Seeing that today I'm in a much better place
Coming back to the good news
After drifting away
On a day not shod with walking shoes
Wherein without ceasing
I will pray by the occasion of this letter
I see how that things can only get better
Where I marvel how so soon you have been removed
By the occasion of this message
Our faith is tested
And our spirit is proved...

Mindful
1-4-14

Being today mindful
Of the country I come from
Having opportunity to be one that has returned
Following the beat of my own base drum
As one well read and thoroughly studied and learned
Back to the here and now
To face the music and by hot coffee not burned
Turning off my television
To get back to the basics that I have discerned
Being today mindful
In finding peace within these opposite extremes
Inspired by last night's lucid dreams
Declaring plainly to seek the country
Beyond what it all so seems...

Faubourg
1-4-14

faubourgs and suburbs
Where grown are all spices
And sweet herbs of past and present tense
Being and action verbs
Used by the poet that tries the pen
On another cold and snowy day
I spend indoors
In faubourgs and suburbs
Where dwell my feline friend  on all fours
Hoping to prepare another eggplant later on
When the day has passed
And the morning is far gone
Turning off my television
To get on with it...

these posts still need to be revised.
