Faith Defined
6-5-12
Faith is defined as a measure of confidence
And of what God wishes to do to make a change in the you
That is as me
Of the consciousness of consolation
In the healing and release of the emotion
That meets up with my reason
To produce this faith
That is counted as what is wise
As all the day long
With my sunshine
I keep my eyes on this prize
Believing to already have it all in my hands...
Axiom
6-5-12
Axiomatic aphrodisiacs
Linger in thoughts of last night's dreams
Half remembered of games I would play in excess
In the days when IJ had no such apprehension
In my avarice that kept me going back to the places
Where I would get the words to carry home with me
And pour them upon this page as a bridge to reach the other shore
In my own way...
Half Page Number
6-6-12
Today seems as if it's a superstitious numerical event
If you choose to see it that way
Looking around this room
In joy and sadness intermingled
In that it is not good for a man to be alone
Knowing that they are all here to encourage us
To follow our dreams...
Four Twenty
6-6-12
Words are but signposts
To point to entities in the physical realm of beauty
To be observed by those who are in the way
On their way to splendor
And four twenty rolls around
As I allow the chariots to pull out without me
In a physical sense
Yet my heart is with them
As I partake of coffee and beans
At home with my dear girl
Named after the unmerited favor inexhaustible and indeffatiguable
Tiring not in faithful flight
Present while absent
When in this is what I choose...
On Nahum 3:17
6-6-12
The crowned are as the locusts
That swarm in this imagination
Where a lonesome poet can rejoice
In the sorrow that meets up with joy
In God's love that will much more abound
Where right at home is my feast
When everyone is out at the park
Feeding to ducks their bread
Remaining from their hot dogs
And I am content just to be here with my cat
In that I hope to quicken her indolent disposition with the love at hand...
On Nahum 3:18
6-6-12
The people are scattered on the mountains
And no man regards
Where in a game of solitaire
I take not inventory
Of the suits upon my cards
Where in the game it's not about winning the hand
When all of such plays by the opponent are planned
As she judges my next move by my absence
And I accept what I choose in staying where I'm at
As the shepherds slumber
And the nobles choose to dwell in the dust...
There And Here
6-6-12
It is spoken that if you're not with them
Then you are against them
Yet I must be true to this day of compromise
With the burden that the prophets do see
In declining from a proposition
To be truthful in my intent
Not against them
Yet choosing to be separate
While present in spirit and heart
Feeling worthy in that they want me there
As I wish them well
Just the same in my intent...
Happy To Be Square
6-6-12
Called a coward by the critic within
Yet choosing to reinforce this judgment
With an affirmation of encouragement
Reflected in the remaining light of day
As such a critic says to be there or to be square
Yet I heed not such a reputation
According to what I might be called
In choosing to stay home from the picnic
To partake in what is here
Without a need to seek after anything more
Than what is now...
I Seek Other Hermits
6-6-12
In the bible I look for a man
That is set apart from the flock
As a nonconformist
In that he will choose to go his own way
Like Jonathan Livingston Seagull
In the idea of breaking away to eat beans at home
Instead of going to the picnic
To love the aroma of his own flatulence
Later this evening
As a brother compares my life
To that of Noah
Just to be in jest
A friend even when I am distant
Seeing that in truth
I did not miss out...
