1-30-14

Apostle
6-7-12

Receiving apostleship
With the grace to give us strength
To run before us a good race
When we won't understand the book
When we don't know the author
He is the author of life and love
In that we thrive upon the milk of this word
Appreciated even while it's expired
For a day or two
In our receiving of apostleship
To be witnesses of what we learn in the dark
So we can teach in the light...

Trimming Hedges
6-7-12

Crusades and pesitos in my pocket
Of a pair of jeans on my bedroom floor
Yet with no regard to what is material
In that I am content
In no need to seek out more
Where all I have to offer is a prayer
Yet at least this is something
As working men trim the hedges
Of the adjacent façade
That I take upon my face
For their prosperity...
