Auscultation
10-26-13

By the auscultation of affinity
We can hear what is taking place
In the bowels of he whom is a consumer of starch
Given the cool of autumn
Parallel here and now to the month of March
Up tomorrow bright and early
To see the sunrise once again
Asking for a double portion
Upon my tablet and my pen
Hoping and praying for inspiration
By way of where and when
Where the who and the how are the given
Of what one can know of it...

Line Storm
10-26-13

Watching the line storm of our equinox
Dreaming of coke and rum on the rocks
Knowing the door upon which the seeker
With importunity knocks
Back home from a wonderful lunch with Mother
To later today hook up again with my brother
Watching the line storm come down in its force
In allowing nature to take her own course
Being one not to set the cart before the horse
Whatever that might mean
According to idiom and allusion...

Wager
10-26-13

If the creator made the serpent twice
O, what will be our wager in the vice in its price
Knowing no new rhyme scheme of fish and rice
Just as natural as a cat chasing after her mice
O, why do I rhyme like so
When inflections are never required
To write our page of new material rehashed
From all that has already been said and done
Quoting artists that have made it far
Saying a wish upon our morning star...

Inheritance
10-26-13

Deep and dark
Down in the forest of Arden
God doth have his mercy, compassion and pardon
Deep and dark inside the mind of a poet
In his bosom blooms almond rods beyond the garden
To signify our arrival in our Jordan promised land
That we believe to inherit
When given the faith of a mustard seed
Deep and dark in the grotto
To hide out in our safety
Resting assured...

On Acts 7:22
10-26-13

Moses was mighty in his deeds and words
Learned in all the knowledge of Egypt
According to the trees, beasts and birds
Of what we can clearly see
That is transitory and manifest
To inspire another adventure
When I make my way back west
Given the incentive to go there again
So that I can be mighty
By tablet and pen
Going to see my unknown brethren
In the now that pertains to what is then...

Ardeb
10-26-13

Measuring my ardebs, bushels and liters
Are loose coins that fill those parking meters
Needing no violation
When I pay up and steep my tea
Once again in my holiday cup
Knowing not where to go from here
Save the faith of a mustard seed
That goes a long way
Astounded and baffled by the lyrics I clearly hear
With ears inclined...

Gudgeon
10-26-13

Of pivot, gudgeon, axle and shaft
I once cried upon my pillow
And then violently I laughed
According to the raw emotion
I once had in turning the screw for good and bad
And for good and ill
I feel this way
Coming to terms with what there is to say
By pintle, rudder, axle and screw
All has been said and done
And nothing under the sun is new...

Ear
10-26-13

In my inactivity of active listening
I discern all other accompaniments
By the avacados cut and peeled
By my senses yet reeled
And a love letter sealed
To she of my days of obscurity
And my fervent desire to know her like that
As a stranger in the land of my Midian
In a dream half remembered of going around the corner
Dryshod And quite safely around the bend
To where I still want to go
When I yet awaken before the sun...
