Eleatic
10-27-13
By Eleatic enthusiasm
We choose to believe in the one God
Of the one indivisible and unchanging reality
Manifested by the illusion
Of what we can taste in our cup of herbal tea
In its decadence by Eleatic enablement
Of this grace and apostleship
Witten of by our apostle Paul
That I read of today
For the cause of consciousness
By faith and in grace and love...
Ducat
10-27-13
With ducats and golden coins
e regard the cloth to cover our loins
Realizing our nakedness
In the garden from which we still yet fall
Where it was of necessity
To fall from grace
And pass on into imperfection
So that we can be delivered for all offences
I am not one to speak
But one to pen what I have seen...
Valerian
10-27-13
Praying for the following fifty bright ideas
According to revelation
Praying for the power to my pen
To the sound of playing my Rush archives
To set the mood for hopefulness
And such a grace not a license to sin
But as empowerment to do what's right
Sipping valerian for stealth in love with all might
Praying for the quickening
To prophesy in part
Yet not partial
Choosing no favorites
Praying, praying, praying...
On Romans 1:3
10-27-13
Born of the seed of David
According to the flesh
Bringing in the holiday season
To light our trees afresh
Living it one day at a time
Wherein the fields I till and thresh
Being true to myself
When no one else will
Born again into this grace, our free gift
And nothing of ourselves
By eyes of fire
And feet of burnished brass
Crushed under the glory once again...
Return
10-27-13
I return to the congregation
To with manna be well fed
Where he declares to the son of God with power
According to the spirit of holiness
By the resurrection from the dead
Counting it a miracle
That at six I step out of bed
Putting my first foot down by my faith
That is real and not just in my head
Where I return to the congregation
Hoping to receive the free gift of grace
Not according to what I can do
But by what has already been said...
Glad To Quote
10-27-13
Receiving yet the lively oracles of the living word
Where truth to us is no longer strange
And love for one another is far from absurd
Knowing not where I'm going with this
But to fill in the spaces between the things that are seen
Through closed eyelids
Exposed to the light of day
Confessing to love yet the dark of night
Receiving yet apostleship and grace
As our free gift
Not of ourselves
Lest any should boast
Glad to quote these passages
To impart to you these songs of hope...
Whale
10-27-13
Rorquals and baleens
Are observed by pirates and men of means
To paint the extra added scenes of hues
That triumph over shadow
Saving the whales from those carrying harpoons and spears
Yielding to the love that doth cast out all fears
Given seven more hours of this which I do for the cause of faith
And a prayer that God hears for rorquals and baleens
I observe all of the beauty of deep seas where I set sail...
Impetus
10-27-13
By such impetus and force
Anointed is at the gates our favorite racing horse
Sanctified and set apart by gallop and canter
Being one to yet boast in belligerent banter
Learning these figures of speech
For the cause yet to teach
Yet still not to practice what I preach
Making it just barely by the fuzz of a sweet ripe peach
By such impetus and impelling force
Of the nature that one accepts as his own...
Stringent
10-27-13
By stringency, scarceness and strain
Affluence will come down from the firmament like rain
When we choose to give as a way to live
Beside ourselves in liberality
Where godliness is our great gain
Imposing rigorous standards
For the cause of what can be done
Among those whom are without
Standing outside the circle
Of a life we hope to yet achieve
Hoping to do something
With what we have come to believe...
