Vision Quest
12-29-13

Courageous but not arrogant
In the matter of my lack of rest
Bold but not yet beyond such
So that on the morrow I can be at my best
Capturing my view of my East
So I can leave behind my West
Hanging my new calendar
Concerning our children
Yet without blemish
In quarries we yet seek
On another vision quest
With understanding in matters
Of dreams and visions
Courageous but not arrogant
Standing in our unity
With no divisions....

these poems written on Dec. 29th were stale due to a sleepless night.

Leave
12-30-13

On that new years eve eve
I decline from the proposition
And go on sick leave
To write about the fall of man
In the days of Adam and Eve
Taking out of my chest
\My floating rib
Chilling with Dylan
In the comfort zone of my crib
Made out of dust
And to the dust doth return
Glad to be as green
With so much more yet to learn
Bringing in the year of fourteen
Glad to be still unfledged and green....

Compass
12-30-13

Compassed and beset
Of my childhood rue and regret
That I must of myself forgive and forget
And I finally got some rest
In no need today to go west
While in my new material I invest
Compassed and beset
By sharp sighted ambition
That makes me ugly
And so beautiful
Where I embrace my eccentricities
Compassed and beset...

Spoor
12-30-13

Tracks, trails and spoors
Are plowed to make the streets clean
And open up new doors
Taken by those whom wish to make peace in all wars
Chilling with Dylan
And tolling for all drunkards and whores
Clearing the path ahead
Tossing aside clementine rinds and apple cores
On this post Christmas fest
Where I need not today go west
So that in this new material
I can yet invest
Wherein my conscious needs not be the pest
Alongside my feline companion always faithful....
