1-26-14
On Acts 7:11
10-26-13
Finding no sustenance
In the dearth and drought
Hoping to grasp what the illustration is all about
Knowing faith and belief
In the shadow of another doubt
On another fruitless search
Turning out abundant
By a smile to absorb such a pout
In such great affliction
Designed to instruct those
On the path to this wellness and recovery
Here, now and today
That serves as a gift we can know
In earthren vessels..
Corn
10-26-13
Joseph hears that there is corn in the land of Egypt
Not a place to try to leave
But an example of where we are yet to triumph
By the decadence of another light lunch
Of all pulse by which the princes are proven
More comely than those whom ate of the king's meat
Stated in the present tense
To acknowledge the dream I had last night
Of childhood bicycle excursions
Across the county line
Into opportunity itself
Permeating what can be seen and heard
With ears inclined...
Jacob Goes Down
10-26-13
Jacob goes down into Egypt and dies
Stated in the present tense
According to our time that but flies
Spreading her wings in our expanse
Of romance
Not according to shape or size
Playing today my old school cassettes
In hopes to have no further rues or regrets
Of all I can know and feel
By my listening and day watch
By which we place our bets
Where Jacob doth rise up again
To see what can be known
By those that inquire...
Roof
10-26-13
Our roof is represented
As a standard of limitation
Scoring the staple of avacados
Seeking not a spurious imitation
Given new vices and choices
In the manner of produce
Setting my pens free
And cutting all inward poets loose
Yet to raise the roof
And refuse the standard of the norm
Living still in the complex
Similar to the collage dorm
On my longest sojourn
I have taken in my stay...
