Debtor
12-30-13

In the Scripture today
All things are new
By the contrast of pink and red
And green to blue
Keeping my Christmas tree erect
For another several weeks
Of that which just is this
Sitting in my sacred space
Where there is nothing I need miss
Where I am a debtor
Not to flesh yet to abide
In that such is more needful
In asking amiss
Putting on another Dylan archive
To be a good reason
For being alive...

Heir
12-30-13

The believer is made the son and the heir
Taking no thought of what tomorrow we wear
Putting on the armor
Putting on peace
Putting on the righteousness
That is not of us
Dreaming of once again
When I'd step on the bus
To suffer with him
And be glorified together
As members of one another
We reign as kings
As the soul is not satisfied
By material things
Where my feline companion
Joins me again
And my main prophet sings...

On Romans 8:20
12\-30-13

The creation is subjected  to futility
Yet all is sacred
According to one's gift, power and ability
Where a lady friend comes to mind
?That still supports my word
She said that I would see her today
Between blue lines on another page to be filled
Not just the paper from which it is made
But that which just is
As the creation is subjected to futility
Because of Him whom subjected it in hope...

Another
12-30-13

Another Dylan album
Another epistle
Another fig tree
Another bramble thistle
There is always another
Plenty more comes from where that came from
As the Spirit constantly groans
To be clothed with the glory
Not to be compared with the suffering of the present day
Another cigarette
Another cup of herbs
Another poem written
There is always another
For my cause to reach out to a brother...

I Already Have It
12-30-13

We have the firstfruits
Eagerly waiting for the adoption
As children of innocence
We thought not to exist
In the manifold manifestations
Of what is said to be good
Seeking first to understand
And not hope to be understood
We have the firstfruits
Straight from the vine
Where I hope today to prophesy
Till the hour of nine
A tall order
But with God all things are possible
We have the firstfruits
Saved in this hope....

Assurance
12-30-13

To the full assurance
Of hope till the end
We hope for what we cannot see
In no need to pretend
But beloved
Better things are persuaded
In you and I
In that God does not change
And will not lie
By the labor of love
Shewed toward his name
Where truth is my profession
Of my passion for the game
To the full assurance
Of our hope till the end
In hope for that which we cannot see...

My Business
12-30-13

At my table with two empty chairs
Jesus by himself so swears
To occupy all empty spaces
Where I cast aside my cares
Back to my business
Down on the corner of Market and Queen
To carry out my dreams and goals
For my two thousand fourteen
At my table with my bible open
And a pen ready and willing to plow through another day
This is my ministry
And I will do this for as long as I live.....

Like Wine
12-30-13

Moving onto chapter nine
Of the book of Romans
Where apostle Paul writes of his solicitude
Where yet to be told outside my doors
Is what I hear in my solitude
For the word to scholars
Is substance like solid food
That belongs to he with senses exercised to yet discern
In that it is blessed to ponder
Over how we have so much more to learn
Moving onto chapter nine
Where this word will be to me like wine....

Typical
12-30-13

Chapter eight was the highest of spires
Of such divine revelation
Of the book of Romans
As compared to a cathedral
Stranding tall in that I set my cigarettes aside
And with tea I swallow my pride
Saying prayers for those that are in the hall
Yet to overturn all tables
That hold the relics of allegory and fables
Of stories told to yet illustrate
These manifold syllables
Written for our learning
This is my work
To yet consider that which just is...

Omniscient
12-30-13

Past, present and future tenses
Are stated in one verse
Amongst greener grasses
On the other side of dividing fences
Where omniscient is this truth
For us to come to understand it
Written out in terms crystal clear
By my memory of opening up another beer
In my days of excess
That I have renounced
Where at one in the afternoon
Once again I quit...

as of now I am 41 months sober...

Tuck
12-30-13

Tucking into my Christmas dinner leftovers
Tolling for all pilgrims and rovers
To traverse to and fro
Today through Scripture
Of higher esteem than even four leaf clovers
Scribbling these lyrics
That come straight from the source
Dressed in black in my own space
Amongst my muses in the form of pastors and drovers
Tucking into my Christmas dinner leftovers
Giving God thanks for the simple things
We often take for granted...

Mycelia
12-30-13

By the sclerotiums and tuckahoes
I am glad to know of how our God knows
Where we have the mind of Christ
According to the star that still yet glows
Fixing myself a late lunch
If the good Lord is willing
Where my faith still grows
By the Mycelia of mindfulness
For the cause of commaraderies
Of the group situation that I moved on from
To go into my retreat
By the sound of my own drum...

Hyphae
12-30-13

Of my hyphae
My hyphen stands alone
To hone the skills of the writer today
At his work needing not be carved in stone
Of such threadlike elements
By which the Spirit doth yet groan
Constantly desiring to be clothed
With the glory that is to follow
Of my hyphae and its mycelia
Not attached to that which we tend to grasp a hold of
Wherein we still reach
By the fungus of the faithful
To forget our failure..

Mirror Gift
12-30-13

Leftover dark turkey meat
Assisted my sleep
That came to my eyes like a blessing
That today I am thankful for
In that I pucker up to give myself a kiss
In my new mirror I received as a Christmas gift
From my sister
To write this tribute composition
Of my thankfulness
And to thank my God for everything
That comes to mind
When I close my eyes to see...
