Sunup At Seven
3-15-16
Plying the starring role
As the bad guy who walked out
she makes it through into an open door
Just as well as a taste bittersweet
And when I get home
I get something to eat
Like a good guy that walks back in
Us two, back in the blue
We might as well hear it for what it sounds like
Blue, your eyes still in my heart
Be careful where you aim
For you just might hit me
Turn these lights on tomorrow
It doesn't need to be sunup at seven.....
Better To Sweat Than Shiver
3-15-16
A time for every purpose under heaven
And blind horses over the hill
Nothing can be added to it nor aught diminished
I look forward to the summer nights and waking to warmth
My spiritual grandfather says it's better to sweat than shiver
You kicked it seventeen more times
For the rain that burns for the next one down the block
Once a stone and now a rock
And I write three hundred more rhymes
Where forgiveness is the key to every lock
Because I still love you
All is vanity
As light excelleth darkness....
